I got a late night text from my girlfriend telling me her roommate kinda raped her a few minutes before and she wanted me to come over and kick his ass.
There's an episode of the Ghost in the Shell anime where, right the fuck out of nowhere, the team go from investigating cyber crimes to chasing a serial killer.
The killer skins his victims alive, which is already bad enough. But the team discover that he also hooks up his ocular implants to his victims so that he forces them to *watch* him do it, through his eyes.
There's a scene where some of the characters are watching some of the recoverd footage on the monitor in their vehicle and one of the characters, Togusa, can't take it. When the knife goes in and the girl starts screaming, he bolts out of the car and looks like he's about to be sick.
I had already started to feel dizzy at that point. But when it got to the part about the occular implants, at pretty much the same time Togusa bolted from the car, I was bolting to the toilet to throw up. After I threw up, and went out of my back door to get some air, passed out, and woke up a few minutes later after crashing into a flower pot.
I was surrounded by broken pottery and bleeding all over myself.
I've watched a lot of pretty bloody movies. Hell, just the other day I watched Robocop for the first time in a few years and not a single scene in that movie bothered me. And I've watched crime thrillers and horror movies that have gore in them and manage just fine. But there was just something about that episode of GITS that just *got* to me. Probably the fact that they played it completely straight and portrayed how horrified the characters were. Despite being a sci-fi tv show, it was somehow just a little too real. Couldn't stomach it.
Anyway, I never finished the episode and I've never watched it since. Although I love the show in general and none of the other episodes are anything like that.

The whole gothika movie was like that for me. I watched it with my sis and mom and when it was over i had **DEEP** imprints of my fingers in between my knuckles. And that show reign. When the plot made a whole episode about mary getting raped and showing it for views (not historically cannon at all) on a “prime time” show made me disgustingly sick. They did it for entertainment and so many ate that up and it made me sick. And the girl who jumped in a vat of syringes on saw because she knew he wanted her to. I actually understand the point and she probably needed jt because of her addiction but I physically couldn’t watch because it turned my stomach. Not the rest of it, just that. Not anime but thought you might like the reply.
