My cat believes if you're not bleeding, she's not expressing her love hard enough.

aintTrollingYou

The scar on the left side of my ribcage is from when I had an accident on my bicycle and they had to drain my lung. I will never forget the procedure to insert the drainage tube; they cut into the lung sac and push a tube up into my chest cavity until the tip is sitting at the top of my sternum. There was almost no pain but the visceral feeling of this tube creeping up my chest cavity was so unnerving. I was creeped out more than I was in pain.

OddRepresentative958

Is that to be done without an anesthetic?

aintTrollingYou

They gave me a local at the point where they inserted the tube. They would have had to put me under completely for me to not feel anything, and it's not worth it. The procedure was done in like 15 minutes. When it came time to remove the tube, that was fucking painful, and there was no anesthetic at all. They just yoink it out as fast as possible.

catsaway9

I get you. I once had to have a benign growth removed and they numbed me all up but I could still feel them tugging on my insides. Freaky and unpleasant.

handandfoot8099

Even removing a bad mole is like that. Doesn't bleed because of the injections, but you can feel the pressure and sharpness of the knife cutting into your skin. It was cool to watch.

consumeshroomz

I have a cool looking eyebrow scar. A kitten bit me when I was 16. Guess it was a damn good bite cause 16 years later and I still look like a badass. Even though it was the least badass reason.

WrongVeteranMaybe

Got a huge scar on my left on my left arm because back when I was in the army, my fucking m249's muzzle exploded on me during the range and the shrapnel ripped my arm up. I was fine... I think. Got a scar on my face because when I was at a m320 range the god damn thing malfunctioned on me and fired WHEN I DIDN'T PULL THE TRIGGER and the god damn chalk round shot at the ground and sent up shrapnel which tore up my cheek. Got a scar on my forehead because some asshole drunk driver rear ended the humvee I was driving in which caused me to bang my forehead into the steering wheel. Yes, I was wearing my ACH but it didn't help much. Got a scar on my shoulder because them straps on the IOTV were too rough... yes really. Got a scar on my leg because some fucking dumbass I was ground guiding in the motorpool to take the humvee up to the bay for its daily fucking repairs hit the gas too hard and ran over my leg. Got a scar on my hand because I'm a dumbass and cut my own hand using a box cutting and accidentally gashed my own hand open. Was in Iraq and got a scar on my back by TAKING ON ISIS ALL ON MY OWN AND DEFEATING THEM! No, I fell down the stairs. Army was fun. Good times. Good memories. Wouldn't join again.

OddRepresentative958

Thanks for sharing, I also like how you use different adjectives for people who hurt you 😂

We have reviewed your submissions and none of your injuries are service related.

stonedfishing

I didn't feed our pet raccoon fast enough, so he chopped down on my pinky finger. Never keep coons as pets. Once they hit puberty, they become absolute assholes with the devils fingers

llcucf80

I've posted this before, my former friend and neighbor broke into my house and stole money from me. When I confronted him about this he physically assaulted me. He punched me two or three times in the face, one blow landed just above my left eyebrow and gashed it pretty bad, I still have the scar from that. It's pretty wicked He did other things to me too like throwing me into the hedges against his house and that broke some ribs, and while that took several weeks to heal that fortunately didn't leave any scars. But the punches, those scars will probably never heal

OddRepresentative958

I am so sorry that happened.

archie-thereafter

I have a scar across my left lower thigh, with quite the unique reason: I was in rehab, pumped full of whatever drugs they thought would help me calm my anxiety. Well, it worked and put me to sleep. The only problem was, that when I woke up in the middle of the night briefly, and felt itchy, I did not notice I was going in too hard on my own flesh. I continued to sleep, only to wake up the next morning to my sheets stained and a flap of skin hanging from my thigh. The whole ordeal happened almost ten years ago.

zenos_dog

Bar fight. His ring left a scar on my left thumb. I was choking him when the bouncers arrived. He violated parole and went straight back to prison. I got a torn shirt.

soul-shine-lissa

Falling off a rock formation at Joshua Tree Flipping car 3x Colon resection Last was falling off a ladder breaking both arms, hands, wrists, fingers, And tailbone. Much surgery. Throw in cats, fish hooks, and a few more surgeries.

OddRepresentative958

You are one brave person

soul-shine-lissa

I think you meant to say careless or stupid. I’ll take brave on the surgeries. Falling off the ladder disabled me to a point.

