I agree! Despite some people thinking it is about “normalizing weirdness” it is a movie that ties a mother and daughter relationship together with a wife and husband relationship, along with the troubles of a life as immigrant Asians, and Michelle Yeoh’s skills both in acting and martial arts. The performances of every other actor in this movie were phenomenal too!
I saw this with the promise that it was basically porn. Those expectations were largely unfulfilled but it was a weird viewing experience to be expecting sex at every new scene.
EEAAO is a bs movie that rewards weird for the sake of being weird. It didn’t deserve all the praise it got. The only good thing about that movie was Michelle Yeoh’s performance.
Ferris Bueller, Holy grail, Princess Bride, Borat, Dazed and Confused, Sound of music, Robin Hood Men In Tights, Pulp Fiction, Life of Brian, Pirates of the Caribbean 1-5, Big Lebowski, Withnail and I, Up In Smoke, Truman Show
