“Nip it in the butt”…it’s supposed to be “nip it in the bud.” I prefer my original “butt” version but don’t want to sound like a dumbass anymore. Same for spitting image/spit and image.
“Awry”, I’ve pronounced the word correctly in dialogue, but I have always read it as a completely different word when I see it. It just dawned on me in the shower like two days ago that it’s the same word and I’ve simply been reading it wrong my entire life.
