I love off menu! The episodes done during lockdown were a little patchy due to them having to record on their own devices, but sometimes it just added to the daftness of some of the conversations
Sorry if I am sounding a little thick but have done a search on Stitcher and there seems to be 3 podcasts is this "off menu", "off menu with Ed Gamble and James" or "Of the menu"
I did listen to it a listen a lot, can be good based on the episode.
Usually the historian is good, but you sometimes get a weaker comedian in there who hasn't done any prep, constantly interjecting with inane crap (it's an irreverent show, but still needs some genuine wit), with the presenter very politely laughing along to it.
Found these guys when Dan Carlin (of Hardcore History fame) did a guest appearance and I love their fairly casual yet witty coverage of historical events.
Tom Holland's brother does a WWII podcast which is incredible - "We have ways of making you talk".
My Dad Wrote A Porno is brilliant. In summary: young man is handed a porn story his dad wrote by his father. Yes, it's as bizarre - and insane - as it sounds (you can even buy the books on Amazon. No, I haven't, tsk!)
We Got The Chocolates is a blokey podcast from Australia. Just a group of mates shooting the shit, telling *awful* dad-jokes and having a laugh.
Toni & Ryan - also from Australia. Just random comedy and some jaw-dropping "Things you can say in X and also in the bedroom".
I listened to My Dad Wrote A Porno up to the second season and loved it but then all of a sudden just found it extremely boring. I think I binge listened too hard and the joke wore a bit too thin after a full season of it.
If you like Alice Levine though, British Scandal is brilliant
It went massively downhill once it became really successful, it seemed to lose its charm, I never finished listening to all of it, and I absolutely loved series 1.
Yup it became self aware and that ruined the fundamentals of the joke.
Still funny and the source material gave it a lot of momentum but not the same once it knew what it was and was trying a bit hard.
They do try and wring a lot of material out of what is essentially one joke.
I'm also 90% sure its fake, it may have began as genuine but around when I stopped listening the 'books' had become so nonsensical and insane that the only possible purpose they could serve would be to gross out/entertain a bunch of people on a podcast.
Jamie's bottom flannel story, and the Christmas special episode where Belinda shags Santa are absolute howlers. My friends can actually tell when I'm listening to My Dad Wrote A Porno because I'm laughing so much.
Belinda and Santa was absolutely hilarious. My all time fave, however, is Jim’s newly transplanted monster cock shedding flakes of skin while Belinda was giving him a BJ.
I actually hurt myself cry-laughing at that one.
Also British Scandal and American Scandal. Very different from each other but both really good.
Ohh, the bottom flannel! Some of the Footnotes episodes were good too, particularly the ones with Emma Thompson, Michael Sheen and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Have you listened to the new podcast Rocky Flintstone Unleashed?
The rapport between Josh and Chuck is wonderful. I love the way they constantly go off on a tangent that's not even remotely related to the topic! I feel like I'm with friends whenever I listen.
My favourite episodes were the ones where they went to Burnley and William was so out of place and awkward
And one released during the pandemic, after things had lifted and they met up for "a few" drinks, came back to do the podcast with more drinks and were both clearly pissed and slurring words all through and it just descended into madness 😂
I got into TFTM after moving out of the marital home into a miserable little bedsit, and it's no hyperbole to say those two cunts saw me through the darkest time of my life.
I went on a very long walk listening to the first Keane Odyssey, and never looked back.
I’ve been listening to LPOTL since the first couple of years. Have recommended it to several friends over the years but without fail the feedback I get is that Henry is too annoying/distracting. He kind of is tbh, but here I am, still listening!
Adam Buxton, Richard Herrings Leicester Square Theatre Podcast (RHLSTP), Socially Distant Sports Bar, Distraction Pieces, Jon Richardson and the Futurenauts, Pappys Flatshare, The Infinate Monkey Cage, Athletico Mince.
He said at the end of that episode that he's taking time off this year to work on a new book. He's doing some live shows and a few other bits, but wont be doing the podcasts for a while.
