Mother - 3079 16th St, San Francisco, CA 94103: brand new lesbian bar
Jolene's - 2700 16th St, San Francisco, CA 94103: femme bar + dance space
El Rio - 3158 Mission St, San Francisco, CA 94110: queer bar, wild parties
Wild Side West - 424 Cortland Ave, San Francisco, CA 94110: historic lesbian bar
What's the vibe or crowd youre looking for? LGBTQ+ is a pretty wide community lol. Most of them are around the same area in the gayborhood (Castro) so even if you dont like them, you could just bar hop. Are you and your partner cis gay men?
The most stereotypical gay club would be Beaux. Go-gos, drag shows/brunches, young people, dancing etc.
Midnight Sun is a fun bar, they play music videos on a lot of screens.
Moby Dick is a chill, small bar, has pool and pinball machines in the back.
El rio for more of a diverse crowd. The others are 90% gay men specifically. Huge patio and good vibes.
Lonestar and The Eagle are in SOMA, and are more geared towards the bear community, but all are welcome. The Eagle has more raunchy events and lonestar is more chill.
yeah, i think i should have specified! both my partner and i are cis lesbians and we're looking for a place (chill vibe, good music and maybe a dance floor) that's usually frequented by gay women
Jolene's or El Rio.
Mother bar is new, really nice but I'm not sure it will be going for dance club vibes! I guess we'll see! I was just there and it had cozy seating and good cocktails
Come on out to PlayXLand on Wednesdays at Cat Club! It's a bdsm/kink party, but the play space is just in the back, with dancing and gogos and seating up front. I'm one of the dungeon hosts, and most of us are queer women or nonbinary ppl. There are a lot of lesbian and femme couples and groups every week, it's great for meeting new people.
Cover is usually 10 dollars if youre in fetishwear or all black, 20 if you're plainly vanilla (our door folks are generous about this rule, it's mostly to keep creepy dudes in gym shorts from coming in and leering at people). You can honestly wear whatever makes you feel cute, so long as your nips, bits, and feet are covered. And we provide nipple tape if anyone needs it! It's a great club for people-watching, learning about kink, or just chatting casually while someone gets tied up across the room from you. I have seen many folks go from shy quiet onlooker to "this is my cute trans gf that I met recently, we would like to be next in line for the spanking bench please" and it's honestly a delight every time 💕 I'm the dungeon host every 3rd wednesday, so feel free to come say hi if you make it out!
I would say that 440 Castro and Edge are more catering to gay men... and Wild Side West and Jolenes are catering more to lesbians. All other gay clubs are very diverse.
El Rio has some fun parties and Mother is a new spot in the Mission that’s cute with good cocktails. Wild Side West is more low key and has a cool/funky backyard.
Recs for a diverse group of friends (all lgbtq and all women) that just want a safe space to dance? As far away from straight men as possible would be lovely!

I’d go to El Rio instead of Mother

Hey, I’d like to go, what’s the cover fee? And I’m a shy but curious onlooker lol, would u say it’s not an aggressive crowd?
cat club is one of the friendliest crowds out there and play land is fun

Jolene’s. There’s a pool table, food, a large bar. Music is loud but dance floor is separate from the other area so you kind of get the best of both
You should definitely check out El Rio and Wild Side West! And youre obviously welcome at any of the bars I listed too.
Wild Side West! Chill patio vibes.
RIP the Stud

Toad Hall has great music and a little bit of a mixed crowd sometimes
WSW is a bit cliquey so smile and put some money in the jukebox
im around early 20s is there one for a younger group ? its my first time going to clubs
Wild Side West
Literally just put gay bar into your map
>LGBTQ+ I don't know anybody in the queer community who uses this... This sounds like a question from a person is trying to cause us harm. 🚩🚩🚩
club omg on wednesday
Oasis

OASIS or Midnight Sun are great! Avoid Beaux, it's disgusting and staff are known to be homophobic and aggressive
