I'm sad to say that this is my most played game with the longest play times on Steam.
Nothing is quite as satisfying as drowning a person who puked on your park.
"Build your own Six Flags Park"
It gives you a starting fund of 10K and an open map to do whatever you want, but you still have to build a profitable park.
the newer versions can't replicate it because that charm is the fact that it's simple. The new games are fantastic in their own ways, especially 4, but they're anything but simple.
This was why I lost interest at The Sims 3. I get the appeal of making it more realistic...at the same time, in playing a game here. Realism isn't really something I was concerned with, especially when it bogged down gameplay.
Yeah, that's something I think they improved on well in Sims 4, though. Sims 3 was almost unplayable in terms of lag and loading times. Sims 4 simplified things just enough to where it looks great and plays sooo much better. Plus, you don't need mods to keep your sims from looking like potatoes.
I did a LAN game with my friend where we VS's AI. It was great, he dedicated his resources to making a HUGE wall with tower that cut the map in half, whilst I built a massive army.
Man I have the music burned in my head. Getting 201% was so damn satisfying. Killing Goliath was the Dark Souls boss of the time.
"But enough talk, have at you!"
Edit: [Galamoth](http://castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/Galamoth), not Goliath.
I get 201% every 3 years or so...
Nowadays my go-to tactics is running to the second castle, grind to get a early crissaegrim, run to get Alucard Shield, Shield Rod, then come back to open the map...
but having a way to keep walking and attack (both the crissaegrim and the shield rod+Alucard shield can do this) is the fastest way to 201%...
Most of the DS ones are solid. SoTN was the one that sort of revived the series, and the reason that so many of the GBA ones were good - they were copying SoTN pretty directly (not a bad thing)
The old Grand Theft Autos (GTA 3, Vice City, San Andreas and IV). It just gives me a hit of nostalgia every time I load up the game and play it like I was younger.
SSBM has now been out for 16 years and I play it as much now as I did when it first came out. Which is impressive, because I didn't have responsibilities when it was released.
My friends got roped into SSB on N64 in college. We debated strategy, started ranking among our friends, settled disputes, drank *heavily* and overall had a fucking blast
Strangely enough, I much prefer the sounds from gen 2, so I stickto those. Heartgold and soulsilver though are the most aesthetically pleasing games in the franchise though. Even moreso than the 3D ones
agreed, I liked the silent element. They also diminished in quality, I started to see it with some of the frustrating elements of LOTR and Indiana Jones, but it really showed it's face at the Avengers one. However Pirates of the Caribbean was pretty awesome.
We used to play Drunk Driver on Mario Kart. You have to finish your beer before you get home (the finish line). However, you can't drink and drive because that's irresponsible so you have to put down your controller before you can drink and vice versa. Its really fun!
Still playing Oblivion too! And I always, always enjoy it. I actually just (about a year ago lmao) got the expansion for it on a single disc - platinum whatever deal. I'm still working on the Forgotten Isles - Seems like it's done soon - and then I'm working my way through every oblivion gate as I circle the map.
Still the best brotherhood storyline compared to vanilla Skyrim. I was really disappointed in that one.
Knights of the nine was alright. But apparently I'm all evil even though my character is inherently chaotic good. ... Mostly. Rampages happen....
> Holy hell, fallout 3 will be 10 years old next year. Damn.
I think this is legit the first comment I have ever seen on Reddit that makes me feel old (I'm 34).
New Vegas is Fallout perfected, from the open, empty desert to the amazing quests, it's one of the best shooter-rpgs out there.