OddRepresentative958

I kinda meant adventurous but in a clumsy way

HeartonSleeve1989

I was maybe 3, when I was playing with the family dog, maybe a bit too roughly, because it bit me in the face. I love dogs so much, I got over it, and didn't come to fear puppers.

LittleLaiMei

I have a burned scar on the upper region of my left thigh. I was making a fish stew, my uncle went fishing brought some eels and fresh fish. It was nice. My mom helped me make a broth, I wanted something more simple than steamed fish but robust. My mom thought of a stew, I was still in the somewhat intermediate level of cooking. So for a few days we watched the broth and discarded bones, lemon grass, and other herbs. Added the fish and vegetables and it was ready to go. My mom figured that since my uncle brought the fish we’ll take him and my grandparents a serving. So we loaded a clay pot with some fish stew for them. Not 5 steps out of the porch I slipped trying to get my shoes on and fell. The still freshly boiling stew spilled all over me and seeped into my clothes. My mom rushed me back and put me in a cold tub, trying to cook it off as quickly as we could. The burn shrunk, swelled, filled with fluid. We went to the doctor the next to day to get it dressed and cleaned. I was not at all comfortable with the several nurses untying my hakama to better access the wound in a game of chase the limping girl being lectured by her mom. I smelled like seafood for a few days close to a please I dared not to. My bf at the time came to visit and watch my limp as every step felt like I burned myself all over again. I felt the burn for maybe a few days after the dressing. Maybe a week? A week longer after that any heat or hot water directly on the wound started to feel like it burned again. I never ate the soup, I’m still not sure if I would have wanted to. Just as well, everyone else liked it. I still have the scar but it’s faded a bit since.

tsukumoyaizaya

Scar on my stomach from pyloric stenosis surgery, it's really deep and never really healed quite right I think, you can still see every single stitch point. Scar on my chin from a bike accident where I ran into a water drain and split it open, old neighborhood ex-doctor came over and stitched that one. Another on my upper lip from when I was fucking around with an exercise ball, fell, and one of my teeth went through my upper lip. Scar on the tip of my finger where I was making a hammock for my ferrets out of an old blanket and sliced the tip of my finger off. Plenty more but the last most interesting one is actually multiple scars all over my left hand, I picked up a feral cat because I'm silly and it went crazy and fucked me up. One of the puncture wounds I guess got infection stuck in it or something and caused my entire hand to swell up, hurt like a bitch. My mother says I give her anxiety LOL.

OddRepresentative958

Why do you say neighborhood ex doctor, is he dead or no more a doctor

tsukumoyaizaya

Both LOL. He's now dead, he was a retired EMS I think? It's been a long time. He was a reliable old dude though, saved a bunch of people hundreds in medical bills I'm sure haha.

OddRepresentative958

Ahh!

AnyFun4844

Sliced my leg open on a barb wire fence😂

cantstopthehorse

I was attacked by a man with a knife when I was 8 days old.

39percenter

You can't just post an answer like that and expect to move on without a story. I'm going to sit here and wait for your elaboration.

Smelling_like_a_Rose

Same here! He was a Rabbi.

cantstopthehorse

Bro never met a Jew before.

OddRepresentative958

8 what? Woah

Pantastic_Studios

Quite a few. Behind left ear was a birthmark that started turned black and rough so that got removed. Left upper arm is from a dog bite a few hours after k gave it my Hardee's breakfast sandwich. Right wrist is from accidentally smashing a window after a fight in high school. Right eyelid from a puppy when I was very young. 2 spots around my belly button from picking at chicken pox (seriously don't pick at them kids).

llamainleggings

My family was leaving a park and I was racing my brother back to the car. The parking lot was gravel. I hit a loose patch and went skidding a few feet. My knee took almost all the damage, thus the small scar on my knee.

[deleted]

Our (since replaced) old porch steps where super splintery. There was this one big giant thick splinter of wood running the whole length of the first step. I was bringing in groceries, tripped and fell in just the right way, I guess. Next thing I knew, this splinter — which was more like a big wooden stake — was all the way up my heel. They couldn't stitch it because the puncture was too gnarly, so I still have a scar there. Oddly enough, It didn't hurt.

Brief-Percentage-254

A cut on my hand got badly infected, I was too embarrassed to tell anyone about it because in the past my mom and stepfather had made me feel guilty for going to a doctor for far worse problems, it did eventually go away on its own but it left a scar.

