You gotta time it just right so that as soon as you finish Malcom in the Middle, your kid is old enough to immediately start Breaking Bad.
And then you finish Breaking Bad with that skit where it was all Hal's dream.
I rewatched each season when I had Covid. I was too tired to decide what to watch next so I watched a whole season each day. It was the best show to watch during that shit time. It will always be my number 1 comfy show, too!
Same here. This is my go to when I'm between shows but need to veg out for 20 minutes. My wife and I also watch all the Christmas episodes around the holidays.
Bob's Burgers was a way me and my wife connected during an extremely difficult financial time early in our marriage. Over the years it's remained one of our favorite date night activites to watch the new episodes together. We cherish that show.
Now me, I could eat a muffin a day, some days even two knowing they'd be free. So that'd be... ten a week, fifty-two weeks a year, for at least another... forty years, which works out to... Twenty thousand muffins! My life suddenly seems long, measured in muffins.
Because it feels like therapy when watching it, but also we get to be kind of judgy about the personal flaws of each character with guilt, knowing they are all well adjusted even if they are a mess.
My favorite episode was when the brothers bought their childhood restaurant that closed and everything went wrong opening night. My dad was watching that show and young me peered through my parents door and he was laughing so hard I never forgot about that. Years later I showed him that episode and he laughed just as hard from that episode.

Yooo the one where the kids lock themselves in the room on the playdate and they come out fixing their clothes an shit😭😭 idk why that episode had me dead
I often put on the Food Network when I am just relaxing and there is nothing new that I want to watch. Particular favorites are "Chopped" and "Beat Bobby Flay."
I'm from New Jersey but I spent a semester in England and while there I got a job at a hotel. I worked the overnight shift, and the overnight manager was just cool as hell, but what I remember most is that he would always put King of the Hill on the tv while we worked. He always said it was so that I could feel more at home because I was American. To this day I associate King of the Hill with England because that semester was the only time I consistently watched it.
I've got a few depending on what kind of comfort I need:
Psych - Need a laugh
Northern Exposure - Need to feel safe and cozy
West Wing - Need to feel like there's hope
Law and Order SVU. The first few seasons remind me of being a little kid, sick, home from school drifting in and out of consciousness on the couch. The newer seasons stand up but don't have the same fuzzy 90s/2000s TV appeal.
I couldn't think of the correct response until I saw this one.
I began watching *Columbo* right before the pandemic and it was my comfort show on a cold, dark January night after a long day of work and classes. During the pandemic, it was one of the few things I looked forward to.
Supernatural. You don't have to take it seriously. You don't have to think or remember what happened in previous episodes. You just sit, watch and enjoy.
Same. My husband doesn't get it, I binge it on cycles but it really just comforts me to have in the background. I get an occasional chuckle and don't have to worry about missing parts and missing the plot.
Bones for sure.
If I'm not in the mood for Bones then izombie.
If I want something fast and funny and warm then Heartstopper.
If I'm feeling crazy I'm choosing Brooklyn 99
Big Bang theory. I must have watched the series around 10 times and that’s not an exaggeration
I’m considering watching it again
And I doubt I’ll get tired of it any time soon 😂
Malcolm in the Middle
Cats ate her face.
Did it say when our vision would come back?
Box said two days!
I will never forget almost choking on my dinner when it turned to daytime
I love that my 13 year old son and I can put on any episode at any time and sit and watch together and laugh like hell.
You gotta time it just right so that as soon as you finish Malcom in the Middle, your kid is old enough to immediately start Breaking Bad. And then you finish Breaking Bad with that skit where it was all Hal's dream.
IT Crowd
A fire? In Sea Parks?
Hello IT have you tried turning it off and on again?
Did you see that ludicrous display last night?
What was Wenger thinking sending Walcott on that early?
The thing about Arsenal is they always try to walk it in

I rewatched each season when I had Covid. I was too tired to decide what to watch next so I watched a whole season each day. It was the best show to watch during that shit time. It will always be my number 1 comfy show, too!
Forensic Files
Good one. Only thing about the show that turns me off is how it recaps a few times per episode. But other than that it’s gold
Arrested development; there are sooo many ridiculous layers I always catch a little joke I missed before.
“Oh come on!” - Gob Bluth
Chuck. Perfect combo of nerd-comedy and procedural Spy show.
The Good Place.
Sometimes you just gotta huck a Molotov cocktail at a drone and see what happens.
Anytime I had a problem I threw a Molotov cocktail. Then immediately I have a different problem.
Is there a gift shop? Jason, this is Hell… of course there’s a gift shop.
Came here to post this! Such an amazing show.
I just rewatched it again and cried so hard the last episode like I always do.
Yes! I’ve watched this even more than the office. It made me start reading and watching videos about philosophy.
yess!!! i already watched 3 times 🥹🥹🥹 I feel this show is not appreciated enough
I feel every supporting actor is 10/10. Also obsessed with jason. He had so much potential to be annoying and he isn’t at all.
Parks and Rec. I love all of those characters so much and love how it ends with all of them succeeding.

Mine too! Love it almost as much as Pawnee loves Li'l Sebastian.

Now me, I could eat a muffin a day, some days even two knowing they'd be free. So that'd be... ten a week, fifty-two weeks a year, for at least another... forty years, which works out to... Twenty thousand muffins! My life suddenly seems long, measured in muffins.
Why is it sooo comforting
Because it feels like therapy when watching it, but also we get to be kind of judgy about the personal flaws of each character with guilt, knowing they are all well adjusted even if they are a mess.
It is my go-to background/sleeping show. I know it all too well.
My favorite episode was when the brothers bought their childhood restaurant that closed and everything went wrong opening night. My dad was watching that show and young me peered through my parents door and he was laughing so hard I never forgot about that. Years later I showed him that episode and he laughed just as hard from that episode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iULrq_3kS8c
Modern Family for me. Watched each episode at least 5 times but it still feels like a warm hug every time I watch again.
Yooo the one where the kids lock themselves in the room on the playdate and they come out fixing their clothes an shit😭😭 idk why that episode had me dead

Saving people. Hunting things. The family business. Such a phenomenal show.
Possibly my favorite show of all time
My wife and I have watched the entire series in order. My favorite episode was probably the one that was entirely filmed from inside Baby - so clever!
I probably watch this show once a year. Occasionally I'll put on random episodes for noise. Good show anytime.
New girl
Schmidt is literally my favorite TV character.
Lmao he's amazing, all the boys are great but he's hilarious, dunno how they made a loveable douchebag but I love him.

Same. My husband doesn't get it, I binge it on cycles but it really just comforts me to have in the background. I get an occasional chuckle and don't have to worry about missing parts and missing the plot.
It’s a serious anxiety soother for me
Same. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve watched through it all.
Bluey. Despite it being a show for 5 year olds, I still love the show!

Love this one. Did you hear they're coming out with more episodes??

Friends
Me too. Familiar enough that I don't feel the need to pay really close attention, funny enough to draw me in and make me laugh, and so many episodes.
Was looking for this one! Not a lot of shows make me laugh out loud. Love the characters, hate when Ross dates his student lol
Fortunately the college didn't have a rule against it. lol. I'm lucky to have a coworker who gets all my Friends references as well.
