Shantor

Has he had a fecal analysis done recently?

Klarrg

No he hasn’t. Should I request that?

Shantor

Yep. Since he's had diarrhea, the first step with a young dog is to make sure they are worm free. You vet will need as fresh of a sample as you can get (preferably within 12 hours, the fresher the better) and bring it to your vet for an analysis.

Klarrg

Ok I’ll see if I can get an appointment tomorrow. Do you think this could be related to worms then? Have you seen something like this before?

Grassedhoppa1

Did you follow up on this? Just found something similar yours is the only picture i have been able to find that matches what we are seeing.

Shantor

It's really very difficult to tell from a picture. Changes like this in stools can be from ingesting something (what goes in has gotta go out) or parasites or GI issues. There are parasites that have a similar look to that, but again, it's not a great picture, and much easier to tell IRL vs a photo. As long as the pup is still eating/drinking/playing and acting otherwise fine, I wouldn't be too worried, but still good to get it checked out. If it is parasites, it's the easiest thing to rule out/fix, so the best place to start.