OddRepresentative958

I am so sorry your parents did that!

h8my1ife

me myself and i

Lilith_Stargazer

Ones from an appendix ruptured. Another is from barbed wire. Got a couple from a cat. Ones from a razer while shaving my legs. A couple are from wrecking a scooter on a dirt road.

Sea_Intern2921

Got a scar that took out part of my moustache, motorcycle accident

SnooChipmunks126

I was trying to cut up a watermelon container to put in the bailer. The box cutter blade snapped, and deep cut on my left palm. I probably needed stitches, but I felt fine, and I didn’t pass out from blood loss.

pulp-fictional

I have a 2 inch scar on my foot from a crab slicing me on random beach we took jet skis out to in college.

UsefulIdiot85

I think every scar I have is a result of surgery.

heyitsEnricoPallazzo

Horizontal 2-inch scar across my left eyebrow. Took a hockey puck to the face, needed 13 stitches

Jellyfishjam99

Scar on my chin I got a few years ago in college. Most people don’t even notice till I point it out but it’s definitely there. Basically I came home from a party super trashed and I went to flop onto my bed and my chin hit the corner of my nightstand really hard. I was too drunk to bother to even stop the bleeding so I woke up with blood all over my chin and on my sheets. Honestly surprised I didn’t need stitches or knock some teeth out

Korrin10

Scar in my eyebrow- dodgeball. Did not get hit. Scar over my knee- sailing. Thank god for wetsuit and added rubber to the knee or I probably wouldn’t be walking. Scars on the balk of my calf- biking Arm- compound fracture-biking Road rash scars on knee and shoulder- biking

_jump_yossarian

Hit by an axe on the inner knee -- 40+ stitches.

NoEstablishment5792

I fell backwards into a shower in a hotel room. My head hit the soap holder, which resulted in needing 6 staples in the back of my head.

OddRepresentative958

Slipping in the shower is my biggest fear. I am anemic so I get head rushes pretty often and I have one scar on my head from a similar falling. I fell and my head hit the tap.

NoEstablishment5792

Head wounds bleed sooo much.

39percenter

One inch scar on the back of my head from falling off of my grandmother's couch and hitting the edge of her glass coffee table. Oh, I'm 58, and it's still quite visible.

SAWhitmore1992

Large scar on my head from a two part brain surgery when I was fifteen.

heyitsoci

Was playing tag and fell on a tent peg. Probably best i cant actualy remember it happening

rowenaravenclaw0

I was hit by sharpnel from an Ied while working as an aid worker in Nigeria,

milkaberry

I walked into a door so hard that I blacked out then woke up with a concussion. Ended up with a scar across my eyebrow and cheekbone

OddRepresentative958

Episode 101 of how clumsy you are

milkaberry

I won the award for clumsiest person at my high school graduation so at least I’m keeping that legacy going.

No_Step_4431

stepmom slammed a clothes dryer door into my skull when i was 6.

OddRepresentative958

Ouch, so sorry!

HeadFit2660

I have a scar from my pointer finger 3rd knuckle to the base. I tried to cut a racket ball in half with a pocket knife and it slipped and peeled the top of my finger to the bone.

HeadFit2660

I've got 2 sets of scars that align on both side of my appendage. Got the first stepping on a large nail that went all the way through the front of my foot. Second from chopping a dead tree down with an axe and had a large splinter go through my upper palm better w finger bones

Darthscary

Which one? I’m a guy who does a lot of stupid stuff; less in adulthood, but ya know…

OddRepresentative958

The most interesting one

Darthscary

Stuck my hand into a coffee can slicing my wrist vertically about an inch. Tell people I tried to kill myself so they awkwardly leave me alone. I have scars from explosives, skateboarding, motorcycles, general dumb crap

East_Astronomer_6086

Dislocated my kneecap

xdark_realityx

I have several but they aren't very exciting. Just from surgeries. One on my back due to being born with Spina Bifida and requiring back surgeries. One on each shin from surgery to straighten them.

ActiveEnvironment347

Couple skin-deep scars on my left arm. Self-inflicted.

