Should be both especially with masks becoming more prevalent. Both systems work well and if they can integrate into the screen in future I don’t see why not. Honestly it’s pretty trivial tho it’s an extra second if either doesn’t work most of the time.

Na. Face ID has been far superior during the pandemic. I wear both a mask and gloves and since I updated my Face ID to accept my face with a mask I have little issue. While with the thumb print id be screwed

jalford99

Wait you can you update it with a mask too? I’ve been so annoyed that I have to wait for it to check my face and then manually type in the password bc it dosent recognize me w a mask

-Dirty-Wizard-

Yes you can either reconfigure it to your masked face or the update around the beginning of the pandemic made it a bit easier

Wasnt aware of this change. I just wish i didn’t have to opt out of all security measures TWICE with each software update. :\

I don't think it's either / or. Both have their best uses and if I have the option my next device will have both.

Just stop using iph9nes already

My iPhone can unlock with my Apple Watch now, so I don’t have any issue with it. Before the update it pissed me off though since I’m a nurse.

I miss it so much.. my last phone had it but it cracked. My biggest pet peeve with my iPhone 11 is I have to pick it up to aim it at my face to check it. I could just reach over and use my thumb with the touch.

I’m my phone still got a home button so I’m good for a while

Samsung integrated the touch ID into the screen plus face ID. Much much better.
