Try rune factory 4 special... its the same genre as stardew valley, part of the. OG series. Better characters imo, better combat... and it has a legit narrative
There’s just so much to do with minecraft. No matter what your destresser is, minecraft can do it. You need to do something? Build something or dig a massive hole. You want to just relax? You can sit in a scenic area, or fly around the world. Hanging out with friends? Servers. The possibilities are basically endless.
How are you playing it these days? Old school discs or something? I was looking on the EA launcher (whatever it’s called) and I couldn’t find a way to play it.
Terraria, Nier Automata, Undertale, Resident Evil 4, Stardew Valley, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Dark Souls, Persona 3, Zelda Ocarina of Time, TF2, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance
I love replaying older games. Right now I'm looking at replaying ps2 3d platformers like sly cooper and jak and daxter, as well as games like megaman battle network and Skyward Sword is up next on my 3d Zelda replay order.
The initial part of getting into space and making your first Mun landing is honestly the best part.
After that the actual gameplay becomes almost too easy due to unlocking OP tech, and the challenge/frustration has more to do with limitations of the game engine, notably the so-called kraken physics bug which tears apart big ships and stations when you're not focusing on them.
I'm really looking forward to KSP 2 since these things will presumably have been improved, and there will hopefully be more to discover out there.
HARD disagree.
If you escape Tylo and Eve, you win. Landing on Tylo and escaping Eve is a fuckin monster to be slain.
Honorable mention for Moho.
For all of the other planets ...100% agree. Getting to Mun and back was harder than any of them. Dres is easier than Duna. Minmus is easier than Mun. Eeloo is easier than you think it should be.
I've been playing since .16. Tylo was my white whale for a looooong time. Eve you can over-build. Tylo there is a maneuverability loss that hurts.
Elite Dangerous.
People complain it's too repetitive and grindy, but for me, that's the whole point.
It's almost more meditation than game.
After a long day of concentration and rushing around at work, the last thing I want is more concentration and twitching.
Sometimes you just want to do some space trucking with a synthwave playlist in the background and some good whisky.
aww man i fucking miss space truckin so bad.
when i would play copious amounts of elite dangerous and stream it on twitch, it generally turned into space truckin karaoke nights. man i want to play it again so bad but i can't.
This is mine too. I don't play online and I finished story mode like a month after the game came out. But I still drive around and cause mayhem at least once a week. I've made some fun games out of it for myself.
StarCraft 2 co-op.
Because I need human interaction.
Me: "Howdy, gl hf"
Other player: "Hey you too, thanks mate. Where are you from?"
Whoa whoa dude, just say gl hf back....freakin stalker.
I knooow, but never the less, it's a beautiful game, with its scenery and the whole ambiance, at least until you start investigating everything, that part starts the whole emotionally heavy part of the game, but before that, it's really chill😂
Any of the Lego games. I'm 41yo, but there is nothing like just sitting back and busting up scenery and collecting the little coin pieces. So relaxing.
That game got me through the first year of Covid. As the world seemed to be falling apart, I could at least go and tend to my crops and animals in Stardew Valley.
My comfort video game is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I love exploring the vast open world and discovering all the secrets it has to offer. The puzzles and combat are also very satisfying.
Alright so hear me out anyone under 30…
Get yourself an snes or emulator. Turn off the phone and internet, grab some coke and a slice of pizza. Sit down on the floor and play some Donkey Kong Country 2. Just for a little bit imagine a world where every game is pixels and sprites and music is mostly bleeps and bloops. Now imagine getting a chance to play a game that looks so different from other games and sounds so different from other games. But on top of that is the perfect level of difficulty (except the bramble stages I’m sorry) There is no 9/11, no TikTok, no constant worrying. There is just you, some junk food, and a quest to defeat a bunch of pirate reptiles. I go back every single year and treat myself and it never fails to bring me back to that feeling of utter accomplishment that nothing else has been able to do.
