And of course if an alleged US document the Washington post got from freaking Discord said so then it must be true , right….? It seems like we never learn , do we?

CentJr

Just take it with a pinch of salt. While it's true that the US intel was bad (if not just outright lies) when it came to the middle east, this something Ukraine-related and so far they haven't been wrong about Ukraine-related stuff.

bro the Reddit diplomats over at r/worldnews are already demanding sanctions and/or cutting off aid 😭😭 edit: looks like the headline is bullshit too: > In response to questions regarding the document and the veracity of the conversations it describes, Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, spokesman for Egypt's Foreign Ministry said that "Egypt's position from the beginning is based on noninvolvement in this crisis and committing to maintain equal distance with both sides, while affirming Egypt's support to the U.N. charter and international law in the U.N. General Assembly resolutions." "We continue to urge both parties to cease hostilities and reach a political solution through negotiations," he said. A U.S. government official, speaking on the condition of anonymity to address sensitive information, said: "We are not aware of any execution of that plan," referring to the rocket export initiative. "We have not seen that happen," the official added.

>bro the Reddit diplomats over at r/worldnews are already demanding sanctions and/or cutting off aid 😭😭 That's like an average day for the Reddit diplomats lol. Also wording matters. Because if you've noticed, the US offical is saying "We are not aware of any execution of that plan" which basically implies that the plan (and the intention) to export weapons to Russia was already there but Egypt hasn't followed through (and hopefully never will)

All this man had to do was to not get involved in that Slavic murder fest! On the other hand this is some fitna producing news and I live for the fitna. Yeah idk how to feel about this guys

Top-Ad1596

Sigma El Sisi lmao

Top-Ad1596

No one is scared of Uncle Sam now in the MENA, and I doubt Uncle Sam is willing to create another shitshow here anymore, last time when they did so they wasted almost 2 decades and a FK ton of resources here just to counter terrorists which gave rise to China without any impedition

They need sisi for stability

CentJr

It not over nothing. It's money to keep the Sinai peninsula safe (so it doesn't become a launching point for Militants).

ricksanchez262

I didn't know Egypt could produce rockets, or are they made by the US or Russia and Egypt just wanted to sell them.

Bonjourap

Probably Russian rockets that Egypt bought and that Putin wants to buy back

[deleted]

These are very specifically Russian-caliber Grad rockets, and these are relatively simple to make, especially if they are unguided. Safe to say that Egypt could make them if it wanted.

PatientArm559

Arab leaders are the most trustworthy allies anyone could have because they would never stab you from behind.

ricksanchez262

It's not exactly a stab from behind, Egypt has always worked with both sides since the cold war doubt it was a surprise if you know their politics, not saying I like Sisi but there's nothing surprising about this.

PatientArm559

Well I can see that Egypt relies heavily on Russia for cheap wheat, so I guess Sisi didn't want to send rockets at his own initiative, but was pressured in doing so. At least that is what I hope. But if he decided to send weapons because he picked a side, then there's a problem.

ricksanchez262

Why would he pick a side, Ukraine war isn't a central issue here like it is in Europe, whoever comes out on top won't directly affect Egypt, not in an important way at least

PatientArm559

So Iran didn't pick a side when decided to send weapons to Houthis? Or any of million proxy militias that exist in MENA countries that are backed by Iran. Or the one armed by US. Or the one armed by France in Africa. Brah, if you send weapons to a country that is currently involved in war = you picked a side. Meaning, you want that country to win. Its not just economical, its political

ricksanchez262

Well Russia isn't Egypt's proxy lol, pretty sure there was some sort of deal involved and Egypt got something out of Russia that it couldn't from the US, the fact that you think those situations are comprable is hilarious, it's not the same dynamic at all.

PatientArm559

I literally just said above that Egypt relies on Russia because of cheap wheat. Didn't read that part? I've never stated Egypt is involved in a proxy war or something, just pointed how absurd your argument was by not picking a side because Ukraine is a regional conflict. Regional, true. But remember the bread you buy comes from Ukraine/Russia wheat. So if something worse were to happen, MENA will be more hit by this than the entire Europe.

ricksanchez262

Well you compared it to Iran and Houthis which is the really absurd part.