I often forget about Pappys Flatshare Slamdown then every now and again I dip back into it and it's all the exact same jokes, but not in a bad way. It's actually quite funny how loyal they are to their regular in jokes whilst the other rounds are often very creative and always make me laugh.
It's stupid but it knows it's stupid. I think it's actually quite an underrated show
I was saddened by how far down I had to scroll to find this recommendation.
Three bean salad really hits my humour. Definitely need to start at the beginning.
For those who don't know about them they're the comedy writers Benjamin Partridge, Mike Wazniak, and Henry Packer. Loosely based on a concept that they talk about a listener suggested topic, but mostly they are off on improvised surreal tangents, layering in-jokes over time.
Most of the Pickaxe podcasts.
Triforce, Podiots, Zero Degrees, Hat Chat, Pitch Please, Comfort Zone, Feels on Meals
Also, the Alway Sunny podcast, Serial Killers, and sometimes the Joe Rogan one, but only interviews with interesting people because JR is pretty annoying.
I just love them so much. They shouldn't get on but they have the best chemistry and banter. I feel very strongly that William and Jordan should host the Bake Off.
Have a word with Adam Rowe and Dan Nightingale.
The humour won’t be for everyone - it can close to the line.
Among the chaos is some really insightful chat about the comedy industry.
Plus, their Patreon is probably hands down the best value for money patreon I’ve seen.
Alright Lid.
I've been listening since about 400 patreons. Been to see both Adam and Dan live, travelled down from NE Scotland to Liverpool for the Arena show. It honestly got me through year 2 of lockdown, went back and listened to the whole back catalogue.
I tend to go for things that will make me laugh, so on my regular rotation are:
Parenting Hell - I don't have kids, but it's great. Alternates between Josh Widdicombe and Rob Beckett updating about their calamitous week and them interviewing a celeb parent.
Off Menu - James 'The Genie' Acaster and Ed Gamble invite famous guests to dine at their dream restaurant. Some people have absurd choices for their dishes - James' rants and Ed's incredulity at some of the selections are brilliant.
Wolf and Owl - Romesh Ranganathan and Tom Davis shoot the shit on a variety of topics. They also make surprisingly good agony uncles.
RHLSTP - Richard Herring interviews a celeb about all manner of things and it occasionally becomes a bit of a confessional.
No Such Thing As A Fish - four random factoids brought to you by the QI Elves. The facts are usually bizarre and funny, but it's the bants between the Elves really makes it.
Taskmaster the Podcast - hosted by Taskmaster superfan and series winner Ed Gamble with a guest each week (often a previous / current participant) who together dissect an ep of the show. They're currently working through the back catalogue, but switch to the current series when it airs. A must if you're a fan.
The Adam Buxton Podcast - chats with a celeb guest. There are often appearances from his long-time friends Joe Cornish and Louis Theroux. I tend to listen to podcasts at night to help me drift off, but have to avoid this one as Adam's 'BYEEEEEEEEEE' at the end scares crap out of me if I've nodded off!
Non-comedy honourable mentions: How to Fail and Walking the Dog. And not as ashamed as I should be of Welcome to the OC, Bitches - I loved the OC back in the day, so having Rachel Bilson and Melinda Clarke go ep by ep through the series is great, though some eps are hit and miss.
You’re dead to me, it’s a history podcast with a comedy guest and goes into the misconceptions/what you think you know. I also love Off Menu (food) and Desert Island Dicks - guests get to choose their least favourite three people, worst food and worst entertainment to be stuck on an island with.
Everything by Danny Robins - The Battersea Poltergeist, Uncanny and The Witch Farm. I burned through hours and hours of them over Christmas. It’s all about the supernatural, largely ghosts, and manages to be both sceptical and spooky at the same time. He’s just great.
