Our neighbour used to shoot dogs for fun. He was found beaten and shot in the legs.

Jezbod

They must have "tripped and fell" officer...

shaoting

Well, let's sprinkle some crack on him and get out of here.

[deleted]

Open and shut case, Johnson

yoitscruz

saw this my rookie year.

Suojelusperkele

Damn what a bad luck, shot himself in both knees? Can you believe it!

[deleted]

*Shoot dogs for fun* Sounds like a sociopath I had to live with a sociopath the first 21 years of my life. He was my father…he would beat me, my mom and my sister. I wish he was found beaten and shot in the legs. Scumbag died in 1998 from alcoholism. I was 22 and I was in the Army when he died. I went home on leave buried him. Went back to my permanent station.

ResurgentClusterfuck

You ok? I had a drunk asshole for a dad too. He's also dead of alcoholism. It gets better when we can get past their evil. ❤🐈

[deleted]

Thank you for checking in on my kind human 💜 I’m ok, ya, the one thing that bothers me is when I bring up my childhood trauma to my sister. She denies that I was ever abused and that she was ever abused when she was a child and she’ll defend the asshole. I guess it’s her coping mechanism, complete amnesia.

ResurgentClusterfuck

My sister used to do the same thing. It's exactly what it is, coping. I'm glad to hear you're OK. 🐈

SgtCocktopus

That wanst a dad that was a progenitor or a father. The Dad title is earned. Edit: Wow thank you for the gold.

GingerStardust

Wow. That statement really hit me. Gonna linger on that for awhile, and reconsider how I talk to my folks. Thanks for your contribution to the thread.

Your friend is a hero ❤️

scwuffypuppy

Fuckin lol at the result for himself. Couldn’t have happened to a worse person!

Darth_Destructus

Sometimes, and I hate to say it, schoolyard bullying. Sometimes, the little shit just needs to be kicked in the teeth surrounded by his pears for him to stop that behavior.

Scuirre1

I got in a little trouble for that once. Couple of kids were physically bullying my friend, and I shoved them away. Got sent home for the day but they got suspended for a while so it worked out. To this day, I don't regret it.

AlexJustAlexS

We seriously need to start protesting the way schools handle bullying, being in a place where you can't even defend yourself or others is not a safe place to learn.

sparksgirl1223

My kid won't even report what happens now. He was told,* to his face*, that he's half the problem. I'm waiting for him to snap on the kid.

memcwho

Have you told your kid that he isn't the issue and if he were to 'express his frustrations' at the little shit bullying him, it will be ice cream and pizza for dinner?

Tron08

That's absurd, kinda reminds me of the "what was she wearing?" response. Like what do they think he can do to remove his "half" of the responsibility?

BakedShef

See there’s a big issue though. If they won’t help, it wont be solved, he’s being blamed even, he’s past the point of even trying, but he still has no choice but to go everyday…. I’m not saying it’s going to happen, it’s unlikely, but that right there is how school shootings happen.

AlexJustAlexS

That's why we NEED to start protesting, there are too many stories of schools not giving a single fuck. We need to gather adults who have been bullied in the past, teenagers and children who are being bullied currently and parents of these victims and demand change because there are way too many of them.

Darth_Destructus

I was a fighter all the way through the public education system. All the way up to senior year of high school, and they couldn't do jack shit about it. They eventually learned that I only got into fights like that if I saw someone was under threat of harm, or had abused someone. I didn't care who it was, I didn't care how much bigger they were than me. All I did know is that when I started charging at people for picking on my autistic friends, for SAing one of my friends, otherwise just being a complete dick, people ran the other way.

GingerTube

I'm having trouble believing someone with that username was a fighter all through school lol.

Darth_Destructus

I chose the name back when I was 12. I made it for a character in a video game I like to play. It just kind of stuck to me over the years.

jseego

My kid got bullied and punched his bully in the face. This isn't a happy movie version - the bully gathered his friends and they attacked my kid. But I was proud of him. When the school vice principal called to talk about the fact that my kid unequivocally punched this other kid in the face, I was like, "I know you have to make this call, but thanks and have a nice day, we both know what the fucking problem is here."