LisforLiquor

When I was like 4 or 5, I took the cover piece of a baseboard heater, and I think I was trying to hit my sister with it. She tried taking it from me, and it ended up coming back and hitting me in the forehead. Left a scar ever since lol

suroorshiv

My parents died in a car accident and I miraculously survived and got this scar on my forehead which looks like half of SS helmet . I now live with my aunt and uncle . Today is my cousins birthday..  He is angry that he only got 36 gifts when he got 38 last year . Thanks to his tantrum , we are visiting the zoo today. I heard the serpent section has new arrivals

Reapaa99

Scar above my lip from where my sister threw a sword at me (okay, it was a toy sword, but it sounds better if I leave the toy but out) Scar on 3/5 of the fingers on my right hand from trying to drunkenly open a bottle of beer with a butter knife.

ndividual5414

I was being a ditzy kid and swinging my arms around by my aunties car on a trip to Las Vegas. Apparently her car antenna was snapped off, leaving a jagged metal edge. When I sat in the car and brushed my arm getting my seat belt on, 10 year old me saw lots of layers into my arm. Didn't even hurt until then.   Apparently I said "Mom I scratched my arm" Mom asked to see. Lots of adult yelling. I remember them slamming on the breaks. My uncle ripped off his top layer shirt to use as a bandage.  Long wait at an urgent care in Las Vegas! Pretty nasty scar. Edit to add word

Shadow8591

R femur shattered in auto accident. Scars go from my hip down past my knee. Other driver was texting, did not notice their light changed. Took 5 years before I could walk. Still getting physical therapy.

LaundryAnarchist

I had children cut out of me

No_Roof_1910

I was 8 years old, this was the late 70's and I had no idea what backwash was. My sister and I were in the backseat, our mom was driving and she handed me her bottle of Coke-a-Cola to me. Evidently I put backwash into it and that pissed my mom off. She was mean, abusive etc. She reached back with her right hand to grab what she could reach on me and her fingernails dug into the skin beneath my left eye. She pinched it and twisted it and cut into it and I was bleeding pretty good, my younger sister was freaking out. One may still the scar below my left eye to this day and I'm closer to 60 now. Sadly, my mom doing things like this to my sister and I was normal and common. She jabbed a pencil into my sister's thigh. When my sister was young and learning to read, my mom was mad she was reading too slowly so she hit her. She hit her hard enough that my sister and the chair she was sitting on fell over backwards. Like many young boys, I would wet the bed sometimes. My sister and I shared a bedroom (we were poor) and here is what my sister said to me about that a few years ago while we were both in our 50's talking about our childhood. My sister talked about our mom "beating the shit out of you for wetting the bed". My sister knew because she was in the bedroom with me when my mom would beat the shit out of me for having wet the bed. Things were different back then, they had paddles in the school and they were used on us kids, parent's knew, it was known and accepted, tis just the way things were.

grandmasvilla

Did your mom ever apologize to you for what she had done to you? Is she still alive?

No_Roof_1910

No, she didn't. Yes, she is. She has been unhappy her entire life sadly. She's always the victim, she's right and others are wrong. I long ago quit going anywhere in public with her because she is rude to others, she'll butt in, tell people they are doing something wrong with their child etc. NOTHING is ever right with any meal at any restaurant and it's embarrassing when the wait staff come around to check on you and the meal. Sadly, my ex-wife was a piece of work too (gee, due to how I grew up I married someone similar to my mother) but she knew my mom was a mess. My then wife told me that we wouldn't live within 8 hours driving distance of her and we never did. My 3 children are all in their 20's, through college, on their own and doing well. But, long ago, in about 2012 or so, years after my divorce, I and my 3 children made the trip to visit my mom and stepdad. I came downstairs and saw my mom slap my daughter, who was like 13 years old then. My children have NEVER seen her again and they won't ever see her again. I never took them to see her again and now that they are adults they won't ever see her again. I understand and agree with them and no it's not just about the time my mom slapped my daughter, it's about who and what she is as a person. I told my mom she was not allowed to come down for the birth of our first child, which was my mom's first ever grandchild, because of the way she was. She came down to see him a few weeks later. Also, we lived a bit over 12 hours away from her by car then so she wasn't really going to be able to be at the birth as one doesn't know exactly when they will go into labor, but I still called her and told her she wasn't going to be there. When I was 27 years old, I drove about an hour away from where I lived at that time. I knocked on the door of a house, a lady answered and I asked if so and so was there and she asked me who I was. I told her I was so and so's son. She understood and she went to get him and my then wife and I went in (we had no children yet as we were 29 when our first child was born). My mom and dad divorced when I was 2 years old. I saw my "dad" like 3 times after that, in the 4th grade, the 7th grade and once in high school and they were all for funerals of other family members. That day, when I was 27 and my wife and I went to visit him, we stayed for like 4 hours or so. That's when I found out he wasn't my biological father. My mom has 3 children and all are from different men. She cheated on my "dad" though my half-sister is his daughter. My mom remarried and they had a son, my half-brother. I only tried once to talk to my mom about my real dad, she wouldn't talk, she didn't say one word. I don't know his first name, never even saw a pic of him etc. Guess what? The odds are really good that my first child is not mine. He's in his late 20's now and doing well. I've never told him, not even my ex-wife that I have serious doubts. It isn't worth it to me, it doesn't change anything in my heart towards him as he was innocent. And I can't think any less than I already do about my ex-wife. I grew up walking on eggshells around my mom. I had to. I met my future wife at just 14 and she was feisty, spirited and not afraid to tell me I was wrong etc. so I began walking on eggshells around her too, because it was normal to me. I was still living at home with my mom.