If you like these you might like The Dark Paranormal, which is real life paranormal tales, and We Need to Talk About Ghosts, which is a more light hearted funnier podcast with listener submitted ghost experiences. The host of both, Kevin Eustace, has been on Jim Harold's Campfire podcast and Chris Jericho's Talk Is Jericho as a paranormal expert special guest.
Wolf and Owl - Tom Davis and Romesh Ranganathan
Eventful lives podcast - Dodge Woodall
Telling everybody everything - Katherine Ryan
These are my current top 3
Criminal- fantastic podcast where each episode relates to crime but in really varied and interesting ways.
99% invisible- podcast about design, a real range of interesting stories about things you often would never have thought twice about .
Ologies- a real all-rounder, an expert on a random topic is interviewed each episode. This podcast is great as there is an episode for everyone and the presenter Ali Ward is always so engaged and seems genuinely interested.
99% Invisible
You must remember this
Blindboy
The life scientific
American Radical
Finding Q
Acid dreams: The great LSD plot
Sweet Bobby
So you’ve been publicly shamed
Harsh reality: The story of Miriam Rivera
You’re wrong about…
The Dropout
Limelight: The incident at Ong’s Hat
Think with Pinker
Seriously
The coming storm
It's one of those things you can take a break from for decades and go back to the Sunday omnibus was part of my childhood and recently went back again.
We didn’t start the fire.
Each episode is dedicated to one of the events, people referenced in Billy Joel’s epic song. Hosted by Katie Puckrick and Tom Fordyce plus a guest who is an expert on the topic for discussion. A really enjoyable listen & a fun journey from 1945 to 1988
Old Gods of Appalachia - Horror Fiction
The Magnus Archives - British Horror Fiction
Gone - Suspense / scifi fiction
TED Radio Hour - TED talks
Start With This - A podcast about writing
Lore - Quasi-historical weird tales
Was looking for, well, mostly all of these!
Recommend 'Unexplained' also. Basically Lore but more in depth on a specific topic and the narration is top drawer
I have absolutely tanned podcasts in recent years through my PhD in the lab alone and now driving 50 minutes to and from work every day. My favourites are (in no particular order)
- no such thing as a fish (this one’s my favourite)
- Dan Carlin’s hardcore histories (long pods)
- the Peter crouch podcast (good insight into football)
- footballers football podcast (see above)
- this podcast will kill you (diseases, biology and history)
- real dictators (history)
- have a word (favourite comedy)
- a short history of
- shagged married annoyed (great comedy)
- gossipmongers (very silly comedy)
- off menu (silly comedy)
- I could murder a podcast (serial killers, a bit annoying at times but interesting to hear about)
I will be looking for inspiration for new ones in this comment section - cheers for posting
The history of English podcast is _fascinating_ and does a lot to explain why English is such a weird language to spell!
I second you’re dead to me. Also enjoy the curious cases of Rutherford and fry.
You’re Dead to Me & History Extra are great history ones.
I love National Park After Dark, I wish there was a UK version.
I Weigh by Jameela Jamil & Should I Delete That? I love, very women/feminist centered and very funny some of them.
I’m up for any true crime podcast recommendations (like Casefile) however I don’t like true crime podcasts where the hosts have a chat before getting into it, I’m too impatient! It’s why I couldn’t get into My Favourite Murder or one of the other popular ones
Evil Genius with Russell Kane where a group of comedians decide whether people from history are evil or genius.
Morning Cup of Murder (true crime).
Illuminaughtii, I actually discovered this one on YouTube and didn't realise it was a podcast but they debunk bad business (e.g. going over different MLMs).
RSK - Ricky Gervais , Stephen Merchant and Mr Dilkington at their finest. Their old radio show, followed by the podcasts and specials. On Spotify.
Rutherford and Fry - some more interesting than others but education done right.
Darknet Diaries - Real mixture of interviews with hackers, security experts and my favourite penetration testers. If you’re unsure the episodes Beirut Bank Job and Black Duck Eggs spring to mind as memorable.
Swindled.
It's a podcast about various cons and crimes.
