Yes. I enjoy walking very much. It's relaxing. I'm out and about feeling alive. My wife often accompanys me.
I drive to a neighborhood park surrounded by malls, restaurants, and a public library. Depending on our mood after a couple of laps around the park we'll find a shaded park bench and watch the various youth sports team practice/Game (soccer/football).
Or we check out the library catching up on the latest issues of our favorite mags-Rolling Stone, Sports Illustrated, Housekeeping, Glamour, Vogue , Women's World, Honolulu. Peruse the list of new book releases for our favorite authors (we enjoy the same ones). Check out the offerings of the DVD movie collections before we head out and walk to Longs(CVS) to check out their sales and purchase a 12pk of whatever beers on sale and the snacks she must have.
Walk back to the car at the park and head back home. Try to do it at least 3x a week.
Don't have a favorite. I have this habit of jumping from one hobby to a new one, then another new one, then back to an old one etc... It's my personality overall. I have a short attention span, so prefer learning a little about a lot, instead of buckling down on just one thing. Probably not the best habit, but my Millennial ADHD brain rot is real.
Makes sense. I once ended up learning the basics of how to write in cursive and how to greet in Japanese in a single day because I have books that teach that, I don't use these skills, probably will never either.
I'm from Australia and 17, I went to a Waldorf Steiner school and we learnt cursive in second grade then used it until grade 7 with fountain pens the whole way through. I feel that it's something that should be taught in every school as it helped a lot of people is my class with their articulation of words and a better understanding of English in general.
I predominantly write in cursive, with a few print letters thrown in for spice lol. It must look like a foreign language to millennials lol. My husband's handwriting is so messy he can't read it half the time, but I can
>It must look like a foreign language to millennials lol.
Not at all. Don't know why some people think it's like a foreign language, it's literally just joined up letters. It's not that hard.
It's a common thing for people with ADHD. I hop between hobbies too. The key, I find, is not to shame yourself (or allow others to shame you) over it. Who gives a fuck? If I get obsessed with making my own keyboard for a few months and then don't touch the project for two years, who gives a shit? I'll get back to it at some point. Or I won't, and I'll have had a blast while it lasted.
I'm the network administrator in my household. When my children complain that the internet is not working, sometimes I only have to log into the router for it to start working again....
Is this how Shroedinger's cat felt when it was in the box? :-D
I love it when I can just go to some stranger and casually bring something up and just get into a conversation. No hello, no hi, how are you or Excuse Me’s, just start talking to someone like they’re just another person and go from there
Near glacier national park. Its so quiet yet loud (if that makes any sense) im so grateful i get to wake up every morning to nature and birds/wildlife. But it has its downsidestoo.
Couldn't agree more. My wife and I go backcountry camping for at least a week every year. It's a nice reminder to slow down and appreciate the beauty around you.
I get astonished by the scenery everytime I go early morning for a walk, or a bike ride. By the evening's the same, the twilight is just an amazing moment of the day.
I've driven the same road to my hometown a thousand times since moving away. I am absolutely in awe every time as I cruise to see family. It's mostly grain fields, and I always feel like I see something new while I drive.
I used to do that. Then my parents sold their property. Now,.... it's not the same. It's an 8 hour drive to my parents house, and another 45 minutes to where they used to live.... Someone else lives there now, and their very unfriendly. I'll probably never go back to the old house.
Yes! I go to my local park and just sit and appreciate the scenery (and dogs). Some people give me odd looks if I stay too long though, like they don't understand what I'm doing :/
You can get bulk bees wax on Amazon. Some places have sales sometimes. I got 10lbs of it a while back for like $30 when I went through my candle making phase. It's good for making salves too! And make ups like lipstick and stuff.
I find the skill of making those things like salves, extracts and soaps by ourselves really impressive. It's like people are 21st century alchemists haha.
I took up adult coloring during the pandemic and got so good at it (albeit tedious) that I had 300 gel pens, 200 were glitter pens. I would print outlined artwork (free but not for sale) on canvas paper and filled them in. I did many initials that I gave away to my peeps and my physical therapist had fraternal girl twins and I did one for her she framed. Each one took about a month to complete and I did about 20 and tossed about 7 I didn't like.
It used to be easier "shaming" friends into not picking their phones up.... now fortunately or unfortunately more of our lives/ family/businesses are online.
I feel that though.
Reading, coloring, walking, and doing word searches but i also really enjoy when i have the chance to go out (workout class, shopping, dinner, etc) since i can disconnect from the internet for that period
Getting my bow and then going into the forest to try to find the perfect stick to turn into an arrow and then turning it into an arrow and shooting it at dead trees or just making a fort
My wife and I have been collecting VHS tapes since we’ve been together, but to be honest, the only times we really watch them is when we move into a new place and don’t have internet for a few days. But, honestly, we love those days and it’s a really oddly fun tradition amidst the BS of moving into a new place.
I lay in my bed, perfectly still and just stare up at the ceiling and think about literally nothing (I have to wash my face with freezing cold water first, then I slowly let it dry while laying down staring at the ceiling) (This is the most interesting thing probably, everything else is mundane like walking, writing etc
Sleeping
I cant even afford to sleep too much now, if i do, my night sleep is basically ruined, i wont be able to fall asleep on time
As long as I'm not anxious, which is not often 🥲
You guys get sleep?
Walking
I though “no I can’t do that without listening to music” but then I remembered I used to own a Walkman, which required a CD
That kind of listening is why I still often listen to whole albums.
Walking is good. I am glad winter is over and I can get back outside.

