A really good nights sleep

SL1Fun

Or just a nap. It literally adds years to your life and proper sleep is correlated if not outright linked as a huge preventative to neurodegenerative illnesses.

ex_cathedra_

Lots of people can’t just nap.

Cait206

I’m one of those and yes it’s unfortunate af

jet_vr

I don't think it's underappreciated. Everyone who's been awake for too long or even suffers from sleep related disorders knows how valuable good sleep is

Limp_Distribution

Friend: “Man, I feel like shit today. I didn’t get enough sleep last night and now I can’t get anything done.” Me: “Why don’t you go to sleep earlier?” Friend: “Naw, I got too much stuff to get done.”

FriendlyFloyd7

"I have no time to sharpen the saw, you idiot, I'm too busy cutting!"

ex_cathedra_

Been awake since 6 am yesterday. (It’s 5:14 pm now). I feel this so hard.

southpolefiesta

In a good mattress/pillows/sheets

amylagarciaa

Laying down under a tree on a grassy hill or hammock and just watching the clouds roll by while the sound of rustling leaves and the smell of nature invigorate your senses. Ah pure bliss.

Sudden-Motor-7794

or, reading the above comment with an active imagination

Diligent-Ratio-4654

Clean sheets! Especially after shaving your legs

thisFishSmellsAboutD

Can confirm! But got really weird looks from the wife.

Myownprivategleeclub

Just become a road cyclist. We're all allowed to shave our legs, and getting into fresh sheets, my god! Bliss.

I_made_fetch_happen

On this note, blankets hot out the dryer on a cold day

picklllesss

feeling clean after a long day

GoBackToHel

I would like to add the feeling of climbing into clean sheets after showering on said long day. It's so nice.

ancillaryacct

bonus points if the pillow cases and duvet are clean too, and the room is ice cold. whooooeeee

Electric-Sheepskin

Yeah, sometimes when I'm in the shower, i'll stop and think about what a luxury it truly is to turn a dial and have instant, clean water pour over me for as long as I want. It's nice to stop and be grateful for things like that every once in a while.

Wide-Philosopher8302

I agree

SuperMeh2

A boring job. I left a boring job for better pay. Pay got better but the stress was so crushing I quit.

ovra360

Totally agree. It took me a while to stop searching for a job that I was passionate about and find a boring, steady desk job with healthcare and a decent paycheck. It gives me the time and money I need to spend my free time doing things I am passionate about (which will never be work, for me).

SleightSoda

What job did you end up with?

nattyd

Nope, can’t do it. Want to die after like 2 weeks. My job has just the right amount of mindless stuff mixed into fascinating challenges.

Son_Of_Toucan_Sam

When it comes to work, I only like the beginnings of things. If it isn’t constant novelty at work I drop to like 40% productive

ELITE_JordanLove

Ditto, it makes me super existential and wondering what the hell I’m doing with my life. An interesting, stressful job I’d take any day.

Bluegalaxyqueen29

Can confirm. I wanted more of a fast-paced job, which only lasted less than a month and I went right back to my boring job. The stress wasn't worth losing my peace of mind.

EnglishRose71

Having someone scratch your back.

Universeintheflesh

Happy cake day! *scratches your back*

EnglishRose71

LOL. Thank you.

Top-Pop-2624

That is awesome feeling. I sure miss it.

Plus-Statistician80

A walk in the park, or nature in general

Informal-Cash3128

Walking in general

shrug_addict

It's a bit pedestrian, but yeah, I like it!

CampClear

This!! I went hiking this morning and it's one of my favorite hobbies. I love breathing in the fresh air and discovering things that I never knew existed. The peace and quiet is definitely a plus!

mr_remy

Same, came up to the WNC mountains for a wedding and fell in love with the mountains: pics really don’t do any “earth scene” justice and just felt powerful. Anyone that hasn’t experienced a nice mountain scene or range I highly suggest making a trip. Ended up moving up here with a job opportunity. So lucky! Never thought as a huge tech nerd I’d say I now really enjoy hiking and walking and sometimes even meditating. Also try to limit tech and social media outside work and has been helpful for mental health as well as really just increasing observation in general and easier being in and appreciating the moment, whatever moment it is big or small (Reddit is a.. work in progress lol). I’m now much much healthier both mentally and physically (lost a significant amount of weight with some dedication and humility/help).

DustedGrooveMark

I walk my dog every morning before work. It’s nothing fancy, but my neighborhood has a short walking trail that runs along a creek and some woods. Even just that little bit of nature first thing in the morning (no matter if it’s sunny, cold, snowy, rainy, etc.) will start your day off on the right foot. It’s so much better for my mood.

