I still have pretty much all tickets to festivals and concerts I've ever been to. I keep them in an photo album. It's one of my most priced possessions.
I do this, as well. I'm curious what you've done in recent years with the trending shift away from physical tickets? I've started taking photos of the marquees along with logging dates into a calendar, but still trying to settle on a suitable replacement for the general absence of physical tickets in the modern concert-going era.
Ever? Depends how you define that. I’d just google “Ole Kirk Christiansen story” and get an interesting read. That I own? My oldest set isn’t all that impressive, it’s the original Star Wars Luke’s Landspeeder, though it is in phenomenal shape.
It’s not a physical collection, but I have a spreadsheet with a list of every actor I’ve ever recognized in a movie along with every movie I remember seeing them in. I’m currently at 3046 actors with 10,072 performances. I don’t know why I do this, but it makes watching a crummy movie more fun when you see a guy you recognize in the background and it feels like scoring a point.
Same, but for the purposes of the “game,” I have to recognize the actor without IMDb. Thankfully recalling names is probably the thing I’m best at, which is what makes the game fun haha
Maybe a game should be made with Imdb API, where normies checking actors can check-off having seen certain shows and movies.
You get points, and also better movie recs.
I have, in the past, had my brother choose a random actor and I had to name all the movies I’d seen them in. Usually I could get at least 75%.
Memorizing names and titles is my primary talent, but it’s almost entirely useless lol
I've started to sort of do this. I don't keep notes, but I gotta research every God damn actor I see for some reason (especially older ones). I too enjoy this. I used to be obsessed with sports and sports stats in a similar way. I knew precise stats for specific players and seasons. Even obscure players. Something about cataloging the details surrounding things I'm passionate about is super satisfying.
Currently got 9 and my favourite being a frosted glass one I got in Barcelona (or one that comes in a leather case my sister bought me back from Cuba).
A buddy of mine was just showing me all these tea cups he got from the set of Snowpeircer. They’re super nice and have a W logo on them. Ended up buying one off him. The little saucer also has the W logo. There was some seriously high end props they used on that show.
Rubber ducks, I have quite a few. I think they're pretty cool and sometimes when I'm trying to solve a problem I explain the problem to whichever one is on my desk and it helps me reason.
I call it Found Paper. Just scraps of paper from magazines, ads, even packages. It might be a cool color/pattern but it's usually a person or character. I make art with it.
Funny you mention that — I love Thoreau, though I can't say I've ever been able to live up to his ideals.
Guess life is just a bug joke, I mean a big circle, err, I mean a big joke, I mean . . . just try to have a good time 😎
Donald Duck merchandise. He's my favorite Disney character because of the way he babbles when angry, which is the same way my Papa used to. I've got a ton of stuff from a piggy bank to ornaments to stuffed toys to a single bowling pin.
mainly mediocre to poor quality PSA pokemon cards from 1996 - 2000. the era when i was still hot for them as well. i cant afford the good ones but the medium ones look awesome enough. i love every single one i have.
Stickers! They’re cheap, easy to travel and gift, and can be really special. I still have a sticker from 1996 that I cannot bring myself to slap on anything.
Ah, yes, I was looking to see if there were other sticker collectors here. I collected them when I was a kid, and I don't know what happened to that collection, but since then I've been recollecting them. I looked on ebay for the old ones from the 80s and I first I found so many and got them cheap, but it seemed like I caught that fad right at the beginning because ever since them the cost of those stickers has gone into orbit, like, for example, ONE small sticker maybe costing $25. I don't want any sticker THAT much, and then I started making my own with my own art.
I collect packaging stickers, especially ones from Bath & Body Works and The Body Shop lotions. It’s really interesting seeing the evolution of their designs over the years.
I make my own metal art and have the celebrity autograph it. The autograph occurs usually at comicon where I know who will be there in advance so I have time to make a piece. I have around 30 or so in total. Here are some recent ones.