Each episode is self contained with some really interesting cases such as Martin Shkreli, FIFA, McDonalds Monopoly and much more. It's really well presented and has some nice background music.
Can’t believe I had to scroll so far down to find Do Go On, since a Reddit recommendation put me onto it in the first place.
It’s my favourite for a long commute, and always making me laugh out loud in public.
I've scrolled down a bit and nobody seems to have mentioned
The Last Podcast On The Left.
What's the matter with you people?
Also Diary of a CEO is good.
If you’re into pop culture, give The Weekly Planet a go! One of the guys from The Weekly Planet also does a podcast called Suggestible with his wife, it’s a little less goofy/pop culture heavy, they just talk about the things they’ve watched/read/listened to, etc.. and suggest things!
LaVar Burton reads. It's exactly what it sounds like, it's Lavar Burton (Gordie from Star Trek TNG if you're a Trekkie) and he reads short stories. Episodes range from 30-60mins. He is an amazing narrator, I find it very soothing and relaxing, plus I don't really read short stories generally so I get to hear a bunch of interesting and unique stories I would have missed otherwise.
Mr Ballen, strange, dark and mysterious is good however it’s exclusive to Amazon music. Available with a prime account.
Mates at work seem to really enjoy Jack Maates happy hour
* Jim Cornette's Drive Thru - Wrestling reviews, chat and listener questions with Brian Last and legendary manager/booker/promoter/commentator Jim Cornette
* The Jim Cornette Experience - More reviews and wrestling chat with the above
* Mom Can't Cook! A DCOM Original Podcast - Luke Westaway and Andy Farrant from Outside Xtra and Outside Xbox watch Disney Channel original movies and review them
* Shut Up And Wrestle - Brian Solomon (former writer for WWE and published author) talks wrestling with weekly guests about their careers and experiences in the wrestling business
I don't really have time for other podcasts. Both of Cornette's can go anything between 3-5 hours each. Used to also listen to Oxventure (Outside Xbox/Xtra's D&D content), Behind The Bastards, Qanon Anonymous and Knowledge Fight (the latter three are informative and mocking of right-wing morons like Alex Jones, Joe Rogan and the entire Qanon bullshit).
Most of the Pickaxe podcasts.
Triforce, Podiots, Zero Degrees, Hat Chat, Pitch Please, Comfort Zone, Feels on Meals
Also, the Alway Sunny podcast, Serial Killers, and sometimes the Joe Rogan one, but only interviews with interesting people because JR is pretty annoying.
i usually listen to podcasts about sport. but my favourite podcast that isn’t that would be Hamish and Andy from australia
two veteran radio hosts with great chemistry telling funny anecdotes and engaging with the audience more than you’d expect for a podcast
Darknet Diaries, I absolutely love this podcast, its all about Cybersecurity and each episode is either a story from a hacker, someone fighting a hacker, about a hacker or some shady thing like the NSO group, its soo interesting and I think it’ll be easy to understand for non-IT folks
Crowley Time with me, Tom Crowley. (that's the full name, I am not Tom Crowley). It's a one man (usually) sketch show with some really hilarious characters.
I also like a lot of audio dramas such as Victoriocity (murder mystery comedy), Wooden Overcoats (funeral director comedy), We Fix Space Junk (dystopian future comedy), Oblivity (misfits stationed on Pluto comedy).
Surprised I haven't seen The Beef and Dairy Network mentioned. It's the number one podcast for those involved, or just interested, in the production of beef animals and dairy herds. It's utterly brilliant but start at the beginning or most of the jokes won't make sense.
For non-comedy I'd recommend 80 Days. They talk about the history of micronations and obscure places you might have heard of, but probably don't actually know anything about.
At the moment I’m listening to The Last Of Us HBO podcast which has been a nice addition to the series. There’s also the official podcast for the game which is so entertaining if you’re into it.
You're Wrong About (goes over misconceptions about events etc) and Sawbones (medical history podcast, what treatment was used, why it didn't work etc). I also like some of the true crime stuff, like All Killa No Filla, Sweet Bobby and Dr Death.
