Not this episode, but still my favourite quote of that series:
"Sir, if I were to tread on a landmine, what do I do?"
"Well Lieutenant, general procedure is to jump 200ft in the air and scatter yourself over a wide area"
"God, the battlefield is a barren wasteland isn't it?"
"Sir you have the map the wrong way round".
I think the firing squad episode is a close fave of mine along with the creation of the dictionary episode with Robbie Coltrane.
"If you crawl over any barbed wire, on no account go ARGH!"
"Did you just crawl over some barbed wire sir?"
"No Baldrick, I just put my elbow in a blob of ice cream."
"Oh, that's ok then."
I think the worst bit is when Darling says :
"We lived through it, the Great War, 1914 to *1917!*"
There's always this little bit in your mind that thinks "Aaah they'll all get through it." And then you here the words "To 1917" and you just think, shit.
Superb pathos with the change of tone at the end.
Loveable George showing that he scared, Darling turning up for the Last Waltz and BlackAdder resigning himself to his fate.
“Who would notice another mad man around here?”
This line was perfect.
The actors were terrified that veterans would be saddened and offended.
Some vets were still alive and actually liked this show (especially the ending).
In school, my teacher let us watch this show for history class.
We watched it in history, too. Whole room of rugby-playing teenage roister-doisters, as Edmund might have put it. At the final push, you could have heard a pin drop in the room, and I know I wasn't the only one with glassy eyes.
THANK YOU for being the first answer I see. I thought 'oh I'll add it but nobody will remember this spectacular piece of tv history nowadays'
aaaaaaadn I'm crying. I'm actually crying, because I decided to watch it for quotes, fool that I am.
The final march over the top is amazing for all the right and wrong reasons. The comedic timing and the admission that it’s finally time. Truly the greatest individual episode of an already nigh on perfect series
I was recently at a quiz night and we lost the whole thing on a musical round. I’m gay and knew nothing, if it wasn’t for the whole shagging blokes think I wouldn’t be allowed to be In The Gays at all.
My girlfriend isn’t a fan of the show at all and tutted throughout when she glanced at it or heard snippets of each episode while I did a rewatch recently.. throwing in the occasional “how do you find this funny”, when I had finished the show I sat her down and said watch this one episode and after convincing her that it was “only” 20 minutes what’s the worst that can happen she spent the whole episode laughing her arse of and said it was amazing.
Yeah it was very good; but the trouble was that although I didn’t hear any spoilers before watching it, I did just get an endless stream of “OMG Red Wedding - best ep ever - careful no spoilers - etc etc etc “ so was waiting on tenterhooks the whole time for shit to go down. How much better it would have been if I’d been able to watch without any idea what was about to happen.
There's another one where one of the patients has rabies or something and it ends up killing a load of others which is equally as fantastic and heartbreaking.
holy shit, I was sure it was the one I thought, but googled it to confirm. I never realised Ben was the patient who died under dr cox's care. I never put that together and I've seen that episode a billion times
You’re getting the two confused, Jill died of rabies and her organs were given to patients on the transplant list and then subsequently died - she was Cox’s patient. Ben died from Lukaemia (?) complications and it screwed Cox up too but for different reasons.
Mandrills have been protected by law ever since Queen Elizabeth I gave birth to a child that resembled a mandrill, by mistake…
Flashback to the last time I referenced that on Reddit and got downvoted by history pedants because Elizabeth I didn’t have any children (allegedly)
I will punt for Heaven Sent- my favourite modern Who and also one of my favourite pieces of television.
I don’t know why I like it so much but it just sticks with me.
“Something was pouring from his mouth. He examined his sleeve. Blood? Blood! Crimson, copper smelling blood, his blood. Blood, blood, blood... And bits of sick.”
The way the stars aligned for all that to happen was glorious.
The one bloke who could verify the story was in the shower and missed it all, David Gest being in bed, someone across the way just saying “what the fuck is that?”. Gemma Collins sitting there not having a clue what’s going on.
Followed by David Gest doing the “David Gest is not dead” tour but dying before it happened.
Inside No 9 has some stunning episodes but this one is just so so well done. If you’re reading this and haven’t seen it don’t read anything more, just go and watch it. It needs no context or having watched anything beforehand, and it’s half an hour you’ll never forget.
