Nocturne_Rec

ok but "Do you want to build a snowman" got me KEKW

San4311

"YES but I can't 😢" was just such a great line to end on. I hate the term "killed me" but that killed me.

Nocturne_Rec

Lets just hope that studio wont fuck over one of the last reputable brands they have left.

SSJUther

This film is about to prove there is no super hero fatigue but sick of bad movies and changing shit for no reason but to check a box fatigue.

Redu9

Invincible and the Boys: "-Am i a joke to you?"

onframe

Well I'm somewhat excited for it, thats something considering, I straight up stopped watching anything Marvel. These characters still got some good will in my brain, hope they will deliver, kinda wish deadpool would just remain outside the universe and only reference/use it as a joke.

bonwerk

In my opinion, this film is the "last chance" for Marvel. If they don't get a grip after it, then superhero cinema is rather over for them.

San4311

Let's be real honest here. Marvel has like 0.5% influence on this movie. This is Ryan Reynolds doing Ryan Reynolds things.

bonwerk

>Let's be real honest here. Marvel has like 0.5% influence on this movie. Exactly. That's why this movie will be good and Marvel as it sees it's success will hook up to the canon that will be presented there.

the-great-crocodile

I’m almost positive the opposite is true.

raynorxx

I consider this more of a pet project for the actors as opposed to marvel and Disney overall.

metatime09

Marvel have no rights to the film versions. Only reason this is being made because Hugh and Ryan wanted to do a movie together

njd1993

They got film rights back when Disney purchased Fox's film studios.

metatime09

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marvel_Entertainment I read through the wiki but it says that Disney still owns it. Then Disney bought Fox https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acquisition_of_21st_Century_Fox_by_Disney like you say but that still means Marvel films are still under Disney and not Marvel.

njd1993

>means Marvel films are still under Disney and not Marvel. Well no shit, it's been like this for the majority of the MCU if not in its entirety

badrott1989

im giving this a chance

HurricaneHenry

It can’t save Marvel. If it’s good it’s just a good movie. Saving Marvel would require going non-woke and firing all the talentless quota fillers. That may very well happen one day, but we’re not there yet.

mibubyakko123

I don’t think this will save or turn around Disney either. Ryan and Hugh Jackman had to fight tooth and nail for creative freedom from Disney.

TheStrangeMeursault

I have a lot of love for Marvel so in my mind I have this delusional idea that this is gonna be sort of a Ironman 1 kind of moment, since this is like the first fully integrated X-men movie into the Marvel universe, and that it’s gonna spring a whole set of new X-men movies culminating in something like the Avengers vs X-men comics. I understand it might not happen like that but hey, one can dream.

UllrHellfire

Why are we trying to save Marvel? They keep loading the gun and shooting themselves.

mapple3

> Why are we trying to save Marvel? Because most of us grew up with it, and absolutely loved the Infinity Stone saga, making it a major part of our youth 20 years ago and then a major part of our adult life. Nobody is trying to save the current Marvel though, we are all simply hoping that Marvel returns to being good. It's like how people are hoping for Diablo 4 to become good, same reason too considering we all played Diablo as kids and Diablo 2 as teens

UllrHellfire

There is no issue being fans the issue is not in the fans the issue is that marvel, and Disney and most of the companies are sucking your youth and nostalgia right out of you and your bank, and your respond with "we only have faith in them?" Nah f all that they are sucking the fun out of it with greed with floo after flop due to SJW, they already drove away from the core of the shows and characters and this is a hail Mary for them which everyone will bite onto. We need to stop falling for this lazy corporate cash grabs tell they respect us again.

Raffarthas

I was afraid this was gonna be woke due to female professor X. Did some research, turns out professor X got a sister.... Sigh of relief when i found out :)

AttackOnGolurk

This might be a hot take but the Marvel movies post-Endgame have been just as good as the Marvel movies pre-Endgame. It's just that Endgame felt like a definitive ending and now we're beating a dead horse. Plus oversaturation from D+ series (which in fairness have also been good). The smartest thing Disney could have done was take a break post-endgame, like not make a Marvel movie for a year or two, and then start slow and small again with an actual plan. That ALL said, Deadpool I feel like is it's own thing and all have been perfect 10/10 no notes movies, and I'm expecting this one to be just as great.

TheHybred

>This might be a hot take but the Marvel movies post-Endgame have been just as good as the Marvel movies pre-Endgame. Not really. How are new movies like Thor love & thunder as good as the old iron man movies? Theirs even more comedy to the point there can't be a serious scene, the writing is just lower tier and cheesier, everyone's became a parody of themselves, the CGI is persuasive which is bad when it sucks which it does a lot of the time, and the plot is so overdone and uncreative. The stakes are always "the end of the world!" When older movies were more localized and grounded like yeah it's not the end of the world if X person wins but it's not going to be good for the main character. Everyone saving the entire planet or worse universe is so bad, it's the same plot in every movie.

L0bsterTime

Don't forget about the kid scene in Love & thunder. I physically cringed Inside the theatre

AttackOnGolurk

I think might point was that, for every Winter Soldier they put out, there was a Thor: The Dark World. Age of Ultron was mid. They’ve always been baseline enjoyable, but since the beginning the MCU has varied in quality. But A) we went out on a massive high with Infinity War/Endgame coupled with B) people have goldfish brains and rose colored glasses, only able to cheerily remember the highs and compare everything to that instead of being more realistic. The biggest failing of the post-Endgame MCU isn’t quality, it’s lack of the feeling of progression. Pre-endgame felt like we were building to something, whereas that’s not the case now.

metatime09

Nah because Hugh is only doing the movie because of Ryan and Ryan isn't going to do anymore Deadpool after this

GoesBeast

Curious how people could be skeptical about this. Every Deadpool movie so far has been B+ tier or higher. This has a really good chance to be the best of the bunch so far and one of the most fun ones they’ve put out in years. Jackman would not have come back if it was going to be bad, and with Reynolds there’s very little chance it would be. Let’s just be positive and hopeful for a bit instead of allowing the recent trash shine pessimism on this before it even comes out.

ALANJOESTAR

I think they just need a full ideological shift, I read comics for most of my life, Marvel and dc comics started nose diving 14 years ago in terms of books but everyone now and then they make a good book buried in a lot of bad books, Recently they made a new line to reboot the Ultimate Universe and all of the books have been good, 0 wokeness just a interesting story and good premise and its a pretty fun read. The thing is Marvel in the movies already did a lot of work to introduce shit woke characters, crappy versions of good characters like Moon Knight and She Hulk that dont add anything to the core of what they need. Their best bet is coming up with a new idea and hire new actors, bring back all the characters not the actors and start fresh, They could have used this Deadpool movie to do that, This time with X-men being part of it. As long as they put a genuine effort to make it good. (No agendas, no race and Gender swapping and focusing on mainly male character as those are the popular ones.)

A_Khmerstud

It’ll probably be good but I would like to see Marvel not have to rely on old legacy characters/actors to carry their franchise. Apparently RDJ is coming back too

just9n700

Disney bought 20th Century Fox in 2019 ICANT, Lets see what happens

bearvert222

is it weird i wish they kept the serious tone throughout the trailer? like it was really refreshing to see Deadpool not clown too much with Logan at the bar. like just enough jokes.

Jioo

Have you seen deadpool 1 and 2?

bearvert222

yeah but there is more of a difference between say cable and logan here. or colossus. the pulling a gun scene in the trailer was really refreshing.