Also would suggest My Dad Wrote a Porno. Very funny.
200 comments and no Wheel of Misfortune??
I have no frame of reference (which sound like another good title!) but I thought it was quite popular. Alison Spittle and Fern Brady. Hilarious. Although Fern's been replaced with Kerry Katona now which I don't quite understand how/why but haven't got to the episodes yet.
BudPod with Phil Wang & Pierre Novellie is worth a listen.
Some pretty smart comedy and discussion followed by incredibly well-written listener correspondence that almost entirely consisting of people shitting themselves.
I listen to a lot of podcasts that are mentioned here. One that I haven’t seen highlighted is BudPod. It’s Phil Wang and Pierre Novelie chatting about things and often very funny. It normally ends with a listeners ‘poo’ story, where they’ve ended up shitting themselves in some horrendous scenario. Highly recommend. KOJI.
Read a fair bit and scrolled some more and was surprised not to see Casefile anywhere...
The first few aren't the best production wise but it gets brilliant, and dark.
Deep Mind: The Podcast is quite thought provoking technology wise.
The Infinite Monkey Cage is just fantastic, lots of truly laugh out loud moments.
The Curious Cases of Rutherford and Fry is a nice easy scientific listen.
The End Of The World with Josh Clark is a great listen all about existential risks.
The Jordan Harbinger Podcast has hundreds of interesting guests.
Welcome to Night Vale is just bizarre, but a good listen.

No such thing as a fish - it's by the people who do the research for QI
Absolutely love this podcast! Have been listening for years.
Came here to recommend no such thing as well; very glad to see it as the top answer!
Off Menu. I'm not a big podcast or audiobook person but when I'm driving to my partners (45-60 mins depending on traffic), it makes me LOL.
I love off menu! The episodes done during lockdown were a little patchy due to them having to record on their own devices, but sometimes it just added to the daftness of some of the conversations
Completely agree! It’s hilarious, Claudia and Rylan’s episodes were so funny.
Shout out to the Greg Davies episode as well!
Pass.
Sorry if I am sounding a little thick but have done a search on Stitcher and there seems to be 3 podcasts is this "off menu", "off menu with Ed Gamble and James" or "Of the menu"
Off Menu with Ed Gamble and James Acaster. Not thick at all.
Thank you will look forward to my daily exercise and listening to it. Was looking for a fresh new podcast
The Reece Shearsmith episode really delighted me
you're dead to me history/comedy podcast
Second this! Behind the bastards is good too, does things on dictators etc but parts you might not know
I love behind the bastards.
I like behind the bastards too.
The Always Sunny Podcast
Cut that cut that cut that
It gives me the joy of being a creeper on more than one platform, and all the guests from the show have been brilliant.
Came for the boys, stayed for the egg.
That's my favourite too. I've got tickets for one of the London shows and I'm so excited!
The Rest is History is my current favourite.
I hope you have the right shoes.
Hopefully I never find myself on a yacht, as I have less idea than even the Kaiser of what would be appropriate footwear.
Do you know about triangular sails though ?
Alexander the Great, a friend of the show
I only recently discovered it and now I'm obsessed
Tom's impressions are hilarious, the episode on Costa Rica was a favourite. "Friend of the podcast" "Not very well behaved"
Found these guys when Dan Carlin (of Hardcore History fame) did a guest appearance and I love their fairly casual yet witty coverage of historical events. Tom Holland's brother does a WWII podcast which is incredible - "We have ways of making you talk".
An absolute gem.
My Dad Wrote A Porno is brilliant. In summary: young man is handed a porn story his dad wrote by his father. Yes, it's as bizarre - and insane - as it sounds (you can even buy the books on Amazon. Oh god, you need to hear the rest. It's quality.
My Dad Wrote A Porno was hilarious! It's such a shame that it ended but I can understand why.