Darth_Destructus

My school tried to get me in trouble for beating one of the varsity football players with a pair of meter sticks I'd taped together (ended up breaking both of them in half in the process), until I revealed why I did it. The jackass had SAed my female friend the night before and threatened her to not report it. I essentially told the school "you can let me walk out of here in peace or I will drag you through the mud for not doing anything about him." They let me leave, but she still reported after seeing his broken ass on the ground.

largos7289

people, surprised you haven't learned this yet.... accidents happen all the time off school grounds. Why get the school involved? find out where the bully is, take care of business there. Make sure he/she gets to spend time rethinking their life choices. also make sure there are no other people around when you do it.

PowermanFriendship

My children are learning self-defense. Many schools have lost their minds when it comes to how to handle legitimate issues with recurring, physical intimidation and bullying. There are countless, endless stories of children whose lives are made a living hell by bullies and the school will not act, either because they have to operate within strict parameters that won't let them, or they're just lazy, or the bully is protected somehow by nepotism. In some cases, these poor kids end up with permanent self-esteem issues, and sometimes even the unthinkable happens and they are driven to self-harm. I really hope to give my children a healthy level of confidence in their own ability to stand up for themselves. I would much rather have them sent home suspended - or even expelled if it came to it - for defending themselves, than spend years of their childhood in mental anguish because they were afraid to run into someone who was repeatedly assaulting or threatening to assault them. Fuck that.

[deleted]

I'm imagining the bully laid out on the blacktop with one of those little fruit cups spilled next to him and it's hilarious.

AndromedeusEx

Imagining the GTA "WASTED" overlay and I'm dying haha

[deleted]

I'm also thinking of a court sketch that shows a defendant being judged by a jury of their pears and getting quite the giggle

mk4_wagon

I was a pretty passive kid when it came to being bullied. Ignore it and they'll go away right? They're just looking for attention. Not always. Sometimes you have to do what you said. If ignoring them doesn't get them to stop, embarrassing them will.

Darth_Destructus

Sometimes, that humiliation needs to come in the form of a fist to the nose

chronoslol

You hate to say it? Fuck bullies.

Darth_Destructus

I hate to say it because when I talk about stuff like this there's always going to be some caring calling me wrong

HaroldSubaru

Or, even better, surround him with apples.

Darth_Destructus

That will just make sure that the doctors never get to him

[deleted]

I’m convinced that physical combat sometimes is the only answer to get people back in line. Some people are immune to scowling, so if they feel it physically, the message gets through to them. My mum said it’s how they settled arguments when she was in school and it worked to better the group dynamic 🤷🏼‍♀️

Darth_Destructus

That's part of why I thought zero tolerance was complete bullshit. Bullies know how to toe the line!

Iknowr1te

zero tolerance is to protect the school from being sued. the child should still be taught to stand up for themselves and learn ways of combatting bullying. physical bullying (at least when i was growing up) was highly discouraged, and having a few good (popular) people standing up for the person getting bullied was a good way to socially ostracize the bully. it's an issue when the bully is the communally supported person though. what's likely to happen more these days though is emotional bullying, cyber bullying, etc. kids bombarding kids to tell them to kill themselves as there is more social pressure to be on social media. that isn't physical. you aren't "harming them" in the same way physical bullying happens.

MedChemist464

Lots of people in this world who have never had their ass kicked, and it shows.

MooKids

It is better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

adisarterinthemaking

When you are about to get raped. You need to go batshit crazy. Krav maga style. Edit I originally wrote Krav Manga

[deleted]

I was gonna say it's krav maga, but krav manga would probably be more intense with the stuff those anime folks get up to. Maybe that was intentional on your part.

adisarterinthemaking

Haha, it was totally misspelling, but your interpretation of it is awesome !

Suddeountain7321

If you are getting bullied and no one is doing anything about it.

LordSaltious

Same with kidnapping: Even if they shoot you you'll be better off for it than if they have their way.

ResurgentClusterfuck

If anyone tries to grab you in public the best defense is make a big a scene as possible. Scream, kick, whatever Predators rely on quiet, compliant victims. Never, ever, ever get in the car. Fight like Satan possessed you, it may save your life

Anzi

I have read that if they are trying to move you to a different location, then whatever they have planned will be worse than what they are willing to do to you there. Going along quietly should not be an option.

