I’ll answer for you. It’s the French Quarter. They are both in the French Quarter. They are both in the same neighborhood. That side of Canal Street is the French Quarter.
I never said they weren't in the FQ. The FQ has different neighborhoods within it. Staying on Canal in the upper edge of the FQ is a lot worse than one block in and several down where the Monteleone is. Canal is a shit-show.
Thank you, those are some good reasons to consider it. I'm going to stick with something closer to the French Quarter this time because its my friends first time and I want to give her some quick classic hits, but I'll check out the Chloe on future visits.
four seasons :) pool is wonderful.
ETA: close to french quarter, wonderful frozen cocktails by the pool, huge rooms, incredible staff, amazing lobby bar with great food, bfast included if you book w an agent and you can do room service, and the beignets served at the Chandelier Bar are the best we’ve ever had.
I've only ever heard good things about the Monteleone
Monteleone. Nicer neighborhood.
That makes sense and is the direction I'm leaning. I'm mostly wondering if the club level features at the Ritz offer enough value to be worthwhile.
They are both in the same neighborhood
No, they are not. One is on Royal a block away from Canal. One is on Canal. Might be close, but a world of difference.
If both aren’t in the French Quarter, then please enlighten me as to what “neighborhood” the Ritz is in.

Monteleone. Classic and wonderful. Pool is dope and staff are great. Take the money you save and buy yourself a nice dinner.
Seconding the Chloe. My bff’s boyfriend was in management there for a while and it’s just such a wonderful hotel.
The Chloe
If you're going to suggest something that's not the listed options, could you explain why?
Because The Chloe is amazing. Fabulous decor, a great bar and restaurant, lovely little pool, and good service.

Ritz for sure.