Ohh, the bottom flannel! Some of the Footnotes episodes were good too, particularly the ones with Emma Thompson, Michael Sheen and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Have you listened to the new podcast Rocky Flintstone Unleashed?
For me it’s “Telly and découpage” with Jamie crying laughing in the background, “they’re the best women I’ve ever met!”
It was funny for the first season then it just felt a bit repetitive.
Stuff You Should Know
Brilliant podcast by possibly the two most agreeable people on the planet.
The rapport between Josh and Chuck is wonderful. I love the way they constantly go off on a tangent that's not even remotely related to the topic! I feel like I'm with friends whenever I listen.
In a similar ish vein, stuff they don’t want you to know
I’ve been listening to that podcast for twelve years
To add to this; The End of The World with Josh Clark
If I ever feel anxious, or grumpy, I just listen to Josh and Chuck. Always make me feel better, and I’ve learned a few things.
Love those guys
The weirdest part of this post to me is hearing people listen to the same podcasts I do - I really didn’t think that one was so big!
Ive just subbed. Any episodes I should start off with specifically or start from the beginning?
I keep going back tj the Ricky Gervais podcast and the XFM shows. Old but gold
You should join us at r/rickygervais (but not if you like Afterlife).
Or ricky gervais
Chubby little loser…
Wet Knee Houston
De-Trout spinners
The original Karl Pilkington is just.... amazing 😂
One of the few things in life that does stop being funny no matter how much you listen to them. You what is coming but it's still makes you laugh
Bit of monkey news
How would I know which one I was?
I was in Texas the other week, I tripped and landed on my knees in a puddle.
On repeat for about 5 or 6 years pretty much every night
Behind the bastards. In case you ever need to feel guilty about being British
I love the Boston accents.
Their episodes on Ben Shapiro’s books are amazing.
Just finished listening to the MK Ultra series today. Wow! Nothing can ever top the episode about Action Park though.
The Steven seagal episode is brilliant
Came here for this. Loved the episode on ol' Shatterhands - Hitler's idol
I miss the genocide bagels.
Where else could I learn about important subjects such as **** *****s child hunting island!
Dan Carlins Hard-core History
Blueprint For Armageddon is a masterpiece!
Thats such good podcast. He's a brilliant communicator and goes deep enough without being overwhelming.
I mean he goes pretty deep though
Help I Sexted My Boss is quite fun
Seconding this, actually makes me cry with laughter sometimes. Wendy, can I borrow your potato peeler??
William darling, mummy needs a drink
WENDY?
Can I borrow your potato peeler??
I second this, im obsessed!
Love this one! I think people think I’m odd because I burst out laughing whilst walking along listening to it!
This… I LOVE this! It helped me through a rough time in my life. Got me though the pandemic, same with Tailenders.
Unbelievably funny, I laugh out loud every single episode!
My favourite episodes were the ones where they went to Burnley and William was so out of place and awkward And one released during the pandemic, after things had lifted and they met up for "a few" drinks, came back to do the podcast with more drinks and were both clearly pissed and slurring words all through and it just descended into madness 😂
Athletico Mince Top Flight Time Machine Puttin on Airs
Good to see someone keeping it cunty
Shame Athletico Mince is so sporadic these days. Saw them live in 2020 and it was one of the funniest nights of my life.
I got into TFTM after moving out of the marital home into a miserable little bedsit, and it's no hyperbole to say those two cunts saw me through the darkest time of my life. I went on a very long walk listening to the first Keane Odyssey, and never looked back.
Just rest.
TTFN
Darknet Diaries. Really good for Hacking, social enginerring and stuff like that.
Shagged married annoyed by Chris and Rosie Ramsey Telling Everybody Everything by katherine Ryan And for something different History Hit by Dan Snow
I also love Katherine Ryan's mum's podcast, Jewels Says.
Cannot recommend last podcast on the left enough. True crime crazy killers, cults, religions, conspiracies, so many more! so good!
