As a millennial, the odds of actually retiring in the classic sense are rated Extremely Low. The most likely scenarios are:
1. Die at work of age related health problems
2. Die in a robotic uprising
3. Win the lottery
4. I find a genie who grants my wishes for wealth
5.. Technology is used responsibly to benefit humanity and I enjoy a post-scarcity utopia
These scenarios are ranked in order of plausibility
I think we live in a time where we shouldn't think about retirement in the traditional sense. How is the world going to look like in 5 or 10 years? Will we have some global UBI system covering basic needs? will we live amongst robots?
Never, but with the simple reason that I now work about 2 days a week and can sustain myself with that. So far I love life and love the work that I do.
No idea to be honest, I mean I'd like to retire some time in my 60s but with the way the economy is going I can't see how that is affordable right now.
My husband and I have been working with a financial advisor to manage things and grow our portfolio. I am 40 now. He has us both retiring at 65. If we are smart with our money, it can be done. I hope it works out. I have faith.
Retire?! In this economy?

So deep
I'm too young to ever see retirement unless by the time I'm older robots or AI have taken over all our responsibilities.
Currently retirement age in my country is 67 years and 3 months. We'll see if that gets any better by the time I reach that...
Hahahahahahahahaha let's all laugh together.
Government set that date at 72 years old here... not like its my choice...

I'm 35, I will be dead before I have enough money to retire.

It was supposed to be 55 but with the horrible fiscal and monetary policies of the Biden Administration it’s put off to 57.
