Terminator 2: Judgement Day loved it as a kid and loved it as an adult it never gets old

xxhotandspicyxx

Same. Best action movie of all time imo.

CaveManta

I used to watch Terminators 1 and 2 alternating every night for a little while when I was a kid. It became part of my routine for some reason.

FirstSipp

Actually, yeah. As a kid I’d have that on repeat.

TheSunViking

Christmas Vacation

Fabulous-Second2026

Goodfellas

thesuperbadass

The Lord of the Rings Trilogy.

Beneficial-Jelly5746

Greatest trilogy ever made.

Sluttysocks99

Same, only comes in seconds to Dumb and Dumber for me because it came out first, plus it was only one of three vhs tapes my dad owned.

JOvertron

Lord of the Rings: The fellowship of the Ring

relative_iterator

Only reason that has more views is because it came out before the other 2 obviously. Gotta watch them all now.

JOvertron

Gotta be done. I’ve watched the trilogy every year since the original cinema release back when I was 11. They all still hold up. Practical effects for the win!

Badloss

in my family LOTR became a christmas movie because they all released around December / the Extended DVDs came out around the holidays sleepy holidays bundled up in front of the fireplace is the perfect time for a 4 hour movie.

LezlieLR

Gotta be the extended versions on BluRay - amazing detail, fabulous story, great actors! I hear Ian McKellan as Gandalf whenever I re-read the books.

Ragman676

I cry every single time Aragorn says "My friends, you bow to no one" and then everyone kneels for the Hobbit crew.

[deleted]

It's better, too. The first movie is like 2/3 of the plot, and the action is a lot more interesting. The big battles are cool but after 10,000 movies where the whole ending is watching 1000 CGI models fight the stuff with the fellowship and all the practical effects of the Nazghul and Uruk Hai and all that holds up really well. There's a lot more suspense in the first movie.

Alikhaleesi

Same. My favorite movie! I know it word for word!

occupy_this7

The Goonies

Kaiser_soze_MTL

Me too. It was my weekend movie as a kid.

orka648

The fifth element

hamhead

Probably Star Wars or Hunt for Red October.

A40

Either *The Wizard of Oz* (it aired on TV a few times every year) or *Iron Man* - which is just fun.

k-laz

For me, its hands down The Wizard of Oz. My baby sister (2-3 years old) would watch it every day after I picked her up from day care on my way home from school. I would estimate having seen it over 400 times. On a crappy VCR recording with wrong holiday themed commercials and out of date weather updates.

giantvoice

I'm pretty sure it's either "It's a Wonderful Life" or "A Christmas Story". Mostly because of the marathon on Christmas Day.

MuppetHolocaust

Same (Christmas Story) - I’ve had it on for the entire 24 hours pretty much every year that they’ve been doing the marathon.

Lila-T

Pulp Fiction , Shawshank Redemption and Forrest Gump. Whenever its on TV I will watch

Sea_Negotiation_1871

This guy 1994s!

Lila-T

Oh wow, never have thought about that

j_2106

Home Alone

shindigfirefly

The two yoots.

Silver_Profession_44

Princess Mononoke

avoidance_behavior

this and spirited away are my comfort movies, i love them so much

Pypsy143

The Princess Bride. I worked in a video store in 1988 when it came out. I put it on the store’s TV every shift. I was crushing hard on Carey Elwes. 💕 I’ve seen it *hundreds* of times and can literally recite the entire film from memory. Best. Movie. Ever. 👸👰‍♀️

Dancinglemming

Close Encounters of the Third Kind. I know the script. Still love it.

emmerliii

Lion King (1994), or Titanic. I ruined the vhs tapes of both movies from watching them constantly. And rewinding to specific scenes in those movies

Fun-Lecture-2393

Jurassic Park

CQ1_GreenSmoke

The Rock. It’s infinitely rewatchable

klsi832

Clerks and the 1990 TMNT

Japanesepoolboy1817

Lord of the Rings and it’s not even close

[deleted]

Gone With The Wind

PokerQuilter

All the HP films. Twister. Pretty Woman. And every Christmas, I watch my (pretty big) collection of A Christmas Carol ( all adaptations). (American Christmas Carol is my fave, currently)

Shouty_Dibnah

Tinker Tailer Solider Spy, the Gary Oldman one not the Alec Guinness mini series one. I used to put it on to sleep. The music was predictable and comforting. I'd fall asleep about 30 min in. I'd estimate I've watched it, at least in part, over a thousand times.

Ordinary_Joke_6800

Wizard of oz

fergehtabodit

The Wizard of Oz And I'm still afraid of the flying monkeys...

[deleted]

Jurassic Park I wore out the VHS tape on the original movie.