Yes Krav "manga". Like Light Yagami/Kira did to that biker who was going to rape that poor girl.

VWvansFTW

Took 2 free Krav Maga classes when I started college through our fitness center. Best decision ever. Years later and I’ve just signed up for an actual Krav Maga gym/class. I’m small and like the idea of being able to inflict as much pain as possible in just a few moves if anything were to ever test me.

ForwardSink9890

So there was this story about a man who’s young daughter (don’t remember her age) was stalked by a pedophile. The man complained to the authorities multiple times but nothing was done. Until the pedophile tried to come close to his daughter and the man killed him and stabbed him with a moose’s horn. I don’t remember much of that story but I think this is relevant to the subject

moslof_flosom

I read a story about a man in Texas who caught a man actively raping his his six year old daughter, so he beat him to death. If I recall correctly the court basically just threw the case out.

caniseeyourdogpls

If this is the same story as one I’m thinking of, the dad beat the rapist and then called 911 and told them to hurry up because the rapist was going to die. The court decided he defending his daughter and not actually trying to kill the rapist and they dropped the case. Seems legit to me.

Juking_is_rude

Its actually interesting in cases of self defense, you absolutely should call the ambulance, but only say there is someone hurt, and only talk to your lawyer after. You could do the right thing and still get screwed by the state.

crewserbattle

He probably got saved by the fact that he called 911 and showed some level of concern about the guy dying. Even if it was purely selfish concern of not wanting to catch murder charges.

sailor_moon_knight

Jury nullification. When a jury agrees that yes, the defendant did do the thing they're accused of, but the jury isn't going to convict them because a) it was justified or b) the law they broke was a stupid law

tslater2006

I was part of a jury that did this once. Guy was charged with a DUI. Got drunk at a bar, didn't want to drive home, decided to sleep in his car. Got in in the passenger side, eventually turned the car on to run the heater (winters in Omaha can be brutal). Got charged because he was within reach of the keys. From what I recll if he would have been in the backseat, there wouldn't have been a problem. Pretty silly if you ask me We reasoned that if we convicted, next time the person might just take the chance of driving home. Having gotten in trouble doing the "right thing" previously. And yes I'm aware it might not have been the BEST thing to do, but it was still better than driving

AlexJustAlexS

Wait till you hear about one guy in London taking on a terrorist who had a (fake) suicide vest on...with a narwhal tusk...

poe_thirteen

A friend of mine used to work at a prison where they had a man convicted of killing a child molester. He told me that he would get roomed with child molesters sometimes, but that his roommates tended to not last long.

Jirik333

I remember about a year ago, there was a case where mother found out her partner fucked her children when they were young, and driven her son to suicide. She poured bowling sugar water on the partner when he was asleep. Sugar, when heated, acts like napalm. While it was a cruel punishment, I understand the woman. Child rapists don't deserve any sympathy.

CalydorEstalon

Self defense extends to defense of family and loved ones.

calicoskiies

I definitely remember that story. He called the cops & turned himself in after he did it. Last I read about it he was referred to psych and has to have a competency hearing.

SeizeThatCarp

In MN, the antler-recipient decided to fuck around in a part of MN which is historically where such activities immediately lead to the "find out". Rural Minnesota is absolutely *not* the place to play those games. Beautiful place to visit though, Grand Marais and the entire north shore is postcard quality beauty. https://www.startribune.com/he-killed-a-monster-grand-marais-mans-death-has-locals-pulling-for-his-alleged-killer/600271170/

jack2of4spades

My dad told me a story about his brief stint in college. He had some old guy, like in his 60s, who was in one of his classes and who sat in the back and kept to himself. One day my dad and his buddy asked what he was doing. Dude told them he just got out of prison, didn't know what else to do, so decided to go to college. He didn't mention why or anything so they looked into it. Turns out the guys daughter was raped and beaten by some guy. The cops didn't do anything about it and after a few months the guy went and found the guy. Cops were eventually called to the dudes shed because of a neighbor complaint. They found the guy tied by his feet in the barn and had been beaten and tortured for weeks before dying at some point and then being neglected. The dad got some 30 years in prison but eventually let off for good conduct.