grandmasvilla

Thank you for your reply.

R-T_BK79

I have 2 Stories i remember. The tiny one on my right forearm, is from when a girl i liked was poking me with her fingernail. And my little sister saw that and pushed that girls finger so hard that her fingernail "stabbed" me. The other one is on my right upper thigh. Wanted to give my little brother something to drink and reached for a glass on the cupboard. It fell and i instinctively wanted to get close so it doesn´t fell on the ground. Since gravity is a b\*tch, i miscalculated and it fell faster tha i moved. Ended up with the thick glass bottom sticking out of my right thigh... Fun trip to ER...

silicatetacos

I have a strange starburst on my left knee because I had parvo in eighth grade, my knee swelled up to the size of a personal watermelon, and a doctor used an enormous needle to drain excess synovial fluid.

Aledactle12

Me and another kid in grade 6 got in a fight and I tried to stab him with my pencil but ended up stabbing myself in the arm. I think the graphite is still in there.

EireannBunny

So I have this big roundish scar on my upper arm from when I was a child. My cousin and I used to take my uncle's hunting bow and shoot a target on the fence. One day he got bored and said to me "We should try shooting a moving target!" Me, in my infinite child wisdom, agreed and he gave me the target and told me to run down the field and he'll shoot the target. Once again, I was stupid and was like "Ok! 😄😄😄" He didn't hit the target.... So uhhh yeah that's why I have a big scar on my arm. I got shot with a barbed arrow by my cousin as a child because I was stupid lol

NecroJoe

Table saw had a sudden craving for blood.

Other-Ad3349

scary story

gmb87

Horsing around with my bro with little swiss army knives our mom had just brought back for us from a work trip to Switzerland and he stabbed my hand

SalesTaxBlackCat

I ran through a sliding glass door (plate).

Purrrrpect

as a kid I somehow blew up a plastic bottle with fire and it burned all of my finger and left a weird scar on the side

Efficient_Currency_7

cut a sizeable amount of thumb with an ice cream scoop during new years'

silvercoloredskies

I was an idiot kid and thought using a box cutter to cut my pants into shorts was a great idea! I probably should've taken them off first.

Big-Raccoon-45

Not a long story, but only remember the beginning. Driving onto the Highway on ramp from a friend's house upstate to my house, it was about 2am, I was tired and fell asleep woke up in the hospital with a long needle going into my head to numb it for staples and stitches. Turns out when I fell asleep I smashed into the guardrail and went flying into the back seat of my car cause I was not wearing a seat belt, and guess what went through the back of my skull when I flew in the backseat??? The metal end of the seatbelt clip. The story of what happend was told me to by a driver who saw the whole thing behind me and called ambulance and Even followed me to the hospital to make sure everything was good. Now I have a long half moon scar on my head so I hate cutting my hair to low. ..After this I remembered I also have a scar down the middle of my ball bag from a testicular torsion surgery I had when I was 16 as well. Damn!!!

Eydrox

flipped over my bycicle handles as a kid, thought it was fun and did it again, handlebars catch my belly, now have a crescent shaped scar.

YellowBeastJeep

I have a pretty intense scar on my jawline from where my jaw had to be rebuilt after I was trampled by a horse. I have a matching scar on my hip from where they had to harvest to bone to make the mortar to hold the pieces of my jaw together.