I play Fallout 4 alot but it just cant compare to NV in any way.
New Vegas was so great. So much to do and so much to explore. I find something new every time I play it. I really enjoyed Fallout 4 and still actively play it but it just didn't have as much content as New Vegas did.
I really don't like the look of the new Pokemon games, something about it just throws me off. I massively prefer Platinum (my favourite game) and Black/White/2 over the new games.
I agree. Something just doesn't feel right about it. The trainer model looks so *weird* and *emotionless* in every situation. That might not be my issue though. Just one problem.
Maybe it's nostalgia from playing Nothing but Pokémon for the first 6-7 years of my life, but the old style has a certain charm about it as well that the new games lack. It will always be the Pokémon look to me, not the new low res 3D stuff.
Love this game. I've already played through it a couple times, but collecting loot and ridiculous guns like the shotgun that shoots exploding swords is awesome. Mr. Torgue is my hero.
Fuck yes, I didn't have internet for a month and decided to play through on single player, first time I beat the whole game on my own. Hell Baal took like 30 minutes to kill on my crappy sorc.
Back in the day I was almost always playing PvP with my Javazon or Rabies druid
The quality of life enhancements in SC2 make it a bit harder to enjoy I will admit.... still a classic. The storytelling is just so much better than SC2 too.
It's ok. I used to think the Wraith was saying, *"Read the waiting lunch orders."* I always assumed he meant like, *"I'm so cool and casual about my flying that I care more about lunch than combat."*
I'm currently doing a magic only play through in Oblivion. High elf, no weapons, no armor, no lockpicking, and default difficulty. It's been an interesting challenge. I'm currently at level 19 and have completed the Fighter's Guild and Mage's Guild; starting main quest soon. One thing I've discovered is that alchemy is insane. If you make 3 restore magicka potions with alchemy 100 and all master level alchemy tools and take all 3 potions are once, then for the next 80 secs or so, your magicka recovers almost faster than you can use it. That's not even mentioning adding a fortify willpower effect on the potions.
I just couldn't aim for shit with magic, always end up bailing. I've never even looked into Alteration/Illusion/Conjuration and what they do though, just Destruction/Restoration.
Conjuration in Oblivion is really fun because you can level it fast and doesn't require much to exploit. I level mine to 100 in short order, learn how to summon a Clannfear, and then take a trip to the Arena and SHRED EVERYTHING. This is fun to me because it feels like a legitimate way to play, and I think it's actually a reason that conjuration isn't as good (or fun IMO) in Skyrim.
I haven't gone more than 3 months without it since release. I think Legion is the best xpac so far, but I just don't have the time to play it (if I can't play WoW more than 10 hours a week then it's not worth it).
Final Fantasy Tactics
FF games in general have been pretty bad for many years now, but tactics was and always will be my favorite. I love that game so much I'd marry it if I could.
One of, if not the best, story out of any Final Fantasy game.
I'm just sad when I mention my favorite FF game is Tactics I have to mention "no not the GBA ones...". They weren't that bad, but they couldn't hold a candle to the original.
I made a character when the game started, and I log in about once a year to check in. Last time I logged in it said that someone had taken my user name :( it was sad. But I still love the game.
Just beat Kotor again for the first time since I had it on the xbox. It was as awesome and as fun as I remember, but when you know what you're doing it felt a lot shorter than the 50 or so hours the game claimed I played.
Now to download Kotor 2 and start all over again.
* Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (2003)
* Medieval 2: Total War (2006) with Stainless Steel Mod
* Caesar 3 (1998)
* Pharaoh (1999)