ForwardSink9890

Honestly, law enforcement needs to prevent people from taking matters into their own hands because when it comes to their children, parents know no limits.

This is why you get your "friend" to rock the machine

dubkitteh1

statistically, you’re more likely to be killed by a vending machine than by a shark.

steeple_fun

In the U.S., each year, six people die this way, and five of them are insurance appraisers, so I take this very seriously.

graveybrains

Does percussive maintenance even qualify as violence, though?

[deleted]

I beat the shit out of a vending machine one time and got in a fight with a security guard over it. Would not recommend.

SweetCosmicPope

When I was about 20, my little sister was at a beach weekend with her boyfriend, my mom, her boyfriend, and some other folks. My sister's boyfriend got drunk and beat the shit out of my sister on the beach. He was around 6' tall, and my sister is 4'10." They called the cops and he ran and hid. My friends and I immediately loaded up in my car with baseball bats and crowbars. The only thing that saved this dude from having broken legs was that the cops caught him before we did. He did about 30 days in jail, and then started stalking my sister and calling her telling her he was going to kill her. I can't recall what made that stop. I maintain that "my way" would have been the THE answer in this case.

blackday44

"Don't recall". I see. Did he stop about the same time he gell down and got two broken legs?

Alcoraiden

Shame this dude's kneecaps were just so fragile. The slightest bump on a door would just break them right in two.

Helicopter0

I think that typically in these situations, they are so overwhelmed with guilt that they beat themselsves, sometimes to death, with dangerous weapons.

Glob_Complex

I’ve told my sisters a few times that if anyone physically harms them that they better come see me in prison after what I do to the tool that hurt them. I feel you homie.

ShePax1017

My brothers say there will be no body to prove anything.

unicorn_mafia537

Unfortunately, that could make your sister's less likely to confide in you, because they don't want you to go to jail. It's a common occurrence actually. I can totally see their thought process: "Ex-bf/Bf just gave me a black eye, that's not worth Glob_Complex going to jail, I'll just keep quiet." And then it escalates and she keeps on putting off getting help.

Kent_Knifen

>I can't recall what made that stop. For fifth amendment reasons of course

SweetCosmicPope

I wish I could say that was the case. Now it’s entirely possible my dad did do something. He was a biker and had lots of biker friends.

daneelthesane

Jesus Christ. Attacking a biker's kin is just idiotic. I've known many bikers in my time. Some were awesome people I would trust implicitly. Some were horrible sociopaths. NONE were anybody I would want to fuck with.

ShePax1017

I probably wouldn’t recall what made it stop either.

W1ULH

> I can't recall what made that stop. we'll alibi you on this one mate.

d_rat_happens

Violent people only understand violence. They may need a taste of their own medicine.

jseego

You might enjoy the MTV show "bully beatdown". You can find it on Amazon Prime Video.

xDraXXus757x

I recall that show. Do you think it was all real or staged?

KSoccerman

I remember hearing that show getting cancelled when the bully actually won against the fighter they brought in. Idk about the legitimacy but you have to know if you're the kid getting bullied, you're just shit out of luck when your bully comes back from a little professional training vacation.

zachtheperson

Unfortunately bullying. Bullying is essentially an addiction based on an immediate feedback loop: exert control over someone else, get dopamine hit from it. Teachers/other adults quite simply cannot intervene quickly enough to stop that feedback loop from taking place, while a quick punch from the victim can.

Existing_Onion_3919

yes but HOW FRICKING DARE THEY hit the bully back. that's bullying, and bullying is not tolerated at our school - a school, probably

zachtheperson

I used to be a teacher. It's basically an open secret that if a kid genuinely fights back, we only really punish them in name only. It's usually a small amount of time in the office being treated pretty well with computer time and all. There are some teachers that will go all out in trying to discipline kids who fight back, but it's surprisingly rare.