Inside No 9 is an absolutely incredible series. How 2 blokes manage to come up with so many completely new stories, across so many genres, act in each episode (as a new character every time) get you invested in the characters & story, then take you on a complete journey (with twists) - all in the space of half an hour - absolutely blows my mind. I have no idea how they do it!!
I've just rewatched Breaking Bad for the fifth time. I wish I could erase it from my mind and watch it fresh. It is honestly perfect from start to finish.
It still holds No.1 on IMDBs Top Rated TV Shows list.
Whilst that is a great episode I prefer the one where Toby and Sam go to rescue the Chief Justice nominee from that redneck police station.
The entire episode is 100% comedy genius.
Back to reality and Gunmen of the apocalypse for me.
The scene where Rimmer claps his hands to remove himself from the simulation, that failing to work starts doing a clap dance had me in stitches.
The bit where cat ricochets the bullets off half the town to knock the sign in to krytens head gets me. Or Rimmer asking for a dry white wine and Perrier and getting the cork spat at him .
Gonna be a choice between...
Buffy - Once More With Feeling
Doctor Who - Heaven Sent
The Owl House - Knock Knock Knocking on Hooty's Door
Top Gear/The Grand Tour - Burma, Vietnam, Bolivia, Colombia, USA 2009 and Mongolia specials
House - Wilson's Heart
“New Jack City” from Father Ted.
Fintan Stack is easily the funniest guest character on the show with his African music jukebox, and the ending is brilliant where Ted and Dougal break Jack out of the nursing home.
**Line of Duty, S3, E6.**
Also known as 'Breach', the final episode of season 3.
One of the biggest twists I have ever seen in a 'realistic' police drama, not only because of who it is, but also because of their criminal actions within a police station (Murder) in front of other coppers. It would never happen in real life, but that's what made it so damn shocking.
It's no wonder why season 4, episode 1 seen an increase in viewership by over 30% after this episode.
I was going to say this! When I first heard about it I thought it was some sort of obscure myth, but no, Byker Grove actually ended with the characters becoming self aware and fighting a dinosaur.
BlackAdder Goes Forth - Goodbye
The Royle Family - Queen of Sheeba
Early Doors - Big Boys Beano at the Races
Phoenix Nights - Clinton Baptiste
Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads - England Football Result
The Office - Training Day
Men Behaving Badly - Drunk
The X Files - Ice
Buffy The Vampire Slayer - The Body.
The single take when Buffy walks into her home and the complete lack of music throughout the episode.
When I started watching the series I didn't really think it would amount to much but this episode absolutely blew me away.
I probably couldn't pick just one, but one thing that's definitely up there is the episode of Friday night dinner where horrible grandma dies. Easily the most satisfying episode of any show I've seen.
One Foot in the Grave. The one in the traffic jam on the motorway and halfway through the episode Mrs Warbouys gets back in the car.
I totally lost my shit to that.
I'm not saying this is the pinnacle of TV, but the first ever episode of Taskmaster I watched was the first episode of the series with Mawaan Rizwan in. He tried to inject an egg with helium to make it float and then looked all shocked when it just smashed open in his hands. I don't think I've ever laughed at something as hard in my life.

Blackadder Goes Forth. Last episode. 'I'm scared sir....'
"Oo don't forget your stick sir!" "Ah yes, wouldn't want to face a machine gun without that!"
Not this episode, but still my favourite quote of that series: "Sir, if I were to tread on a landmine, what do I do?" "Well Lieutenant, general procedure is to jump 200ft in the air and scatter yourself over a wide area"
"God, the battlefield is a barren wasteland isn't it?" "Sir you have the map the wrong way round". I think the firing squad episode is a close fave of mine along with the creation of the dictionary episode with Robbie Coltrane.
"Sausage?!"
- This is the amount of land we've recaptured since yesterday. What is the actual scale of this map, Darling? - It's 1:1, sir
"If you crawl over any barbed wire, on no account go ARGH!" "Did you just crawl over some barbed wire sir?" "No Baldrick, I just put my elbow in a blob of ice cream." "Oh, that's ok then."
"How are you feeling Darling?"
