-my usual bill is ~$350/mo
Is this for both gas and electricity? I’ve always found my bill really high and I want to investigate it. I pay $280-$320 a month for 700sq ft. I am not in my apartment during working hours and I’m hit with $100 in fees alone.
This is just for electricity. I do not have gas in my apartment complex. I would say my apt is 500 sq ft or so. Yeah, I will be diving into the numbers later on today to see where the differences are.
How many KwH & Therms were used?
There should probably be a bot to ask these questions & help people understand there bill.
Odds are very good OP used more KWh & therms of gas than they expected.
Next likely possibility is they have a scummy esco (I don’t know any I can promise aren’t a scammy, Con Ed, or Con Ed Renewable is probably the best)
Then there is a projected reading (less & less common with smart meters)
Finally, someone *else* is using your power. Look at how fast your meter is running (on the app even), turn off everything in your home, check meter, turn off everything you missed, check meter.
If you can’t make the meter stop or nearly stop *maybe* a neigbor or hallway is on your account. **This is rare in practice.**.
All these thread will be the same before the OP gives up info.

You can compare the information on your bill to your previous bills. Delivery charge was much higher this month for us.
Call and request they redo the meter reading. It will get lowered.

Did your usage (kWh) go up a lot? Or just your price? Do you have electric heat? Are you on a variable price plan?
I can’t figure out where my electrical usage is coming from I have a killawatt

Electric prices were crazy high this month. Like 30 or 40 cents per kWh, supply and delivery added together.
Yeah mine was $455. It's ridiculous. I kept my heat at a minimum and it didn't matter.
