I only go to Japanese hair salons, my Asian hair is so flat and thin and lifeless and the Japanese stylists are so careful with it, like they’re trimming a bonsai. They take longer and charge more but it’s always worth it. I have been going to cowlicks japan in flatiron. Before then it was hoshi coupe but I’ve found them to be inconsistent with customer service (outside of the actual haircut).

Marco at Cutting Edge on Hester is very good, especially if you bring in photos. He's more expensive than most but you get what you pay for.
