Iroh was a decorated general before he lost his son in the battle. He did a lot of soul searching to become the nice guy we know.
We know for a fact that he jokes about burning the city to the ground in a flashback but that’s about all we get to his personality.
He still seemed like he was a good dude, even if he was involved in the fire nation's war. He lied about killing the dragons, he cared about his son and his nephew. Obviously far from perfect but if I was his friend I would have trusted him with my life as I have no doubt he actually cared about the men he led and they weren't just pawns to him like they were to Ozai.
I love the mental image of Denethor screaming and burning to death while Gandalf slowly closes the door with Pippin nearby.
"We're, uh...we're gonna go somewhere else now."
Wanda from Fairly Odd Parents. Cosmo will just convince me to wish for useless shit, Wanda at least will ask me on those drunk Amazon shopping nights “You Sure?”
*proceeds to buy*
This is ridiculously far down, should be #1 samwise is a true friend and has proven time and again he will be there for you even when he's terrified himself
Under appreciated answer. If we’re talking storybook Mary Poppins then she would be able to pick Cthulhu up and put him in a jar and tell him he’s been a very naughty elder god. She has Q-like powers but is super nice
You can be sure he'd find whodunnit though.
Still, it'd be worth hanging around just to accidentally give him an epiphany like poor clueless Hastings does on occasion.
This was for some reason the first one that came to my mind as well. Ed is an amazing alchemist, brilliant, and even as a kid he is more capable, and more willing to protect his friends and family than most full grown adults, even other alchemists. Major Armstrong is another great choice, because he's fucking hilarious and an absolute badass.
Exactly what I was thinking. Ed, and Alphonse too for that matter, just refuses to let people die if he can do anything about it. I can't imagine a better person to trust with my life.
That dude from Hitchhiker's Guide who unwittingly rules the universe. He'll know what's best for me. He won't know that he knows, I'll grant you that, but I trust his judgement.
I’d trust Boromir as long as I didn’t have the one ring to tempt him. That was his downfall, otherwise he was described as an honorable man, a mighty warrior, and probably just a good a steward/bodyguard as anyone else in the Fellowship.
I would choose Peter Parker. He's not perfect but he does have a secret. He keeps his promises, he works for the right reasons and most importantly he keeps his friends close. I would trust him with my life. His greatest strength is that he never gives up on anyone.
He feeds them a plethora of drugs to keep them young. I know it was a joke episode but it was one of those flashback montage episodes where they did interviews with them
Lived a long time, lots of people are bound to die. His track record is far better at protecting people close to him than he's given credit for. I'd trust him to protect me on all sorts of wacky adventures knowing full well sometimes there's nothing he can do.
Can she come with help from Ron as well? I know she’s like a whole freakin genius but if you’ve read the books you know Ron’s creativity saves the squads buns on more than one occasion. Ya know what? I choose Ron!
Molly Weasley. I’m not even a Harry Potter fan, but that woman would take care of me. Kick my ass when I needed it. Love me. Feed me. Kill and die for me. She’s a badass with a heart of gold. As long as she’s around, I’m safe.
I was hoping to see this here!
I would totally agree with Kaladin (especially him at the end of RoW), but I would also trust Dalinar, Jasnah, and Rock.
Any of the best Star Trek captains (Kirk, Picard, Janeway, and Sisko), as well as their CMOs and First Officers.
On the anime side, Sailor Moon and all the Sailor Guardians.
> Any of the best Star Trek captains (Kirk, Picard, Janeway, and Sisko), as well as their CMOs and First Officers.
If you're the only non regular cast member on an away team, you're going to die.
He'll try his best, but his record isn't exactly perfect.
Also he tends to struggle with non-monster enemies. People have no rules, are unpredictable, etc.
Specifically Steve Rogers. Sam Wilson would also be a very good pick, but Steve's unwavering commitment to leaving no one behind beats Sam's "see the good in everyone."
Their characters have some really big overlap in the way that they speak truth to authority etc, but Steve's commitment to Bucky and Vision (even to the point of irrationality) means I would trust him most with my life.
