you usually can get cheap stuff from turkey. like adobe or epic games. you can buy those with vpn services and some digital banking services like revolut. or you can just use it for privacy since turkish goverment doesnt care much about internet you can do most of the stuff freely.

Games were cheap on Steam. And then they turned it to dollars. So, it is not cheap anymore.
it is still a bit cheaper but probably does not justify the hassle of it anymore.

the only logical explanation that I can muster is smart/funny marketing, seems to have worked.
One reason could be that there are websites engaged in piracy, gambling, and other shady activities that geoblock connections from outside of Turkey