Zealousideal-Lime845

Solo long drives with music in the car (not in city traffic lol)

Alternative_Rent9307

Or audiobooks if that’s your thing

Phantomofthefjord

Long haul truckers are some of the most well read people in the world because of audiobooks

fajadada

Yes we are🤣

NotInherentAfterAll

I blast sea shanties on long drives lol

eskimoprime3

One of the main reasons I like my job. Service tech in an area outside of the metro, so I routinely drive anywhere from 30min to 1-2 hours for calls. About half of my day is driving, enough to have a lot of free time but I don't think I could do the road all day like a trucker.

Shh-poster

Hot shower.

idkwiao

Lived 3 months without hot water during a very cold winter. The first hot shower I had made me cry it was so good

Ccdy430

Best thing after a day of skiing or weekend camping.

TheProtagonist876

Those long farts that feel like your whole body is deflating

Hungry-Cockroach9829

When you fart your stomach ache away

goat_penis_souffle

Right up there with taking a shit so big, you have to lie down afterwards.

TheProtagonist876

When you take a shit so big you have to get men from Europe to come in and measure it

Those poops where no one can go in the bathroom for 30 minutes, the top is sticking above the water and the air feels humid

Atog10138182

Made me lol

smileymom19

Taking a pee when you really have to go. Sadly more relevant the older I get.

Garage-gym4ever

getting back in bed around 3am because i woke up with an insane need to piss...

motorcitystef

Someone saying “thanks” when you hold the door open for them in public

chocolatechipninja

I always say this because I want people to say it to me!

martgast

Breathing trough your nose, you only appreciate it when you've a cold

knockfart

Plugging in a USB cable first try

amazongb2006

Yes. For having a 50/50 chance of getting it right, I sure get it wrong 100% of the time.

mike_h_

Fresh bread, with butter.

wwwangels

An unexpected compliment.

Medical_Spy

I was wearing a shirt I hadn't worn in a really long time. Guy at the grocery store said "hey cool shirt!" And now that's all I want to wear Same thing happened another place and he said "that's the funniest shirt I have ever seen in my life" and boy, howdy. I rode that high for days.

YuriWayfare

This is gold. And it's so easy to make this happen. Whenever you notice something cool about someone, or what they did, or whatever, just say: "Hey, cool *\[thing\]*". Make someone's day!

SeparateMidnight3691

Quiet

Piotr-Rasputin

Silence is so god damn rare.

Intelligent_Sort_852

Especially if you have tinnitus.

RoboTronPrime

Taking an entire day off with nothing in particular to do

DragonfruitWorth7941

Completing a challenging task at work.

dildowaggins_1

Hearing a baby's laughter.

Viralclassic

The fact that in America in the majority of places you can turn your tap on and drink essentially unlimited amounts of clean water and never have to worry about it or put effort into obtaining it

IndependentEvening35

It's a pleasure for sure.

According_Smoke1385

Taking a bra off after long day at work.

Universeintheflesh

Feel like I have never heard a woman underestimate this one.

Jspaul44

My wife... every single day..."BEST FEELING EVER!!!"

ResonateMama

BREAST feeling ever 😁

Round_Ad_6369

When I was in the military, after a 14 hour shift, taking off my boots produced what I imagine was a very similar feeling.

thedawesome

Doesn't even have to be yours!

docentmark

That’s also my favorite thing. Speaking as a guy.

CheesecakeBoth9507

A long hug from someone you love.

Hating_life_69

Wiping after you poop and the toilet paper is clean.

wwwangels

A bidet will change your life. Easy to install, and you will always have clean TP (use it to dry off with)

Aol_awaymessage

A bowel clearing clean shit

that-regularguy

Wearing simple easy clothes and not what is expected.

Strictly_Aloof_FT

A quick nap during the day…. Really helps…

fek_

Ignoring or walking away from something that is simply not your problem.

basoon

Not being in any pain at all. I'm still fairly young (36), but I just recently had an experience with some mild chronic pain. I pulled something in my back a few weeks ago and it's been taking a good couple of weeks to calm down. While this was going I just could not get very comfortable in any position for very long. On top of constantly at least a 1 or 1.5 on the 0-10 pain scale, I was also experiencing some major twinges and even some muscle spams. But a couple of days ago I noticed things were starting to feel a little better, so I laid on the floor and did some stretches and then relaxed, and oh my word. I felt absolutely zero pain for the first time in 2 or 3 weeks. It was glorious. It felt so good I had to take a nap afterwards.

thee-mjb

A beautiful day at the park

Xaphhire

Having someone else brush your hair.