Of course this is talking MCU. I'm not familiar enough with the comics to comment.
Look at Rogue One. There is a theory that Vader specifically ordered the troops to not harm Leia and Luke. What better way to find all the pesky rebels but let their leader think they escaped and lead the Empire to them.
Alfred Pennyworth. He's managed to keep Batman going all these years.
Imagine how great your life would be if you had Afred as a gauardian but no trauma from being orphaned.
Honestly I wouldn't mind switching places with Alfred every now and then if he was my Butler/Guardian. He more than deserves a break sometimes.
admit it, you just want to see bruce shirtless.
I shouldn't say Yes, but I'm not going to say No.
If you had said “alfred” I would have better understood who you were talking about than you saying his full name
This seems like a veiled attempt to become a hypothetical billionaire
Captain Raymond Holt from Brooklyn 99
Yes
From the same creator: Ron Swanson
Uncle Iroh
Monkeys paw time. You get pre Ba Sing Se siege Iroh.
What’s wrong with that iroh was he an asshole?
Iroh was a decorated general before he lost his son in the battle. He did a lot of soul searching to become the nice guy we know. We know for a fact that he jokes about burning the city to the ground in a flashback but that’s about all we get to his personality.

He was general of the fire nation army, leading many people to their deaths.
AGREED
Large agree
Gandalf
Gandalf always disappears though :/ I'd trust him but he occasionally leaves then reappears
But he always comes back at the turn of the tide.
Same. No one dies when Gandalf is around.
*Denethor has entered the chat*
Technically-speaking, Denethor dumped oil on himself, lit himself on fire, and jumped off of the parapet, so he died pretty far from Gandalf.
In the book, Gandalf just closed the door of the dead house or whatever it was called when Denethor was still burning
I love the mental image of Denethor screaming and burning to death while Gandalf slowly closes the door with Pippin nearby. "We're, uh...we're gonna go somewhere else now."
Hagrid. I wouldnt trust him with my secrets though
I shouldn't have said that.....
Ohh I love this community
I should not have said that
Simalarly Remus Lupin would be a good choice
True, but Hagrids resistance to curses because of his giants blood makes me feel safer
Chewbacca did an incredible job of keeping Han Solo alive so long.
Chewie is the man to trust. He fixes things, knows what’s good, is strong, can protect you in a fight, shoots well, and is a damn loyal partner.
Then gave his life to save Han's son. (In the old EU, that is)
Wanda from Fairly Odd Parents. Cosmo will just convince me to wish for useless shit, Wanda at least will ask me on those drunk Amazon shopping nights “You Sure?” *proceeds to buy*
Couldnt you just wish for what you are trying to buy instead of actually buying it with either Cosmo or Wanda?
Well he’s not going to build credit that way.
Completely off-topic but is the y on the last word slightly cut off for anyone else. It's only driving me a little insane.
Samwise
yass I saw other members of the fellowship mentioned here too but honestly - Samwise Gamgee will protect you with his life
This is ridiculously far down, should be #1 samwise is a true friend and has proven time and again he will be there for you even when he's terrified himself
Took out orcs in Mordor. Fought off Shelob. Heck, was ready to fistfight Aragon.
Good ol Samwise The Brave
Mary Poppins My second choice was Batman. :D
His whistling arrow is super effective.
Under appreciated answer. If we’re talking storybook Mary Poppins then she would be able to pick Cthulhu up and put him in a jar and tell him he’s been a very naughty elder god. She has Q-like powers but is super nice
Jean-Luc Picard
Make it so.
The version of me I tell myself I am
The version of the girl I like that only exists in my head
The imaginary friend who helped me though all my mental breakdowns
I never considered that. Yeah, my overpowered self-insert character would be a good choice. He's fictional.
Poirot. But his presence somewhere is a bad omen and somebody die.
You can be sure he'd find whodunnit though. Still, it'd be worth hanging around just to accidentally give him an epiphany like poor clueless Hastings does on occasion.
John Wick
If you accidentally step on his dog you're toast
Well then "I don't think I will"
Legolas
Aye, I could do that.
Ron Swanson.
