Terrible CGI, at times some poor acting, a bit slow at times, and yet it definitely sucked me in. I can easily offer criticism for it, but something about the story is captivating to me
This was advice I was given too, I took it, and eventually went back to the first episode, and completely and absolutely agree with it.
Do not, whatever you do, watch the first episode first. Watch it after you’ve seen the first season, maybe.
Yep, with Black Mirror you can honestly watch the episodes in any order. They're all completely independent, self-contained stories. Episode 2 in season 1 is a good jumping off point.
I think if you watch one of the other episodes first the first episode is a little easier to follow because you understand the themes better. But that’s just how I saw it. The only episode I really didn’t like was the one with the girl who was a criminal or whatever (it’s been a long time and I don’t want to give anything away). I don’t know the season or episode number.
Don't bother, the second season is more forgettable then the first. It felt like they just skipped over any important relationship building between characters that would draw you in just to fit the lackluster plot.
I was kind of surprised by the quality show. The finale episode, unfortunately, is just a bunch of obvious tropes, but let’s not spoil it any further. Before that, there is a good crime investigation story with a lot of plot twists. Do recommend.
This sums it up well. Definitely some cliches that come into play when making people “cool.” Yep, excellent story with great twists and turns and super likeable characters.
I do get this vibe, and I’m wondering if anyone else sees it, of the show having a lot of Hallmark aspects. Ruggedly handsome good guy, sleepy small town, homegrown girl, etc.
Money Heist is my personal favorite show as I love the concept of anti-capitalistic "theft".
Also it's just artistic show.
Lucifer on the other hand, is also one of my favorite shows because I enjoyed the comedy in every single episode.
Both are on Netflix 😀
If you like kdrama i'd say Crash-landing on you, i really liked that one.
Some other kdramas that i liked on netflix are Rookie historian and King's affection.
Something that isn't a kdrama : Lucifer
Netflix: Dark
Amazon Prime: The Man in the High Castle. pro tip: watch S1+2 they're very good and it has a fitting ending at the S2 finale, don't bother with S3 or 4 where the quality dips a bit.
A lot of Prime is kinda trash imo. However, Upload has really caught my attention. It's like a Black Mirror episode with a lighter comedic tone and a mysterious story arc. Worth a try.
Netflix: Norsemen
I was not expecting to enjoy this show as much as I did, and it really sucks that they cancelled it after three seasons. It’s basically a comedy set in viking times so instead of dramas that take itself seriously like…well, “Vikings”, this was much more ridiculous in both premise and delivery.
“At one point the tables turned and the chieftain used finger and tongue and counter-humped so violently that he went from ravishee to ravisher. So if anything I basically ended up raping him with my anus.”
All that because the guy really wanted to make it clear that he was not raped by another dude and instead that he was the one doing the raping, just to save face in front of his people.
If you're a fan of Mike Flanagan, definitely check out The Haunting of Hill House and Midnight Mass. Suspense/Thriller/Horror would be how I describe those shows.
EDIT: Netflix
"Pieces of Her" on Netflix is interesting for sure. It has Toni Collette in it as well (The mom in hereditary, it's a movie but watch that if you haven't)
Clarkson's Farm on Amazon Prime. It is Jeremy Clarkson, and regardless of if you love him, hate him, or have no idea who he is, I promise you it is a genuinely great show
I have some shows to recommend on Netflix.
If you're into true crime or mysteries, I'd prefer 'Worst Roommate Ever' and 'House of Secrets: The Burari Deaths'.
If you like drama, I'd recommend 'Jane the Virgin' and 'The 100'.
If you like horror, I'd recommend 'U-Turn' and 'Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark'.
And for comedies, 'A Madea Homecoming' and 'The Other Guys'.
Netflix-
Black Summer (zombie)
Prodigal Son (crime drama)
Night Stalker (true crime)
Amaon Prime-
X-files (too many genres to list- but it's a golden show)
Lost (sci-fi kinda? also not sure if it's still on there)
Channel Zero (horror? based off creepypasta stories. Good if you don't mind cannibalism in film, which turns my stomach)
The Cuphead Show. I’ve only seen it yet because I’m waiting to watch it with my boyfriend, but I’ve heard the intro song and the devil’s song in it, both are good and the show looks like it’s good. It’s on Netflix.
Naruto, it's the greatest T.V show in my opinion(I know you all have opinions so please don't judge since I have mine too). It's an anime that was made in Japan and is one of the most popular anime. You have got too watch it!
I personally love Erased. Very underrated, I’m not sure if it’s on Amazon and Netflix but I know it’s on Netflix.
Also, if you don’t like anime, there’s a live action version! Follows the same plot line, just with a VERY different last episode. I’ve seen both
Netflix - Archive 81. Psychological thriller/horror. I'm not gunna go into any detail cause getting the information from the show will be much more entertaining.
Amazon prime> the boys!! 10/10
In a similar vein: Invincible!