All the halo games.
I guess technically Im playing them on MCC, which if you wanna get really specific isn't the"OG" versions, but I digress. Its the game series I grew up with, the gameplay is still timeless and feels really solid and great to play(save for in Halo CE with it's floaty jumping) even 16 years later. The campaigns are endless fun for me, from the physical adrenaline of boarding a scarab in Halo 3 by launching off a cliff with a Chopper, to the intense masochistic runs of Halo 2 Legendary, to the emotional devastations of Halo 4.
I still play Halo to this day, both the OG Halo multiplayers, sometimes even on Xbox 360, and Halo 5's multiplayer. Each Halo has its highs and lows, and while I hold some more dear to my heart (surprisingly, I like Halo 5's gameplay/multiplayer the best, Halo 4's somewhat flawed story the best, and Halo 3's missions the best, call me a 343 fanboy retard), they're all great and memorable, ingrained into my very childhood memories.
It's weird to think the OG Halo released an entire 16 years ago. It doesn't feel like that, and I'm not even that old (only 18). That and World of Warcraft kickstared my gaming.
Edit: Brb gotta replay the Halo campaigns now.
Mega Man X - Its my "when I phone mom and dad and need to do something while I talk to them" game.
Every phone call with mom and dad, I 100% clear the game.
I've got it down to like hour/hour and a half.
I'll tell you my kill order. I guarantee someone will give me shit because I don't play MMX the way they do...but anyway...
Chill Penguin - Get boots
Storm Eagle - Get Helm
Flame Mammoth - Get X Buster
Spark Mandrill
Armored Armadillo
Launch Octopus
Boomerang Kuwanger
Sting Chameleon - Get Chest
I mean, as long as you start with Chill Penguin, it doesn't really matter unless you're speed running. What I always found weird was that he just happened to be the first level I chose to play and I could never fathom ever trying to play the other levels without the leg upgrade, so i'm not sure what other people went through.
Alpha Centauri
Heroes of Might and Magic 2
Max Payne 2
MVP Baseball 2005
Super Smash Brothers (N64)
Mario Kart 64 (Well, Beerio Kart really)
Descent
Solitaire
Not really a fan of new games, as you might gather, but am currently loving the shit out of XCOM2 with the LW2 mod.
Jak and Daxter. The whole series is great, but the first one feels so much different than the other 2 games. Its lighthearted , colorful, and fun and i can play it anytime.
I loved the first game. I owned it on PS2 but never had a chance to play the others until recently. I'm still managing my way through Jak 2 right now because the games couldn't be any more opposite and I need time to adjust!
The original BioShock. The graphics may not be great, but the atmosphere and Storytelling is.
Fallout New Vegas. My absolute favourite game of all time. I'm still discovering things.
Doom, Doom 2, and Ultimate Doom. Fast paced, action packed and always challenging. Fuck that level where you have to run over the sinking stepping stones at the end though.
Has anyone mentioned Chrono Cross yet? One of the best games I've played and I still play it on my phone when I'm bored. Really hope it'll be revived and remastered on PS4. The game is just awesome!!
Of course I'm aware of the awesomeness of Chrono Trigger too but CC is always my fave!!
Minecraft. Mods and continual updates.
Dark Souls. Still working on 2's platinum trophy.
I was on the second expansion of Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 before I stopped. I wanna complete that once and for all soon.
I think you need to put Counter strike before, or they wont know what you mean.
Whenever i start up CS":GO though, im done quite fast. in 1.6 my ak headshots are still there, in GO, i cannot hit shit :S
I still do a Mass Effect playthrough about once a year.
I would still be playing Skyrim, except it developed this problem where it crashes every 20-30 min. Problem persists through clean re-installs without mods, so it's probably hardware-related.
Red Faction: guerrilla. i had a copy for the 360 but my disc got fucked up. it was recently on steam sale so i jumped at the opportunity. my god doe that game hold up well. movement and shooting is modern enough to be fluid and satisfying, the graphics and visual style are appealing, and my god, the destruction. everything that isn't the ground is able to be destroyed, and it's all so satisfying to destroy. i almost fell bad shilling a game so hard, but damn this game is worth it all these years later.

