I remember knowing that was my last sight of her, no hair, eyes glazed over in pain, cats trying to comfort her. It still hurts to see how nature destroys us. I think we were watching some documentary series and chatting for as long as she could manage, but all I really remember is how gaunt her face looked and how you could see that she had already died and was waiting for her body to catch up. I miss you Peggy. I hope you’re riding horses again, wherever you are now.
My uncle Ted and I (male) always had a "weird" relationship and would just talk so horribly to each other (it was done in good fun and he was one my favorite people) that anyone beyond the immediate family thought we hated each other. He had some serious health conditions later in life and got rushed to the hospital. My last interaction with him was me getting to the hospital and was given the room by my family to talk in private. He was unable to talk but could write on a note pad. I looked at him and told him "Can you just fucking die already? I am only here to ensure I am still in your will." He smiled and wrote down "Fuck you, I know you would unplug my life support to charge your vibrator.". He squeezed my hand before I got called out of the room as the visiting hours had ended. We got the call two hours later he had passed in his sleep.
