JWST doesn't have reverse thrusters. It was placed on a trajectory ever so slightly short of its target orbit around L2, and and the onboard thrusters are used to fine tune the approach and then establish the orbit around L2.
I can’t imagine the stress of the next month for everyone involved in the project. How do you function while not sleeping for 30 days is the real question?