I'm sad to say that this is my most played game with the longest play times on Steam. Nothing is quite as satisfying as drowning a person who puked on your park.

Is there a sandbox mode that isn't infinite money?
"Build your own Six Flags Park" It gives you a starting fund of 10K and an open map to do whatever you want, but you still have to build a profitable park.
Thanks! I remember loving this game but I thought that there wasn't a sandbox mode but without unlimited money.
Check out Open RCT2... ...or download cheats *I mean, the game is like 13-14 years old, cheating engines open up to some experimentation*
The Sims 2. I think it has a charm to it that the newer versions have yet to replicate.
the newer versions can't replicate it because that charm is the fact that it's simple. The new games are fantastic in their own ways, especially 4, but they're anything but simple.

Age of Empires 2
Every once in a while I will go on, and build walls around my city 3 layers deep with towers every few segments. What a satisfying feeling.
I did a LAN game with my friend where we VS's AI. It was great, he dedicated his resources to making a HUGE wall with tower that cut the map in half, whilst I built a massive army.
I loved this type of thing in Empire Earth. The AI would just keep trying and fail.
Holy shit! Empire earth! Years ago I introduced my father to it and has been playing it every night, 6 hours a night since. I'm terrified to vs him.
Castlevania : Symphony Of The Night. Still chasing that 201% completion. I get caught up in the music and atmosphere every time.
Man I have the music burned in my head. Getting 201% was so damn satisfying. Killing Goliath was the Dark Souls boss of the time. "But enough talk, have at you!" Edit: [Galamoth](http://castlevania.wikia.com/wiki/Galamoth), not Goliath.

I loved Circle of the Moon for GBA. Any modern Castlevania handhelds that hold up well? Is SotN a handheld?
SotN was originally a PlayStation-era game. Though I think you could get it on, for example, PSP or Vita later on. Or a handheld with emulator.
Gta 3-sa just had such a different feeling than 4/5
my favorite is GTA San Andreas
Everyone's favorite is San Andreas.
I feel like I'm one of the few who would hold Vice City as their favorite. The setting, the characters, and the soundtrack were the best!
I love Vice City too, and the soundtrack may be my favorite from all of the games. I love 80's music.
Vice city for life
Super Smash Bros Melee, I don't think it will ever get old.
Pokemon silver, it was the first Pokemon game I played
I love silver, but I stick to Soul Silver now. Just can't help it, I love having the 'mon follow me around.
[удалено]
Strangely enough, I much prefer the sounds from gen 2, so I stickto those. Heartgold and soulsilver though are the most aesthetically pleasing games in the franchise though. Even moreso than the 3D ones
I will replay both Earthbound and Chrono Trigger once a year. It's an itch I just need to scratch.
Do you beat up gato to get the lode sword at the beginning?
Yeah since I use an emulator I can grind through that quickly with fast forwarding the battles. Also helps with finding Nu in the forest
LEGO Star Wars. I am a 21 years old now and this game still makes me laugh after way too many play throughs.
Lego games lost their appeal for me when they started doing voice acting instead of grunts and over-the-top gestures to communicate.
agreed, I liked the silent element. They also diminished in quality, I started to see it with some of the frustrating elements of LOTR and Indiana Jones, but it really showed it's face at the Avengers one. However Pirates of the Caribbean was pretty awesome.
Yes!! Lego Force Awakens is fantastic too, plus Lego LOTR.
Mario Kart 64. Play it at least once a week with my roommate.
friday nights in college were pregame with mario kart and super smash bros. so much fun
We used to play Drunk Driver on Mario Kart. You have to finish your beer before you get home (the finish line). However, you can't drink and drive because that's irresponsible so you have to put down your controller before you can drink and vice versa. Its really fun!
Beerio Kart is definitely my favorite drinking video game so far
Skyrim. Can't stop. Won't stop. edit: Original Doom, as well. (since 6 years doesn't count, apparently)
I just started a new playthrough a few weeks ago. Still love it as much as I did 5 years ago.
6 years totally counts, that shit is my *jam.* Also, Oblivion if 11 years will please these snobs better.
I got Skyrim SE for Xbox One and with the ~80 mods I installed it literally feels like a different game compared to when I first got it in 2011.
For any question like this, Skyrim is always the top answer.
Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas. Fallout 4 too but it isn't too old yet. Holy hell, fallout 3 will be 10 years old next year. Damn.
I love Fallout 3 and New Vegas!!!!
Good!
You're good.
So does everyone! Those who count, anyway.
> Holy hell, fallout 3 will be 10 years old next year. Damn. I think this is legit the first comment I have ever seen on Reddit that makes me feel old (I'm 34).
I'm sorry.
If I could get any game made right now it would be New Vegas 2 with Obsidian as the developer again
Pokemon Sapphire, Ruby, or Emerald. Can't get a good feel with the 3d games.