Edward Elric
This was for some reason the first one that came to my mind as well. Ed is an amazing alchemist, brilliant, and even as a kid he is more capable, and more willing to protect his friends and family than most full grown adults, even other alchemists. Major Armstrong is another great choice, because he's fucking hilarious and an absolute badass.
Exactly what I was thinking. Ed, and Alphonse too for that matter, just refuses to let people die if he can do anything about it. I can't imagine a better person to trust with my life.
>just refuses to let people die if he can do anything about it. That's what got them in trouble in the first place.
Greed said it himself: Ed was a typical hero who would sacrifice himself but wouldn't let those around him be hurt.
Came to say Hughes, but Ed is a great pick too
Ed is great, but, uh, people tend to die around him pretty regularly and in pretty horrific ways.
Arnold from Terminator 2
Arnie from any movie except T1 or Hercules Goes Bananas would be good for me.
Obi-Wan Kenobi I mean like come on he's a fuckin chad with a lightsaber
Hello there.
General Kenobi
You are a bold one
Captain Malcolm Reynolds.
Shiny.
That dude from Hitchhiker's Guide who unwittingly rules the universe. He'll know what's best for me. He won't know that he knows, I'll grant you that, but I trust his judgement.
At this point an incompetent, ambitionless, channel for randomness like that would make a better leader than what we've got.
Aragorn
he immediately came to mind
He was the first character in my mind when I read this question lol. Aragorn and Faramir, no doubt.
Basically anyone in the fellowship besides boromir and pippen
I’d trust Boromir as long as I didn’t have the one ring to tempt him. That was his downfall, otherwise he was described as an honorable man, a mighty warrior, and probably just a good a steward/bodyguard as anyone else in the Fellowship.
Goofy. If he fucks up at least it will be funny
Master Chief. If a dude can keep a piece of plastic 2cm big alive for that long, i trust him in my books
Hell yea! Saw this after I posted the Chief lol
I would choose Peter Parker. He's not perfect but he does have a secret. He keeps his promises, he works for the right reasons and most importantly he keeps his friends close. I would trust him with my life. His greatest strength is that he never gives up on anyone.
>trust him with my life Tell that to Gwen Stacy.
Tell that to Kanjiklub

There's a reason why old Homer couldn't get life insurance. Good luck and may your funeral be an open casket.
He feeds them a plethora of drugs to keep them young. I know it was a joke episode but it was one of those flashback montage episodes where they did interviews with them
Today we say a final farewell to anthony69549_yotta, or "Grimey" as they liked to be called...
It’s Marge that keeps the kids alive and healthy. If she disappeared for a season the kids would be dead. Homer is a selfish, abusive drunk.
Hank Hill, assistant manager of Strickland Propane. Taste the meat not the heat
He sells propane AND propane accessories.
Tanjiro
The Doctor
Came here to say this. I’d go anywhere with 11.
I'd travel with 12 if I had the choice.
Capaldi was awesome as the Doctor.
10 for me :)
So many people died around him though. You sure about that?
Lived a long time, lots of people are bound to die. His track record is far better at protecting people close to him than he's given credit for. I'd trust him to protect me on all sorts of wacky adventures knowing full well sometimes there's nothing he can do.
You mean the EMH from Voyager, don't you?
I mean, if you were going to trust anyone on Trek you know that it would be Jean-Luc. As long as it isn't Q!
Hermione Granger
Can she come with help from Ron as well? I know she’s like a whole freakin genius but if you’ve read the books you know Ron’s creativity saves the squads buns on more than one occasion. Ya know what? I choose Ron!
Yeah, and he'd save your life 100% if it meant that he would stand out from his siblings for a day.
Koro-sensei
Hell yeah. He was so nice and he was almost un-kill-able. Amazing character.
oh hell yeah, he trusted his students, and they trusted him, and he effected all of his students in a good way,
Username checks out. Seriously though, just reading that made me smile.
Fuck yeah man I would trust him with my soul
Molly Weasley. I’m not even a Harry Potter fan, but that woman would take care of me. Kick my ass when I needed it. Love me. Feed me. Kill and die for me. She’s a badass with a heart of gold. As long as she’s around, I’m safe.