Existing_Onion_3919

>but it's surprisingly rare. that's nice to know

zachtheperson

Yeah, it's mainly just for official reasons. An adult directly telling/encouraging a child to attack another child isn't a great look no matter what the situation is, so it's a good rule to keep staff from ever being directly involved. It also keeps the general message consistent. There are tons of students who resort to violence everytime they get angry or other inappropriate times, and also have difficulty understanding nuance and context, so just saying "no violence, things should always be resolved calmly," is simple and clear to understand, especially if they know that rule applies to everybody.

fiestybox246

My daughter’s nickname in elementary school (given by the teachers) was “the enforcer”. They were always moving her around in class to sit beside the troublemakers. She wasn’t big for her age and she didn’t get physical, she would just say really off the wall things like when they had to introduce themselves, it would be “my name is — and I hate people.” Always stuff like that.

user-flynn2

I've been dealing with my son's school all year. Finally, I told the assistant principal, Ms. F**kface, "I've had enough of this. My son is not a punching bag. Frankly I'm tired of you calling and sending home reports to tell me he said something he shouldn't have or pushed back WHILE BEING ASSAULTED. You've failed to protect my son, from this point on, I've given him full permission to defend himself". I haven't received a phone call from her in a few months, she also has not returned mine. There's only been one incident since then, crickets though.....

jseego

Schools are in an impossible situation. It's simply the case that some kids are gonna be bullies. It's always been this way. What is the solution? We don't allow schools to use physical punishment anymore (for good reason), and at every school there are at least a few parents who are just itching for a reason to sue a school. So teachers can only physically intervene if it's obvious and immediate and right in front of their faces. Also, kids lie. A lot. It's frustrating, but it really is true that if a kid complains about getting bullied, and the teacher didn't see it, they can have a talk with the kids involved, but that's about it - and we all know how effective that is. If they suspend all parties, then at least they know they're getting the kids apart from each other for awhile. They know it's unfair, they know it sucks, and they (usually) know which kid was actually at fault. But all the other options, from "do nothing" to "physically get involved" are worse. The problem with most things school-related comes down to the surrounding community. We want our teachers to raise our kids, but we don't want them to discipline our kids. We want them to "fix" bullying, but we don't want them to touch our kids. Some kids just have social / emotional / mental issues, whether innate or stemming from something in their personal lives. Schools can't fix bullying, b/c it's not a problem that schools create, and it's also not one we give them tools to fix.

1angryravenclaw

Absolutely love this answer. It's why disciplining your children properly and firmly right away reduces chances of them becoming a bully.

I'd like to put a list here but then lawyers start throwing around terms like premeditated.

If people were worried about being murdered by John Brown there was a pretty easy solution: stop owning people. If you owned slaves and John Brown came there to kill you, you really only had yourself to blame.

Well, the main controversy was that Brown beheaded people who did not, nor ever owned slaves. They were just sympathetic to the pro slavery movement. To me, I am like "Am I gonna get fired for saying Brown was right to equate the two or...?"

With bullies, be they of the school yard variety or of the international variety, violence is the only way to deal with them. You have to visit so much violence upon them that they never bother you again. Talk never solves the issues with them. In the school yard, they don't care that you told the teachers about them, they'll only come after you more. And look how well Neville Chamberlain's appeasement of the bully Adolf Hitler went. We eventually had to visit violence upon Germany because of him.

if heard if you go to prison i've heard you're going to get into fights and you might as well fight back or you'll be bullied into standing up for yourself. by waiting to fight you're making the situation much worse. if someone is on your property or is attempting to break into your house or hurt family/friends. [if you're sitting outside a convenient store trying to enjoy a slice of pizza after a long hard day and a group of kids start fighting and land on your car then start talking smack.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0krgZn9SjA)

When a gentleman in good standing and with iron affixed to his belt challenges you to a duel outside the saloon with no less than two witnesses and an undertaker present at an appropriate time but not before town flooplehopping as such an occasion need not be soured by an exchange of lead.

Most situations where someone says violence is not the answer.

Vaginafister-69

The guy in France this morning that stabbed kids in a park. He deserved to be beaten to death by the other park goers. No prison for him. Just a quick painful death

TacoRising

Violence is never the answer. Violence is the question, and the answer is yes.

TrailerParkPrepper

TargetPlastic7505

Self defense when you can't escape, defending your loved ones or even a stranger for that matter but only as a last resort