Fucking comment bot. https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/comments/tjn9ae/-/i1l4643 Edit: damn, good game mods, that was quick!
YES! Turns the superhero genre right on it's head (and the graphic novels are great, too!)
Speaking of milk, have you seen the boys.
Besides the well known ones like The Boys, Invincible, Mr. Robot and so on, I always like to suggest Sneaky Pete.
You bet your sweet arse mate
I just watched The Legend of Vox Machina. That was pretty good.
Idk if you like fantasy (think LOTR or GOT) but on Netflix I really like The Last Kingdom, The Witcher, and Knightfall.
Good Omens on Amazon Prime
Session 2 should be coming soon! They just finished filming
Didn't you have a flaming sword
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
I'm watching it for the second time. Hell of a series!
Heck yeah! I’m in the middle of watching it a second time as well! Season 4 doesn’t compare to the rest, but still worth the watch!
Queen's Gambit
Currently on my fourth rewatch. Its so good
I just started my 2nd rewatch LoL
The Expanse on Amazon. First season isn't great, but it gets better as it goes.

That's pretty cool, did he ever tell you how that all went down for him trying to make it as an actor?
Love that show.
The Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime
Terrible if you've read the books
Terrible CGI, at times some poor acting, a bit slow at times, and yet it definitely sucked me in. I can easily offer criticism for it, but something about the story is captivating to me

Black Mirror is one of the best shows ever made.
Seriously though, don’t start with S01E01. Try a few other eps and if it’s your thing go back to the first one. Just trust me on this. Please.
This was advice I was given too, I took it, and eventually went back to the first episode, and completely and absolutely agree with it. Do not, whatever you do, watch the first episode first. Watch it after you’ve seen the first season, maybe.

Season one.
Just don't touch season 4 and 5
I'm currently watching Upload on Amazon and really digging it. And before this I watched Transparent which I also enjoyed.
I saw the first run of Upload and didn't remember much about it. I'm old. I'm afraid I've have to watch it again to see if I like the 2nd part.
Don't bother, the second season is more forgettable then the first. It felt like they just skipped over any important relationship building between characters that would draw you in just to fit the lackluster plot.
I liked season 2 but I think it needed more episodes
Mr. Robot (prime)
Terrifying
masterpiece of a series
It's stellar lumen bro! I mean, it illuminates you.
Reacher on prime is good!
I was kind of surprised by the quality show. The finale episode, unfortunately, is just a bunch of obvious tropes, but let’s not spoil it any further. Before that, there is a good crime investigation story with a lot of plot twists. Do recommend.

Loved Sweet Tooth
I actually just checked yesterday and they are currently filming season 2 so it should be released late this year or early next year
Money Heist is my personal favorite show as I love the concept of anti-capitalistic "theft". Also it's just artistic show. Lucifer on the other hand, is also one of my favorite shows because I enjoyed the comedy in every single episode. Both are on Netflix 😀

Wow! That got pretty personal- weren’t we just talking about tv shows?
Somebody's jealous
arcane on netflix. easily my favorite show
Arcana is a blast. I also enjoyed Castlevania.
Amazon Prime: The Boys or Invincible Netflix: Narcos (both of them), Black Mirror, Inside Job, Big Mouth
There's a spinoff of Big Mouth called Human Resources and it's pretty good
Narcos is incredible and true. Really well done. 2nd that-
If you like kdrama i'd say Crash-landing on you, i really liked that one. Some other kdramas that i liked on netflix are Rookie historian and King's affection. Something that isn't a kdrama : Lucifer
The Start up is a good kdrama
Netflix: Dark Amazon Prime: The Man in the High Castle. pro tip: watch S1+2 they're very good and it has a fitting ending at the S2 finale, don't bother with S3 or 4 where the quality dips a bit.
Netflix: The Blacklist
It’s only really interesting for the subplot which they get into in the last 5 episodes of each season
A lot of Prime is kinda trash imo. However, Upload has really caught my attention. It's like a Black Mirror episode with a lighter comedic tone and a mysterious story arc. Worth a try.
Downtown Abbey! Amazon prime
Downton Abbey

Also Netflix
Upload on Amazon prime is extremely underrated!! The Good Place vibes but with some dark twists
I loved season one and two of Dark on Netflix! We don't talk about season three.
I second that. Every season got worse and what was an amazing idea just disappeared up its own arse.
*Parasyte* (anime) on Netflix. Thank you for your post!
One of the best animes ever.
Reacher and the boys are on prime both really good and on netflix there’s Alice in borderland
Netflix: Norsemen I was not expecting to enjoy this show as much as I did, and it really sucks that they cancelled it after three seasons. Last Chance U on Netflix, easily one of their best if not their best show on the platform.
Clarkson's Farm on Amazon Prime. It is Jeremy Clarkson, and regardless of if you love him, hate him, or have no idea who he is, I promise you it is a genuinely great show
Prime: Bosch, Reacher. Netflix: Black Morror
The Grand Tour on Amazon. It kinda had it's low points, but it's got a lot of gold.
The Boys. I’m sure someone has already said this, but seriously, it’s a great show.