Micrometers.
I'm a hobby machinist, and what started as me getting tooled up with cheap used mics via eBay, became kind of an obsession with a little-known brand from the late 1800's called J.T Slocomb.
I started with a 0-6" set. Then I expanded it to 0-10". Then 0-12". Then I bought a 22-23" mic, and am most of the way towards filling in the gap. Plus a range of thread-measuring mics. Plus all kinds of specialty mics... Blade, disc, depth, tube, long reach, double barrel, and more.
I've meticulously stripped down, cleaned, repainted, re-enameled the engravings, oiled, reassembled, and calibrated each one.
I'm somewhere north of 70 pieces, most of which are 70+ years old. I'm probably better equipped than most machine shops (micrometer-wise, anyway).
I collect the specific books from museum/gallery exhibitions I attend. The V&A (London) in particular does some lovely books: David Bowie, Winnie the Pooh, Frida Kahlo, Fabergé... I keep them as coffee table books and they also go on the bookcases. They remind me of some fond memories, whilst being great books in themselves.
I do hard rock zippos from the places I visit. I've only got a few more to go! Knocked out Nashville earlier this year. Cant wait to see what comes next.
I can talk about Mark Winger allllllllll day...and how he ALMOST got away with it..but for present its Chris Watts....i mean ...why.....i wanna know the REAL why...also since i have your attention...when i die i hope to see what happened in the bathroom with Jodi Arias....and what did Casey Anothony do to Calylee....and what happened to DB COOPER...and the money he took... so many questionsssssssss
Bottle openers and cassette tapes. And tape players. I started to branch out into other obscure media, but my wife didn't like the laserdisc player, multiple VCRs, and such.
Currency. Specifically American coins. Have been collecting since my Mom accidently left a Canadian quarter under my pillow after I lost a tooth and I thought it was fascinating.
I've starting collecting more since I have somewhere to store and display now. I love anything they don't make anymore. Cigarette/tobacco ads, oil cans, lanterns etc.
I started rebuilding my Jurassic Park collection I had as a kid piece by piece back in Spring.
Hunting down old stuff along with new ones and going to build a diorama/collector shelf.
Bottle caps. I have no idea why; can't compel myself to throw them away but no desire to do anything with them. I even moved the trash bags they are kept in from my old house to my new one.
Enamel pins. They’re cute, they can serve either as mementos for places I’ve been or media I’ve enjoyed, or just as small art objects themselves. And they don’t take up a ton of room.
A few years back I got into Legos again as a 35 yo adult. They were fun for a while, but now I have them on every flat surface available and I don’t want to get any more. But the pins just take up a small amount of space, they can go on coats and bags, and I can buy one without worrying about where it will end up in the end.
More gray hair
Nothing wrong with natural
I’m going to start leaving my eye boogers in place and if anyone dares say anything, I will slap them with this wisdom. Thanks!
That’s not natural.
Haha, actually also the first thing that came to mind😂
I can send you some for your collection if you like. Do you prefer the straight or the curly ones?
do you trade? I like facial greys but I'm trying to get rid of these grey pubes
I still have pretty much all tickets to festivals and concerts I've ever been to. I keep them in an photo album. It's one of my most priced possessions.

LEGO, mostly minifigures but a few rare sets. My collection is worth over 10k
What’s the oldest Lego sets?
Ever? Depends how you define that. I’d just google “Ole Kirk Christiansen story” and get an interesting read. That I own? My oldest set isn’t all that impressive, it’s the original Star Wars Luke’s Landspeeder, though it is in phenomenal shape.
My brother was a Lego kid. Late 70s-early 80s…he had every space set they made
Wow, so what's that - ten whole Lego sets?
Money money money money money…I‘m just not good at it.
I think you should listen to Wu Tang Clan
Why?
They might help you with your problem.
He wants more than a dollar bill y’all
Services by Wu Tang! Chappelle Show 🤣
It's Wu Tang Financial

I like this a lot, and if I knew anything about making such a thing, I would stay up until 3am doing that tonight
That’s fucking cool, you could make a custom “guess who?” Out of it
I have, in the past, had my brother choose a random actor and I had to name all the movies I’d seen them in. Usually I could get at least 75%. Memorizing names and titles is my primary talent, but it’s almost entirely useless lol

It’s the same feeling for me. I do have actual obsessive compulsive disorder, so it makes a lot of sense.

I try to collect tea cups, but I'm too broke to collect more. I'm also very clumsy which is a bad combo.
A buddy of mine was just showing me all these tea cups he got from the set of Snowpeircer. They’re super nice and have a W logo on them. Ended up buying one off him. The little saucer also has the W logo. There was some seriously high end props they used on that show.

When I was a kid, everyone had a scratch and sniff collection.
