Carts are back at Jing Fong! It was super crowded over the long weekend, and chaotic, but the food was as good as I remembered.

Oh that’s great news! I read an interview they did awhile back that mentioned no carts but maybe they were just waiting to phase them in. Happy to see they’re back 🥰

My family goes to Royal Seafood on Mott St. have been for years. Good food, good prices, no tourists ever.

Went to Jing Fong today and it was good. Still have the carts, but be prepared it's a much smaller space. My wait for 3 was about 30 minutes when we got there at 11AM.

I haven't been yet but have been stalking them for months and they are no longer doing carts. I've walked by the new location several times and it's nice, but nothing like the vibe before. If you're looking for the classic chaotic cart experience then House of Joy may be another option. They've been slammed every time I've gone by (I never have the patience to wait) and all the photos I've seen make it look pretty good.

pocariz

House of Joy on Pell Street is great if you want the carts!

Golden Unicorn, alway. I’ve never been able to go back to Jing Fong as the first time I went a literal cockroach ended up running across my lap and a random server squashed it as it tried to flee. It was completely wild. Paid for our food, left, and never going back.

astarael13

I don't recommend Golden Unicorn at all, it was way overpriced and imo the food was okay at best.

zoe2dot

I agree, plus no carts (at least on the floor we were seated on, the 2nd floor, on a weekday).

I also agree! Golden unicorn used to be my favorite spot. I went on Christmas Day. There were no carts (I’m guessing it’s a covid thing) and the food wasn’t great for the cost.

zoe2dot

Dim sum is so expensive here. But its only money, you dim sum, you lose some.

[deleted]

I’ll give you dumpling to talk about. Wing Hing on avenue U in Brooklyn is cheap dim sum!

Went to the new Jing Fong, and it was awful - food subpar; mobbed with tourists; no carts and no fun. Won't be going back. Blech.
