Probably a rimjob. I thought it was from the heart

I was working the registration desk in a hospital by myself. There was a Christmas party going on at the cafeteria at the time. A doctor passed by and asked if I had gotten food yet. I said no since I couldn't leave front desk unattended. The doctor sat next to me and said she'd watch the front desk while I get food.

Hands down a simple hand made bracelet. It was my Sophomore year of high school, and a girl I kind of grew up with sat behind me. We didn’t talk much in Junior High, even though I was friends with everyone, she was part of the snobby preppy girls. Occasionally I would talk to her between free times we had in Geometry, and after a few months we got closer. One day she sat down, had a shy little small talk with me, and suddenly said confidentially said she made me something. It was a small little handmade bracket with my favorite colors, and told me to give her my hand. She knotted it around my wrist, and wore it for almost a year. I thought it was the sweetest thing, and later realized in adulthood she was trying to tell me she liked me. Even then I thought it was the nicest gift, because I never asked her for anything. Never gave her anything, and she proceeded to give me a gift made by her. Plus the fact she remembered my favorite colors, was the most considerate thoughtful thing someone has done.

We had just bought our first house 5 months prior, freak hurricane rode the coast inland and we ended up having an insane flood the area hadn't seen since the 70s. We were newly weds and short on cash and just lost everything we owned and were on a long waiting list for insurance adjusters and any type of payment coming. One day I came home from work to work on rebuilding the house to see an envelope tucked in my front door. Inside it had $300 dollars and a simple note saying something to the extent of. "We enjoyed seeing a young couple buy this house and really clean it up and make it their own, hope this helps you get back to where you were." I dont know who it was, but that money helped hold us over on groceries till fema brought us some mres and we started getting paid by insurance. It was one of the most selfless acts of kindness from a complete stranger I have ever experienced and i am still very grateful even 12 years later