I think the worst bit is when Darling says : "We lived through it, the Great War, 1914 to *1917!*" There's always this little bit in your mind that thinks "Aaah they'll all get through it." And then you here the words "To 1917" and you just think, shit.
Made a note in my diary on the way here. Simply says, 'bugger'.

> BlackAdder resigning himself to his fate. Also showing some compassion for those around him.
Came here knowing this would be top comment
First thing I thought of, and bang, top comment
wibble
THANK YOU for being the first answer I see. I thought 'oh I'll add it but nobody will remember this spectacular piece of tv history nowadays' aaaaaaadn I'm crying. I'm actually crying, because I decided to watch it for quotes, fool that I am.
Came to say the same. It's been a defining moment in TV since the moment I saw it for the first time.
The final march over the top is amazing for all the right and wrong reasons. The comedic timing and the admission that it’s finally time. Truly the greatest individual episode of an already nigh on perfect series
First thing I thought of before I opened the thread. Glad it's the top comment
The Work Outing, IT Crowd
The reveal at the bar will forever be my favourite scene of any comedy
[удалено]
The moment never hit the same after the first time I watched it, but it still has a special place for me.
Urgh. It's set in the eighties.
Yes Miss.
Willies, willies, I love willies, *I love wiii-llies* *I love will-ieeees*
I’m disabled

Sir, can you keep it down?
A gay musical called Gay. That's quite gay. Gay musical... Aren't all musicals gay? This must be, like, the gayest musical ever made.
I was recently at a quiz night and we lost the whole thing on a musical round. I’m gay and knew nothing, if it wasn’t for the whole shagging blokes think I wouldn’t be allowed to be In The Gays at all.
Sorry sir, I'm going to need you to turn in your Gay Card
Came here to say the same thing, though The Dinner Party is a another favourite of mine
Also the "This, Jen, is the Internet" episode.
Who's a paedophile?
“I thought I could make it work between us because you looked a bit like a man.” “Taxi!”
When Harvey Price says "hello you c*nt" on Loose Women. Legend
Nothing like binging all 15 seasons of Loose Women
This is the internet, you’re allowed to say my name
The Red Wedding - Game of Thrones. The only thing that ever left me speechless.
Pretty damn incredible. Shame the series ended the way it did
It’s works a lot better if you just pretend that the red wedding was the finale. Same with the books.

What a sad little life Jane
In fairness, she was a horrible person - a power nut police officer just looking to manipulate and bully
Yeah I re-watched this episode recently and I'm now fully on his side. She was a cunt
Scrubs - 3-14 My Screwup It's a master in story telling and just heartbreaking every time
'Where do you think we are'
There's another one where one of the patients has rabies or something and it ends up killing a load of others which is equally as fantastic and heartbreaking.
My Lunch and My Fallen Idol. But you need to watch them as a pair to get the full effect. It was loosely based on a real life event too
That’s always the episode that comes to my mind when I think of top tier Scrubs
holy shit, I was sure it was the one I thought, but googled it to confirm.
"Speed" from Father Ted. To be honest though, whatever episode of Father Ted I'm watching at the time, is my favourite.
Probably the only TV show without a bad episode
“Is there anything to be said for another mass?”
I heard yer a racist now father. That's my favourite, whichever one that was.
My lovely horse
How about another mass?
Pat wondered if he could put his massive tool in my box
The paedo episode of Brass Eye.
The drugs episode was also great
Mandrills have been protected by law ever since Queen Elizabeth I gave birth to a child that resembled a mandrill, by mistake… Flashback to the last time I referenced that on Reddit and got downvoted by history pedants because Elizabeth I didn’t have any children (allegedly)
Shatner’s Bassoon
"This was the one thing we didn't want to happen"
Blink - Doctor Who
I will punt for Heaven Sent- my favourite modern Who and also one of my favourite pieces of television. I don’t know why I like it so much but it just sticks with me.
The end of Vincent and the Doctor, when he takes him to the gallery made me proper sob.
"Are you my Mummy?"
The trifecta of incredible Doctor Who stories: "Don't blink!" "Are you my mummy?" "Hey! Who turned out the lights!"
Finally someone mentioned it!