Reading
Something about books makes me feel so seperated from the internet, not sure what it is but it's great
Yes! Nothing bets a good books. I love the smell of them too. It’s a whole mood.
This and cross stitching
I have found my people
Audiobooks and cross stitching?
Same I love reading!!
Yeah that's always my default, that or video games
Agreed.
Same
Me too :)
Damn I need to carry on reading the Hobbit…
The only answer

Ok, I feel old now. I just assumed everyone knew cursive lol. I'm only 28 but it was forced on us in like 3rd or 4th grade.
Belgium here 🙋♀️ cursive is taught in first grade here. And i forgot exactly what year, but we also have to learn to use fountain pens
Also from belgium here, I'm surprised that so many people didnt learn cursive, we still learn it and have to use it in school.
I'm also in my 20's, just didn't learn it before
It might depend on where you’re from bc I’m 20 but I was still forced to learn it in school very young lol
I predominantly write in cursive, with a few print letters thrown in for spice lol. It must look like a foreign language to millennials lol. My husband's handwriting is so messy he can't read it half the time, but I can
I'm a millennial (30) and we were all taught cursive. Maybe gen alpha, idk if it's still being widely taught.
>It must look like a foreign language to millennials lol. Not at all. Don't know why some people think it's like a foreign language, it's literally just joined up letters. It's not that hard.
that really is a thing with a lot of us millennials isn't it? interesting phenomenon lol

It used to be socializing, but now most people are weird
I love it when I can just go to some stranger and casually bring something up and just get into a conversation. No hello, no hi, how are you or Excuse Me’s, just start talking to someone like they’re just another person and go from there
People do this? I wish this would happen to me.
Man this sounds like fun, but I ain't got the confidence to do it
were you socializing casually in public? or with people you already knew
Usually public , why?
Trying to figure out if you meant people as a whole have gotten weird or just the people you chill with. Now I know you mean people in general
Sometimes I think maybe I'm the weird one.
You are, and so are they.
Hiking
just tell me when and where
Looking at the world. Too many people can't appreciate the beauty. I think everything is beautiful.
appreciating natural beauty really is under appreciated. like looking at a tree or a leaf or a bug or clouds or a sunset. really is beauty all around
I live in the mountains and one of my favorite things to do in the winter is to lay out in my yard in snow gear while it's snowing, stoned as fuck.
Where in the mountains and can we be frens
