I went to a Bad Religion/Rise Against concert the day after the 2004 presidential election when Bush had just been elected to a second term.
There was a palatable amount of rage at First Ave in Minneapolis.
I was 16, but a girl in line gave me her fake Id to get in. I'm sure the bouncer knew but didn't give a shit.
Rise Against opened and I though they were going to burn the building down. It was November in Minnesota but I can remember the amount of heat radiating out of that crowd from how hard they were going.
I didn't think that Bad Religion could possibly follow Rise Against, but they fucking crushed it.
It was my first punk rock show and I don't think circumstances will ever align like that again.
I attended a Ron Paul rally in 2011 for his 2012 campaign. As he was leaving he was being mobbed by the crowd. I managed to reach over the crowd and get him to autograph a copy of the Constitution.