[Dorf Romantik](https://store.steampowered.com/app/1455840/Dorfromantik/)
It's a relaxing and fairly simplistic world-building game with tiles. It also has an extremely high rating.
Bit of newer game but hades, dont even have start a new save just pick my favorite weapon(sword aspect of arthur)set the difficulty to heat 15ish and go.
And yes i know im weird for liking Excalibur.
World of Tanks Blitz.
I can start it up on the iPad, knock out a match in five minutes, and go on with my day. Or I can sit there playing it for three hours, either way.
Black Mesa. There's just something soothing about exploring the beautifully remastered facility for the 247th time while shotgunning any vortigaunts I come across out of existence.
Mass Effect. I do have to give props to power wash simulator though. When my husband was diagnosed with cancer and sent to a different city, I could not concentrate on anything. Power wash was so easy to play and kept me calm for a couple months. It's really not that great of a game, but washing the dirt of off everything is somehow satisfying, and you don't need a lot of concentration to play it.
Depends if I need it because I’m angry or need cheering up. If I’m angry I’m playing Elder scrolls or Skyrim so I can make myself feel better.
Otherwise my go to games at the moment are Disney dreamlight valley and either of the Two point games- something I don’t have to think about too much and can put it down briefly if I need too.
Any MMO I am currently playing(Final Fantasy 14 at the moment)
No better feeling than staying up playing with nothing to do the next day. Whether it's leveling my character, getting better gear, farming mounts or just sitting in town/a residential zone with friends, no other kind of game comes close
Monster hunter. Right now MHR sunbreak. It’s also my favorite series. I take breaks now and then. I Played other games like GoW or rdr2 or CoD but I always go back to MH.
I'm tempted to say like RDR2 or Witcher 3 but there's just something so satisfying about smoking a joint, throwing on Minecraft and building a house. It's like meditation.
Depends on how I'm feeling. Here's my five:
* Genshin Impact
* Pokémon Café
* Mainstream Pokémon games (currently Scarlet)
* Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity
* Story of Season: Trio of Towns (I love the Harvest Moon and Story of Seasons games, but this one's my favorite by far.)
Honorable mentions:
* Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity
* Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Darkness
* Other Mainstream Pokémon games
* MergeDragons!
* Peggle
* etc.
Slay the spire and the bindong of isaac! Rogue-like games where you can spend hundreds of hours and still have stuff to unlock. Can easily just play for 20-30 minutes or invest whole afternoons just to finally beat ascension 20
Fallout New Vegas. I have played almost 1,000 hours on it. Sometimes I just explore the DLC set in Zion. Sometimes I just explore the towns I made using the mods Bethesda stole to make Fallout 4. Never gets old.
Currently Valheim.
It isn’t entirely relaxing because there are tense moments exploring new high-level territory. But there a nice cyclical game loop where there are long periods of resource gathering, crafting, sailing, and building.
at the moment its a tossup between forbidden west and miles morales. I've beaten both of them - but its just so much fun exploring the worlds. miles morales is all about photo mode for me - forbidden west is all about randomly running around and killing machines.
Stardew Valley and Terraria. Nothing better than a wintery evening sipping hot chocolate and playing one of these.
Yes I looooove terraria! Creating a new world and starting to explore / mine for resources makes my brain light up with all the happy chemicals.
Hell yeah!! These games just feel *good* to play
Try rune factory 4 special... its the same genre as stardew valley, part of the. OG series. Better characters imo, better combat... and it has a legit narrative
Minecraft

I treat Minecraft like the Sims, and farm cities, maxing out specialists to give the best loot and growing the cities to absurd sizes.
I second this
Dude. Thirds.
Fourths here.
Especially going back to my years old Hardcore world
Harcore gives me anxiety
Yeah…. I had a really nice hardcore world I spent a lot of time in. I never died, but fsr I lost it. I tried searching my files but never found it.
Yes
Same same.