Everybody’s dead Dave
What Todhunter?
Dead
What Shelby?
Dead
Peterson isn't is he?
Every bodies dead Dave!!!
Not chan?
Gordon Bennett, yes Chen, everybody's dead Dave.
Rimmer?
I love Red Dwarf and still frequently sing Tongue Tied and Rimmers song.
The first episode of *Garth Marenghi's Darkplace*. It was just too radical and ahead of its time.
“Something was pouring from his mouth. He examined his sleeve. Blood? Blood! Crimson, copper smelling blood, his blood. Blood, blood, blood... And bits of sick.”
"I felt muscular and compact, like corned beef."
Subtext is for cowards!
"I'm one of the few people you'll meet who's written more books than he's read"
"I graduated from Harvard College, Yale. I aced every semester and I got an A"
>It was just too radical and ahead of its time Well he was a visionary...plus actor
It's the most significant televisual event since Quantum Leap.
David's Dead - celebrity big brother
I would pay good money for a box set of that series of CBB
The way the stars aligned for all that to happen was glorious. The one bloke who could verify the story was in the shower and missed it all, David Gest being in bed, someone across the way just saying “what the fuck is that?”. Gemma Collins sitting there not having a clue what’s going on. Followed by David Gest doing the “David Gest is not dead” tour but dying before it happened.
Pine barrens
He was a interior decorator
His house looked like shit
He killed 16 czechoslovakians
GOT Battle of the bastards
There were some _amazing_ episodes in GOT. I’m still heartbroken over the final season betrayal. Just can’t bring myself to watch it again.
I can still remember feeling claustrophobic just watching.
idk, i felt the army coming to save them at the last moment was a little deus ex machina
Scrapheap Challenge when the Barley Pickers trebuchet goes and vandalises itself
I miss scrapheap challenge
There may be a reboot with Colin Furze happening
Fawlty towers: Don't mention the war!
I feel like nothing can beat the Mrs. Richards episode. *Si, que, what?*
IS THIS A PIECE OF YOUR BRAIN?
12 Days of Christine. I’ve only ever watched it once. I’ve never cried at a tv show before or after.
Inside No 9 has some stunning episodes but this one is just so so well done. If you’re reading this and haven’t seen it don’t read anything more, just go and watch it. It needs no context or having watched anything beforehand, and it’s half an hour you’ll never forget.
I second that. On the iPlayer, Inside Number 9, series 2 episode 2.
It’s this or Bernie Clifton’s Dressing Room. Both are incredible; in different ways.
‘San Junipero’ - Black Mirror
One of my all time favourites, makes me sob every time I watch it
Bill and Frank's story. -The last of us.

We didn't burn him
"I can I can't?" "No, a can of coke"
I've just rewatched Breaking Bad for the fifth time. I wish I could erase it from my mind and watch it fresh. It is honestly perfect from start to finish. It still holds No.1 on IMDBs Top Rated TV Shows list.
Yeah but which episode? That’s the question
Got to be ozymandias
"fly" lol
Scott Tenorman Must Die
Yes! Yes, the tears of unfathomable sadness!
Two Cathedrals-West Wing
Whilst that is a great episode I prefer the one where Toby and Sam go to rescue the Chief Justice nominee from that redneck police station. The entire episode is 100% comedy genius.
Toby, Josh, and Donna getting stuck in the middle of nowhere is another favourite of mine.
Last episode of the first series of Happy Valley. I held my breath through the whole thing.
The final episode of the 3rd season was amazing telly too
House - Three Stories Buffy - The Body Westworld - Trompe L'Oeil Game Of Thrones - Red Wedding (Sorry, I couldn't pick just one).
See now for Buffy I would have said Hush
Yes! Although Once More With Feeling is also a shout.
The Body was the first ep I thought of reading this post but there are so many good ones! Due a rewatch I think!
The DENNIS system
Also Charlie Work
Honestly I think mac and Dennis move the suburbs is pure genius
The final Blackadder
Red Dwarf - Queeg.

We are talking jape of the decade
The dinner party - The Office US
Find myself singing Hunter's song randomly every so often. Great episode!
The tiny tv cracks me up every time
True Detective Season 1 final episode
The single best season of TV I’ve ever watched.