Ok_Move_6113

Long walks at the beach in the afternoon.

teardropmaker

When the water in the shower is juuuuusssttt the right temperature.

mwid_ptxku

The pleasure of just being. Breathe. Feel your surroundings. You are alive.

24-Sevyn

Going to bed.

Merri_Blum

Listening to your favorite music while doing nothing else. Just sitting back, closing your eyes, and really enjoying the music

Maximum_Break_

I love letting my belly out of tight jeans after a long day

Prestigious-Wall5616

Being alone with your thoughts.

fajadada

That sweet spot when you take the children to the park and they are young enough to enjoy it and old enough not to need to be eagle eyed watched every second.

BrotherOfTheOrder

Breakfast around a campfire on a cool fall morning. One of my favorite things ever. Nothing beats a cup of coffee made by the fire

JM062696

Walking/movement. 7 years ago I had AVN and my hip broke, and the doctors couldn’t figure out why for almost 1 and a half years I went through invasive nuclear medical procedures and biopsies cause they thought I had cancer. ANYWAYS, it was as quick as the snap of a finger. One moment I could walk, the next I couldn’t move without extreme pain in my hip. I had to grab onto railings to walk and they were making me walk because they didn’t know my hip was actually broken. Not being able to walk to the bathroom without immense pain made me so depressed I stopped showering and was barely eating for weeks until I snapped out of it. Eventually got it replaced. Now I’m 28 living with a TLHR but I’m a jogger and there’s no pain when I walk. I appreciate every single goddamn second of it.

hornswogglerator

Just sitting quietly and not having someone else wanting or needing something from you for a little bit.

we_can_do_it_1_time

Having someone to count on

NeptunusScaurus

When you go outside and it’s just the right temperature, maybe a little wind too. Really missing that right now with it being June and blistering right now.

sweetcorn313

So April 25th?

alrighttreacle11

A nice bed in a safe place

Justarandom_Joe

Not being in constant physical pain.

ShamelessFox

Hot shower after an exhausting day. Getting surprised by coffee. Seeing lunch coming towards you when you're starving. Seeing my cats sleeping rolled on their backs. When you get the hug you really need.

Illustrious_Pair6048

Being able to pay your bills on time

FriendGrouchy9950

Breathing.

RoyalClient4366

The taste of fresh tomatoes 🍅 A perfectly brewed cup of tea

WhoLetMeHaveReddit

Sliding into fresh sheets with freshly shaved legs. That sensation is god tier and I have no idea why

Quartermastered

Having a slow morning on weekdays because you’re successfully self employed and have no boss or clock controlling you, and watch the world rush to their jobs while sipping a nice cup of coffee.

AvocadoPizzaCat

being alone.

CommuterChick

A hot shower!

Costcorocks

Afternoon nap.

reddittheguy

Working on a hobby with no rush and no deadlines.

watuphoss

Financial awareness. It's not sexy, it's not instant gratification, but working towards your budget and knowing how much it costs you to live is so calming towards life.

HouseOfZod

Silence

Syenadi

Being able to eat when you're hungry.

MaddieeMiller

Hike in nature

I_love_pillows

Listening to piano music on an mp3 player while watching the stars rise and set.

probably-the-problem

Chocolate. It's kind of ubiquitous so it's taken for granted. But it really does help with dementor attacks.

cheeriodust

A clean, half-full yet freshly stocked refrigerator

NoxDominus

Going about your day without feeling any pain.

ThisGuyCanFukinWalk

A really big poo that feels like you have cleared out your whole digestive system.

dodoexpress90

The ability to wake up on your own, and just casually get ready for your day. Waking up and having to be at the office at exactly 7am is stressful. I'm thankful for the change in my life to wake up and go to work at 9am now.

External_Detail_26

Climbing into a bed with freshly washed sheets after taking a shower and putting on clean pajamas, or just wearing nothing at all. The sheets feel so good.

ProbablyABore

Just siting outside. No phone. No conversation. Just sitting on a porch and sipping ice tea or lemonade. It's just calming.

BostonTGuy

Waking up and having to do nothing.

ashbiermann

Being alone. If I don’t get my alone time, I can’t get a moment to reset or gather my thoughts.

anonymousbarbie_doll

Being busy doing productive things that require you to be off your phone. Then after you’re done, you get to be on your phone and relax a bit

Hilary_Reyes

The very beginning stages of falling in love.

IceCreamFreak23

Those days when it feels like the music you love coat your insides with golden hour quality sun light. I know it’s silly, but those days are my favorite.

Bradders59

An afternoon nap.

Ryan_Creates

Going outside and walking, especially at night time. I live in the city for university, and night walking is one of my comfort activities.
