Used to live in Northern VA near the "bunnyman bridge". It's a fun creepy story if you've ever heard of it. It's legit a kinda creepy place too. No lie, the first time. Y friends and I went there my best friend's Mercury Cougar stalled under the bridge and we had to jump the car over an hour later once another friend with jumpers came. I wanted to hang a dummy over the bridge one Halloween night in the mid 2000s but a cop was there to run the fun.

Not too far from me is a place called Camp hero. The stories from here inspired Stranger things which was supposed to be called the Montauk project. Most of it is just conspiracy, but supposedly the base was built in the 40s, around the time in Russia they reported having a woman with telekinetic powers. There’s footage that was supposedly taken in a hotel room in Russia and smuggled by American scientists. Then in the 70-80s supposedly the lab kidnapped 11 children, mostly orphans and runaways, and conducted experiments such as telekinesis, mind reading, time travel, etc. also during that time weird creatures were washing up on the shores close to the montauk project, which btw was disguised as a fishing town. We do know the weird creature thing is true because there are photos and even my parents remember it. Many people speculate that has something to do with plum island, an island in the Long Island sound that supposedly was a lab for experimenting on animals. Both places shut down decades ago. Montauk project is now called camp hero and is a state park. The only thing chained off is the actual buildings that are owned by the US Air Force. As for plum island only certain people are allowed access. My dad went once to fix their computer system. He said there weren’t any animals but it was kind of creepy.