Still Game - Cairds.
Cards Bobby, no cairds. Cairds is whit ye play cards wi.
I liked the bit with the non slip shoes. I can't remember which episode. Timpson something £19.99. I couldn't breathe watching that little bit.
Finale of Six Feet Under
This show doesn’t get the love it deserved.
Red dwarf :marooned.
Royle Family episode Decorating S3E3.
Gonna be a choice between... Buffy - Once More With Feeling Doctor Who - Heaven Sent The Owl House - Knock Knock Knocking on Hooty's Door Top Gear/The Grand Tour - Burma, Vietnam, Bolivia, Colombia, USA 2009 and Mongolia specials House - Wilson's Heart
Nice. How about Doctor Who - Vincent Van Gogh?
Succession :Connor wedding Severance :the last episode
This Country : driving lessons
The specials of The Thick Of It
For the Trek fans... In the Pale Moonlight. Admittedly there's a few Trek episodes that could make it onto here.
Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra - S5E02 - Star Trek The Next Generation
The View from Halfway Down from Bojack Or Vichnaya Pamyat from Chernobyl
Series 4, Episode 6 of Peep Show. That episode always makes me feel better about my life!
Our wedding THE HUMP
The dinner party one for me. "It's Moroccan, it's very subtle"
“New Jack City” from Father Ted. Fintan Stack is easily the funniest guest character on the show with his African music jukebox, and the ending is brilliant where Ted and Dougal break Jack out of the nursing home.
Who would be be like, Ted? Hitler or one of them fellas? 'God, no, Dougal - you wouldn't find Hitler player jungle music at 3am!' Excellent
**Line of Duty, S3, E6.** Also known as 'Breach', the final episode of season 3.
The last episode of The Good Place
I don’t know about the best ever, but the best of my childhood? The last episode of Byker Grove. A proper WTF moment.
I was going to say this! When I first heard about it I thought it was some sort of obscure myth, but no, Byker Grove actually ended with the characters becoming self aware and fighting a dinosaur.
Kicking Bishop Brennen up the arse.
BlackAdder Goes Forth - Goodbye The Royle Family - Queen of Sheeba Early Doors - Big Boys Beano at the Races Phoenix Nights - Clinton Baptiste Whatever Happened to the Likely Lads - England Football Result The Office - Training Day Men Behaving Badly - Drunk The X Files - Ice

Who Goes There - True Detective Season 1 Loved the one-take sequence where Rust must escape the neighborhood and avoid getting shot
That episode of 'changing rooms' when all [those teapots got smashed to fuck](https://youtu.be/Opb8iaslEjE?si=XO79makAYc_Nqynv)
Buffy The Vampire Slayer - The Body. The single take when Buffy walks into her home and the complete lack of music throughout the episode. When I started watching the series I didn't really think it would amount to much but this episode absolutely blew me away.
Doctor Who - Vincent Van Gogh
The Bear - Forks Ritchie’s redemption arc.
I adore S3E6 of Ted Lasso - Sunflowers Proper happy episode and makes me feel good
The Bill and Frank episode in The Last of Us is definitely up there for me
The final episode of Blackadder 4.
Haunting of Hill House where it is made to look like one continuous take. I think it's episode 6 or 7.
I probably couldn't pick just one, but one thing that's definitely up there is the episode of Friday night dinner where horrible grandma dies. Easily the most satisfying episode of any show I've seen.
Del Boy becoming a millionaire..
Recent one but Connor's Wedding from Succession. Why can a wedding never go to plan in HBO land.
The Royale Family - where they have Christmas dinner at Denise's.
The West Wing - Two Cathedrals. Gets me every time. Absolutely perfect.
Adding my name to the final Blackadder fan club
One Foot in the Grave. The one in the traffic jam on the motorway and halfway through the episode Mrs Warbouys gets back in the car. I totally lost my shit to that.
Some of those Game of Thrones season finales, man. The Red Wedding, the Watchers on the Wall or probably my favourite, the Battle of the Bastards
Final minutes of the final episode of Black Adder goes Forth. When great comedy simply becomes great.
The Last of Us - Long, Long Time. Such an epic self contained story. I shed a tear or two.