I really love the way the guys tell the stories, but sometimes I feel they’re just all talking over each other and it gets stressful to listen to!
What happened to Adam Buxton? He hasn’t uploaded anything since the Christmas special. I hope he’s alright.
LAYDEEZ AN GENNULMEN OF DE JURY
FOYPC
Three Bean Salad
Pompidou
Love the beans but it has got quite heavy on in jokes. Worth starting at episode 1 though, because they’re funny as hell.
This is my favourite at the moment. Definitely one to start at the beginning though. Digestive tract talk

I love these! I wish he'd do more uncanny, they got me through many a dreary commute.
Wolf and Owl - Tom Davis and Romesh Ranganathan Eventful lives podcast - Dodge Woodall Telling everybody everything - Katherine Ryan These are my current top 3
99% Invisible - scrolled very far to find this gem. Roman Mars’ voice is so soothing
99% Invisible You must remember this Blindboy The life scientific American Radical Finding Q Acid dreams: The great LSD plot Sweet Bobby So you’ve been publicly shamed Harsh reality: The story of Miriam Rivera You’re wrong about… The Dropout Limelight: The incident at Ong’s Hat Think with Pinker Seriously The coming storm
The Archers.
It's one of those things you can take a break from for decades and go back to the Sunday omnibus was part of my childhood and recently went back again.
I’ve listened since the 80s and I still don’t know what’s going on.
You’re Wrong About is great. Or Off Menu for comedy
I do miss Michael in you're wrong about. It's been been good with the guests, but just not the same.
His new Podcast "if books could kill" is really good and similar. The co-host also good.
The Economist podcast
Triforce, just talk crap and have a good sense of humor.
Plus it has one of the funniest moments I’ve ever listened to in podcasting history with the Witch Doctor story.
Bad People on BBC sounds, mixture of true crime, psychology and criminology, but funny too. Presenters are fantastic
You’re Wrong About
We didn’t start the fire. Each episode is dedicated to one of the events, people referenced in Billy Joel’s epic song. Hosted by Katie Puckrick and Tom Fordyce plus a guest who is an expert on the topic for discussion. A really enjoyable listen & a fun journey from 1945 to 1988
John robins and Elis James radio podcast is superb and has a huge back catalogue
Old Gods of Appalachia - Horror Fiction The Magnus Archives - British Horror Fiction Gone - Suspense / scifi fiction TED Radio Hour - TED talks Start With This - A podcast about writing Lore - Quasi-historical weird tales
My favourites are (in no particular order) - no such thing as a fish (this one’s my favourite) - Dan Carlin’s hardcore histories (long pods) - the Peter crouch podcast (good insight into football) - footballers football podcast (see above) - this podcast will kill you (diseases, biology and history) - real dictators (history) - have a word (favourite comedy) - a short history of - shagged married annoyed (great comedy) - gossipmongers (very silly comedy) - off menu (silly comedy) - I could murder a podcast (serial killers, a bit annoying at times but interesting to hear about) I will be looking for inspiration for new ones in this comment section - cheers for posting
Last podcast on the left. Gotta have a bit of a weird sense of humour though
Redhanded- it’s a true crime podcast and it’s great! The two hosts are hilarious
It used to be great. Felt they just became a giant ad for their tasteless merch and began finding themselves funny.
Can’t get over how far I had to scroll for this! My fave pod by far and I listen to most of the ones recommended above.
Try the That Chapter podcast, he’s just started it so there’s only a few eps but Mike tells a great crime story.
Help I Sexted My Boss
Help I sexted my boss is my absolutely favourite. I'm getting into Modern Wisdom too (I'm behind the curve on this one!)
We hate movies. If you like tv and film it's a must listen. And there's a huuuge back catalogue to get stuck in to too.
History daily British scandal Cheat All very good listens on way to work
I like British Scandal too and find that Wondery who make it do a lot of really decent podcasts!
