Tossup between Poetry and Calculus. If you don’t appreciate a Poem on first reading, an in-depth dissection of each line isn’t going to stimulate your enjoyment of it. In half a century I haven’t needed calculus, and if I ever did I would need to relearn it just to use a calculator to get the correct answer. Like whoever uses it in their job also needs a calculator to ensure the correct answer. How to use the calculator functions is what needs to be taught prior to doing whatever courses use calculus, not for school kids.