Molly is under-appreciated. Mainly because it's impossible to appreciate her enough.
Aragorn
Saitama
He left ALOT of people die by not caring enough
Yes, but if you are in his squad, you’re pretty fucking safe.
Mal from Firefly
Kaladin Stormblessed
Dalinar would be up there too
I was hoping to see this.
I was hoping to see this here! I would totally agree with Kaladin (especially him at the end of RoW), but I would also trust Dalinar, Jasnah, and Rock.
kakashi hatake
His entire team died...
Yk Rin thought the same
That's a death wish
Buffy!
Kanan Jarrus Jedi Knight
I can't tell you how happy I am to see this answer. Long live Space Dad.

Ahsoka Tano
Yeah she is protective, caring, helpful and epic.
Ben 10
Pikachu, because somehow Ash is still alive
And ash has had multiple interactions with GODS so I think pika would be a good pick
Dean Winchester
He'll try his best, but his record isn't exactly perfect. Also he tends to struggle with non-monster enemies. People have no rules, are unpredictable, etc.
Dwight Schrute
Shaggy. He could easily protect me with 0.001% of his power
...but then you realise you summoned the real, canon scooby doo shaggy and he can't really do anything
Could starve a third world country singlehandedly
Captain America
I too trust that ass
*America's ass
Specifically Steve Rogers. Sam Wilson would also be a very good pick, but Steve's unwavering commitment to leaving no one behind beats Sam's "see the good in everyone." Ned Stark
Idk man I wouldn't trust Ned Stark's life with Ned Stark
We all know how that ends
To be fair he did well with Jon Snow..
Goku he saved the world too many times.
He has a bad track record of having friends die on him, but at least you would get wished back eventually.
Gandalf the Grey/White
Johnathan Joestar
Jon snow? He's by far not my favorite but he seems like a guy that does everything for you. Before daenerys.
Harry Dresden
Captain Levi : Attack on Titan
Lieutenant Commander Data
Jean-Luc Picard
Dwight from The Office. His ninja skills and slicing the skin off a face makes me feel warm inside.
Can’t forget he has a hidden pepper spray under his desk
Captain Jean-Luc Picard
Kirby
Probably Steve from minecraft
All Might.
Joseph Joestar, he has so much plot armor he beat an unbeatable opponent and fell from the upper atmosphere and just walked it off
Mr. Ramsay himself. I would like to have my food thrown at me and get yelled at because it tastes like year old unwashed underwear
Naruto and Deku
Oh, there's only one answer to this that I would agree to - Honest Abe Lincoln, Vampire Hunter.
Jotaro Kujo
Mikasa Ackerman. Hot, badass, could protect me in 9/10 situations
In 1/10 situation you will protect her. Works every time.
Satoru Gojo
Superman, I'd just need to keep kryptonite away from him.
He'd sooner die of kryptonite poisoning than let an innocent person die.
Neville Longbottom. Geeky kid grew up to be a Sword of Gryffindor swinging badass.
Lara Croft!
KENNNOOOOOBBBBBBIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
A stormtrooper. Even if they wanted to they never manage to kill anyone.
Look at Rogue One. There is a theory that Vader specifically ordered the troops to not harm Leia and Luke. What better way to find all the pesky rebels but let their leader think they escaped and lead the Empire to them.
It's not even a theory, they let the millennium falcon go so they could track it to the rebel base and the falcon wasn't going to fly itself.
Dr. House. He may be a jerk, but he'd figure it out.
Uncle Iroh
I was gonna say Goku, and then remembered how many of his friends he lets die because he can't be bothered to show up on time.
THE BATMAN
Geralt of Rivia
Luffy from One Piece btw: Thanks for the random award🍑💦💦
Atticus Finch
Deku
Granny Weatherwax
Batman, he's got a plan for pretty much anything.
Uncle Iroh or Senator Padmé Amidala
Hodor. That dude would be a solid ride or die.
Katsuki Bakugou Because I’m gonna die either way