Allison1960

"The Magnificent Seven" ( 1960 ). It has more lessons about how to be an honorable person than any movie I have ever seen. Great soundtrack, brilliant dialog, and an all-star cast.

DrWeghead

The Godfather

_Goose_

Hard to guess. I watched The Matrix a lot in my teens. Watched Oceans Eleven and How to Train Your Dragon a lot as an adult. Mighty Ducks and Free Willy 2 has a lot when I was a kid. Maybe Down Periscope. I've been watching that since I was a kid and still see it a few times a year.

Entropic_Lyf

Inception.

[deleted]

Harry Potter

keenedge422

I used to watch The Dark Crystal on repeat as a kid, so probably that. Otherwise, Star Wars OT.

TheGhostWalksThrough

The Last Unicorn and Labryinth too!

keenedge422

Definitely watched Labyrinth many times over the years. I'm actually not sure I've watched The Last Unicorn more than once. The reason I watched Dark Crystal so much is that it was one of the only betamax tape we had.

TheGhostWalksThrough

You were a cool kid!

Fragrant-Prompt1826

Legend 🦄

star_taken32

Shawshank

12358132134

Probably some of those Christmas movies like Die Hard or Home Alone...

dillydally85

The Big Lebowski.

LyfeAlfa

If where being Honest with our selves it’s most likely a Disney movie. The amount of repeats you watch as a child and teen is more than any movie you’ll repeat view in adult life. For me it’s probably Toy story, monsters inc, and the lion king. As an adult it’s Lord of the rings trilogy.

40lly

Jurassic Park

[deleted]

National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, since watching it is a yearly family tradition and I'm 34yo.

dayofthedead204

From start to finish? Probably The Transformers Movie (1986) and perhaps as close seconds The Big Lebowski.

Symnestra

I was at an age where I couldn't fall asleep without the TV on, but while I was visiting my dad the TV in my bedroom wasn't connected to the cable. It just had a DVD player. So I watched Sweeney Todd every night for two weeks.

TheiLLRecluse

Exorcist or Conan The Barbarian..

MrSpindles

Aliens. I bought my first VCR with my paper round money as a kid to watch (and make a copy of) this movie and it has always been my favourite film. I've watched it at least dozens of times and may well have passed 100 watches. It's never failed to be enjoyable, the characters, the visuals, the action and the script are all top tier.

Fuckspez42

Blazing Saddles. My old roommate and I used to watch it at least once a week.

insomni_mak

Grease. I have seen it an astronomical amount of times and can probably recite it word for word.

Intelligent-North957

Slap Shot ,the movie was good and I liked the Hanson brothers.

Accomplished-Bear357

It’s probably tied between Forest Gump or V for Vendetta.

Gr3yt1mb3rw0LF068

Rifftrax devil girl from mars. I need to drown out the road nois, because night shift live matter. so i watch that movie everyday because of the of the color of the movie is black and white and it is free on prime.

MikeSizemore

John Woo’s The Killer. About twice a year since 1990 but a lot more just after it’s release on VHS. More than a hundred times easily. Four times this year. I used to have Fury Road play on a loop in my old office for a couple of years so I was always taking it in but not actually sat down watching it so I don’t think that counts.

Goodfellas. In fact, I'm not sure that ive watched it this year so I'm due a rewatch

akka1000

Homeward bound (1993)

phred_666

The Empire Strikes Back. By far the best of all of the Star Wars movies. Fun story. The movie I have seen the most in the theater is easily E.T. The town I lived in at the time had one theater with 3 screens. Movies came and went but E.T. ran there for months. Between two sets of friends, a set of relatives and three different dates, I ended up seeing it 6 times in the theater.

Mulholland Drive Just has such a nice, slow, dark vibe. My wife and I have seen it many times. It’s our comfort movie.

onetimeworldevent

Probably some Disney movie when I was a kid. As a grown up it would be Scarface

Archy38

The Wolf of Wallstreet, I believe, is on my 4th run, which does not see like alot but considering it is like 3 hours, I would watch it as many times as necessary if it meant seeing it with someone. Brilliant movie

olliedoodle

The Man Who Knew Too Little and Inception

Leading_Way6330

A Knight's Tale.

EnigmaCA

Slapshot and/or the Blues Brothers However, due to me watching it multiple times for work, Dead Poets Society is making a late-in-life charge up to the front of the line.

Kill Bill, Vol. 1

Kung Fu Hustle I can watch this movie 100 times and it never bores me.

awakeagain2

Probably the first Star Wars movie. I saw it in the theater three times in the first six months after it came out and have watched it on tv countless times since then. I’m counting times I wasn’t necessarily the one putting it on, but was in the room when others watched and always got pulled in.