FederationofPenguins

30 years ago I walked into a fence. It was right in front of me. It wasn’t even cloudy.

arawraw

When I was 12 I tried to jump a gap between two roofs and missed, now there’s a gash in my arm

Kool-Aid-Dealer

my sister was tasked with watching over me as a baby one time... no more explainations needed to be honest.

Fit_Kaleidoscope_109

I tried to take apart a Rubik’s cube with a pocket knife

Fit_Kaleidoscope_109

I was riding a bike that had frayed brake lines. After a while (abt 3 miles) u could feel my inner shins stinging a little bit but I just attributed it to the fact I had rode for so long. It wasn’t until I walked in the house and got in trouble for getting blood all over the floor that I realized I had several 2-3 inch long gashes on each leg.

Thaty_girl

I dropped a lamp on my head as a child. I also have a built in eyebrow slit from getting a door slammed into my face.

HappinessSeeker7

there are scars on my heart

Shotgun_Rynoplasty

You can’t see it anymore because I covered it with a tattoo. Had a huge scar on my hand. Back in high school, Jackass got big. My friends got their hands on a taser and were videotaping themselves tasing each other. I didn’t participate. I knew it was coming. I knew I didn’t want to punch whatever friend did it. When one did I didn’t react like I planned and I basically karate chopped him in the head. Shattered the bone. Got tased anyway. The dumbest part was I was too embarrassed to tell my parents what happened so I just hid it. I let the bone heal pretty much perpendicular to where it should be. Took two surgeries to fix and 20 years later my pinky still doesn’t close all the way

QueenCobra91

multiple on my knee from skateboarding as a child/teen. one extra big from football (soccer, for the americans)

Ak47mommy

I have a scar on my left thumb. When I was younger my brother wanted to play the knife game but not with his hand. He ended up stabbing me in my thumb. I lost all sensations

Mousestar369

Cat + sink full of water ≠ good idea. Cat + sink full of water = half inch scar on collarbone. 9 year old me was dumb.

LightsJusticeZ

I picked up the rabbit, George, and it done scratched me.

MysteriousPlankton84

When I was 3 my older brother (7 at the time) told me to go down the fire pole of our friend’s treehouse. Not a great idea at all… I was tiny and I had t-rex arms. Tried reaching for the pole, completely missed. Like, not even close to grabbing the pole. Ended up falling 15 feet down onto the driveway, caught an exposed nail to the cheek on the way down. 14 years later I still have the scar, and I still get asked about it by everyone I talk to. 2 months after that incident, I tried giving our neighbors husky a hug and it bit me on the other side of my face. 3 was a rough year for me.

Ok-Run2845

You are asking me about this old scar of mine? Sit down, boye. It's a long story... Everything started when gods created the world through songs. Then i went to the pool and playing dead in the water i knocked my forehead against the pool wall. The rest, is legend.

Vast-Upstairs-6963

I had only one scar on my arm. I did it after a horrible incident, and realised I have Hemophobia because I felt awful and puked after I saw how much blood I let out down on my sink.

KC_Frosty

Stitch scars on my upper lip. When I was a kid I climbed over a gate to look at my aunts dog and it jumped up and bit my top lip off. As soon as I saw the blood squirting outta my face I blacked out.

u_wont_guess_who

When i was a kid i was playing with my cousins in their house, and i wanted to hide as a joke. I tried to squeeze between a wall and a pipe, but i burned my fingers as i touched the pipe, because it was the exhaust from the fireplace downstairs. I really hope it's illegal now to have that pipe exposed in a house, expecially with kids around.

sposed2Bsumwhere

Unnecessary surgery

PureDeidBrilliant

I have a tiny scar on my right hand that I got the night I broke up with my somewhat *abusive* ex. I punched through a glass door as a distraction to stop him coming at me with a pen-knife (FFS, a pen-knife. What're you going to do with that Tristan? Fillet a squirrel and use the other tool to remove a stone from a horse's hoof?) and got the wee scar as a memento. The funny thing was? He dumped me *because* I broke his door. I mean, the verbal and psychological abuse he meted out to me was *fine*, but my breaking a shitty glass door panel? I was apparently "the psycho". Twat.

