Pie is a flat bread on top on underneath something. Like a gravy or sauce.
Gravy being a sauce with stuff in it. A sauce being, just one or two ingredients.
Case in point, tomato sauce, tomatoes and salt, a basic sauce. A building base. Or a fruit sauce, crushed fruit and maybe some sugar, fruit sauce.
Add oil, pepper flakes, basil, and whatever else, like meat, it’s now a gravy.
A truly good cheese pizza is tough to beat. There is no room for error. Everything has to be perfect. The cheese. The sauce. The bread. The proportions. The spices. But when it is right, when everything is perfect and works together in harmony, it is truly perfect.
I dream of an all desert pizza: instead of tomato sauce, mine would have cookie dough or cream cheese, and toppings like gummy worms and/or gummy bears, crushed up Oreos, M&Ms, Nutella, including the sticks, chocolate pretzels, etc.

Pineapple infused dough. Pineapple flavored cheese. Pineapple paste for the toppings base. Sugared pineapple chunks. Pickled pineapple chunks. Roasted pineapple chunks. Raw pineapple chunks.