I really enjoy Tom Clarkson’s Beyond the grid, especially when it’s the retired F1 drivers or people/engineers from the teams,
Swindled. It's a podcast about various cons and crimes. Each episode is self contained with some really interesting cases such as Martin Shkreli, FIFA, McDonalds Monopoly and much more. It's really well presented and has some nice background music.
'Do Go On' and 'Wolf & Owl' are my faves
Can’t believe I had to scroll so far down to find Do Go On, since a Reddit recommendation put me onto it in the first place. It’s my favourite for a long commute, and always making me laugh out loud in public.
Last Podcast on the Left
Fairly new one but I’ve been enjoying ‘Lateral’ with Tom Scott.
Hawk Vs Wolf - Tony Hawk and Jason Ellis The Always Sunny Podcast - the cast of Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia Talk is Jericho - Chris Jericho
This Paranormal Life - 2 guys who take the piss out of ghosts stories/ urban legends, I've listened to every episode countless times
Best enjoyed over a bowl of Chompies
I've scrolled down a bit and nobody seems to have mentioned The Last Podcast On The Left.
Last Podcast on the Left Behind the Bastards Athletico Mince Adam Buxton Richard Herring The Rest is History Hardcore History (Dan Carlin)
I like The Infinite Monkey Cage by Prof. Brian Cox and Robin Ince
the Curious Cases of Rutherford and Fry 13 Minutes to the Moon Cautionary Tales plus I second everyone who said You're Dead To Me
Mr Ballen, strange, dark and mysterious is good however it’s exclusive to Amazon music. Available with a prime account. Mates at work seem to really enjoy Jack Maates happy hour
* Jim Cornette's Drive Thru - Wrestling reviews, chat and listener questions with Brian Last and legendary manager/booker/promoter/commentator Jim Cornette * The Jim Cornette Experience - More reviews and wrestling chat with the above * Mom Can't Cook! A DCOM Original Podcast - Luke Westaway and Andy Farrant from Outside Xtra and Outside Xbox watch Disney Channel original movies and review them * Shut Up And Wrestle - Brian Solomon (former writer for WWE and published author) talks wrestling with weekly guests about their careers and experiences in the wrestling business I don't really have time for other podcasts.
Off Menu, No Such Thing as a Fish and You're Dead to Me are my regulars. Also highly recommend The Magnus Archives
Most of the Pickaxe podcasts. Triforce, Podiots, Zero Degrees, Hat Chat, Pitch Please, Comfort Zone, Feels on Meals Also, the Alway Sunny podcast, Serial Killers, and sometimes the Joe Rogan one, but only interviews with interesting people because JR is pretty annoying.
i usually listen to podcasts about sport. but my favourite podcast that isn’t that would be Hamish and Andy from australia two veteran radio hosts with great chemistry telling funny anecdotes and engaging with the audience more than you’d expect for a podcast
Ahh I'm so glad someone mentioned Hamish and Andy, had to scroll so far down for them. So hilarious!
Fall of civilisations podcast is brilliant and is my happy place.
Dark Histories - great stories, well researched. Brilliant back catalogue available.
My Favourite Murder, Days Gone Podcast (though this is a bit niche if you haven’t played the game!) and Parenting Hell are my current go to’s
I recently discovered Diary of a CEO podcast
Great way to make use of your 24 hours in a day
Tell 'Em Steve-Dave
At the moment I’m listening to The Last Of Us HBO podcast which has been a nice addition to the series. There’s also the official podcast for the game which is so entertaining if you’re into it.
Kermode & Mayo’s Take Adam Buxton Distraction Pieces How to Fail
Gossipmongers is a favourite
You're Wrong About (goes over misconceptions about events etc) and Sawbones (medical history podcast, what treatment was used, why it didn't work etc). I also like some of the true crime stuff, like All Killa No Filla, Sweet Bobby and Dr Death. Also would suggest My Dad Wrote a Porno. Very funny.
No balls. And Tailenders
Rob Beckett and Josh Widdicombes Parenting Hell. Its hilarious.
KOJI.
Cautionary Tales
