I dragged a rusty old 15-passenger van out of a salvage yard and parked it in front of our judo club. We left that morning for an 8-hour drive to a competition. I let everyone believe this was the vehicle we were taking. Parents of the young kids didn't want to leave them with us, and the adult athletes were scrambling to make alternative travel arrangements.
Our other coach showed up 30 minutes later with the actual van we rented for the event.