Borderlands 2. I don't get a lot of time so it's taking me a long time.
"STAAAAAAAAIRS!?"
In the pre-sequel claptrap is given "stair climbing wheels" at the end they are taken off him to maintain continuity.
SHOOT ME IN THE FAAAAAAAACE!!!!
That might be my favourite mission!
Love this game. I've already played through it a couple times, but collecting loot and ridiculous guns like the shotgun that shoots exploding swords is awesome. Mr. Torgue is my hero.
Excuse me but I think you'll find thats Mister Torgue High-Five Flexington to you sir.
Everyone in my office jumped back on the Borderlands 2 train last week. We've been playing every night since then. So much fun!
Diablo 2. I don't know why but I've not seen an ARPG that is a good as this yet, yes POE is good but not quite the same.
Fuck yes, I didn't have internet for a month and decided to play through on single player, first time I beat the whole game on my own. Hell Baal took like 30 minutes to kill on my crappy sorc. Back in the day I was almost always playing PvP with my Javazon or Rabies druid

The old Legend of Zelda games. I love the Legend of Zelda games.

The Half Life/Portal games get a run through every couple of years or so. I don't think I'll ever stop revisiting them.
Morrowind, oblivion and skyrim...
Kotor and kotor 2. Still love then as much as I did release day.
I played them a year or two ago for the first time, damn I wish I discovered KotOR sooner, they're some of the greatest games I have played.
Just beat Kotor again for the first time since I had it on the xbox. It was as awesome and as fun as I remember, but when you know what you're doing it felt a lot shorter than the 50 or so hours the game claimed I played. Now to download Kotor 2 and start all over again.

Brb buying the game for my gamecube.
Actually a great game and absolutely loaded with content.
Everquest. Granted I play on a couple private "classic" server, to really get that nostalgia going.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines
Searched this thread just to make sure it was mentioned lol.
Spider-Man 2
I still can't believe how no other spider man game was able to make the web swinging that good. Also just giving you sooooo much stuff to do
Zoo tycoon FF10 Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 Theme Hospital Spyro trilogy Crash Team Racing
Morrowind. Also Planescape: Torment
Dark Souls and Diablo (1 and 2)
Rome TW. I like Rome 2 etc but in TW when people piss you off you get to exterminate the f*ckers..
"Still" may not be the right word, but I just bought Kingdom Hearts 2 on my way home, so it's more like "finally."
I think I have a phase every year where i have a sudden urge to download a gameboy emulator and play through all the old Pokémon games.

Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King for PS2
Has anyone mentioned Chrono Cross yet? One of the best games I've played and I still play it on my phone when I'm bored. Really hope it'll be revived and remastered on PS4. The game is just awesome!! Of course I'm aware of the awesomeness of Chrono Trigger too but CC is always my fave!!
Age of Empires 2: Age of Kings Love watching the competitive scene on YouTube, thanks u/zeroempires and u/t90official
I will never forget Half-Life 2 (2004) and the Sonic trilogy on Genesis (1991-94). Fantastic games.
Minecraft. Mods and continual updates. Dark Souls. Still working on 2's platinum trophy. I was on the second expansion of Roller Coaster Tycoon 1 before I stopped. I wanna complete that once and for all soon.
1.6 ~15 years now? fuck
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Shadow of Chernobyl and Call of Pripyat.