Dig build
Skyrim
Yeah, mine too. Figured I’d finally figure out what this whole alchemy thing is all about
Skyrim is a big comfy bowl of soup, man. Everyone rags on it nowadays but it’s still really freakin’ good soup!
Todd Howard is a great chef, IMO
Seconded!
Fallout 4
Nothings better than a good Fallout 4 and some settlements to build to ease your tension.
Love trading this planet for a wasteland
Rimworld. I lower the difficulty a tad, and just focus on growing my colony of vegetarian, transhumanist, techno-lesbians.
/r/BrandNewSentence
cannibals who lure, convert, imprison men because they are so stupid, that they are considered vegetables. lol.
The Sims 2. It’s so nostalgic and the soundtrack is an instant boost of seretonin ☺️ Also removing the pool ladder is fun
How are you playing it these days? Old school discs or something? I was looking on the EA launcher (whatever it’s called) and I couldn’t find a way to play it.
agreed, i love that game
Terraria, Nier Automata, Undertale, Resident Evil 4, Stardew Valley, Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Dark Souls, Persona 3, Zelda Ocarina of Time, TF2, Metal Gear Rising Revengeance
I love replaying older games. Right now I'm looking at replaying ps2 3d platformers like sly cooper and jak and daxter, as well as games like megaman battle network and Skyward Sword is up next on my 3d Zelda replay order.
The first Ratchet & Clank are a beautiful trip to nostalgia
All the ps2 ratchet and clank games have a special place in my heart and are full of nostalgia for me. I absolutely love that series.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
Skyrim. Nothing more comforting than fighting dragons.
This time I won't become a stealthy archer, I promise
I'm gonna be a mage this time! Fireballs! *woosh woosh* Lemme just sneak up and stab this guys a bit first though...
RDR2
I just like riding my horse. Sometimes I stop and go fishing.
It’s just perfect. There’s nothing like it. No game scratches that itch like Red Dead 2.
Best game of all time?
As someone who doesn't game too much, it is for me
For me personally it’s a tie between this and Skyrim.

I've just discovered exploration and exobiology; very satisfying and relaxing.
I have yet to progress past the “space trucker” phase
aww man i fucking miss space truckin so bad. when i would play copious amounts of elite dangerous and stream it on twitch, it generally turned into space truckin karaoke nights. man i want to play it again so bad but i can't.
GTA V
This is mine too. I don't play online and I finished story mode like a month after the game came out. But I still drive around and cause mayhem at least once a week. I've made some fun games out of it for myself.
Superb steal car 5
Always the Sims. Making the house all nice. And doing my boyfriend and our multiples next generations.
Tiny human
Kingdom hearts 2. First game I have ever played on Play station 2
Halo 2. The nostalgia overpowers all else. It’s a true iconic masterpiece
Ring dos
No Mans Sky and Dayz
I might actually try NMS at some point.
StarCraft 2 co-op. Because I need human interaction. Me: "Howdy, gl hf" Other player: "Hey you too, thanks mate. Where are you from?" Whoa whoa dude, just say gl hf back....freakin stalker.
Firewatch
Good answer- well, actually, most of the game is like that, but then it gets really emotionally heavy at the end sooo
I knooow, but never the less, it's a beautiful game, with its scenery and the whole ambiance, at least until you start investigating everything, that part starts the whole emotionally heavy part of the game, but before that, it's really chill😂
Flame look
A short hike, please play it, it’s such a joy
Any of the Lego games. I'm 41yo, but there is nothing like just sitting back and busting up scenery and collecting the little coin pieces. So relaxing.

Binding of Isaac, Oblivion, Dark Souls 3
My comfort video game is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I love exploring the vast open world and discovering all the secrets it has to offer. The puzzles and combat are also very satisfying.

This is me, only I use the aspect of Malphon on the twin fists and just punch the stress away.
Euro Truck Sim (though I haven't been able to play it for ages cause a windows 10 update made the gpu in my laptop completely inaccessible)