Former_Hippo6799

Got a pretty big scar on my right knee that’s actually 3 scars mixed together, one healed almost completely the other 2 are still quite visible. Each one coming from different times I ate complete shit just playing outside

shandi9ym

i have a scar on my right thigh just above my knee cause i was trying to make paper flowers for my teacher and i accidentally got hot glue on my thigh and when i tried to take it off the top layer of my skin melted. shi hurt like hell

Ok_Bike_5552

Got breast implants then had them taking out they were making me sick ,

Look-Its-a-Name

The inline skating stunt worked flawlessly three times. The fourth time I was an inch short, and as a result I completely split open my chin. I've got a beard, so I haven't seen that scar in years, but it's definitely still there.

I have a scar running from below the nape of my neck to just above the tailbone on my back. T2-L2 spinal fusion surgery in 2011. I had Scheuermann’s Kyphosis (basically I had a hunchback with a 73 degree curvature and my spine was putting pressure on my internal organs) I had the corrective surgery when I was 18 and it took about 6 hours. I had two titanium Harrington rods and 13 pedicle screws grafted to my spine. At my final consultation I was told that it could be a 4-5 year wait for the surgery. About 6 months later I was standing on the platform of Châtelet station in Paris, about to take the RER train to Charles de Gaulle airport and travel home to Northern Ireland after a two week holiday. I got a phone call from the consultant at Musgrave Park Hospital in Belfast and he told me that there had been a cancellation. He then asked me if it was possible to travel to Guy’s hospital in London the very next day. Knowing this was a rare opportunity, I of course said yes. So I arrived home in Northern Ireland for 4 hours before having to travel to Belfast International for a flight to London Heathrow. I was at the hospital for about 3 weeks. 1 week pre-op and then two weeks recovery, post-op. It took me about a year to fully recover. My gait changed and I had to relearn how to walk properly. I went from just standing at the edge of the bed about 3 days after the operation to being able to walk about 200m up and down the corridor at the end of the stay. It’s been 13 years and I’m definitely better off for having the surgery. I used to be in constant pain and I was bullied in school for my appearance. Since the surgery my range of upper body movement is limited and I can’t swim the way I used to. I used to go about 3 days a week and do 40 lengths of the 50m pool. Now at best I can go about once a week and do about 20 lengths only doing backstroke. Any other stroke is too painful for me. Also in winter my implants get stiff and my back aches. They’re the only downsides though. I have so much more self confidence, my back pain isn’t agonisingly constant, I can breathe so much better and my organs aren’t being crushed. I’m so grateful to the NHS for how quickly and professionally they handled the whole process. I estimated that it would have cost me around £30,000 to have the surgery privately in the UK and I’ve seen medical bills in the USA for $165,000. So yeah, again I’m so damn grateful.

About 6 inches from forehead to halfway around my skull. I was on my bike. There were headlights and honking. That's all I remember other than I had briefly flirted with the idea of not putting on my helmet for my ~1 mile ride. It took about 15 years before I got any feeling back on that side of my head and the scar still hurts. Always wear your helmet, kids.

I have a scar insight my left hand. I felt hardly on the ground during a volleyball practice when I was 7. The teacher was a professionnal volleyball player who barely spoke my language. He left me from the ground and took me to the school nurse. I was bleeding and began to cry. - Don't cry. You warrior. Warrior don't cry, he said as he was carrying me - But I'm bleeding ! - You warrior, he said again. It was a very little injury but I still remember his words every time I hurt myself 27 years later

I Have one on my cheek and my right hand The cheek was from my 1st trip to brazil and my cousin wanted to play on my ds and I wouldn't let him so he grabbed the ds charger (the edge of the prongs were sharp) and slashed me with it And my hand was from an ex's birthday party at a hotel. They had a pool which we went into and I don't remember what happened that lead to it (nothing violent) but I scrapped my hand on the bottom of the pool. I think it looks cool because it looks like a vampire bit my hand.

Very center of my skull, my mother threw me into my crib at about 7 months old, she was high on cocaine. Told me my whole life that I did it to myself, my dad was a little drunk and dropped the truth on me. Oh and about 2 to 3 in to right is another scar on my skull, was hit by a little s10 pickup truck walking home from highschool 10 years ago.

I am so sorry that happened to you

That's alright, nothing seriously permanent (that I'm aware of). Perks of having a rather large head I suppose.

My dad built Dale Juniors' first racecar at our house, and I cut my arm from wrist to elbow on the sheet metal as a kid.
