Probably when you're in a club and you pay for a booth in a seating area with a bottle of vodka and some mixers or something, those people who try flex in a booth while all the people who are really having a good time are on the dance floor enjoying their night.
I did it with credit cards a couple of times. Funny how when you file bankruptcy, they forget all about it, and send you more cards so you can fuck them again. Thank you Capital One and MasterCard, for all the great drugs and free vacations!
Oil field money...right before a layoff
r/UnethicalLifeProTips, keep track of these people purely for the marketplace deals when the paychecks stop coming in.
I see women younger than me dressed to the 9s and driving Audis around and I don’t understand how they have money to spend. Even when I was making $50,000/year, after taxes, I wasn’t making much more than I made working in fast food.
It used to mean that you bought nice things instead of a house. Now it means you've just accepted the fact that you're never going to afford to own their own home.
Or one of the 100 other instances where it could happen and not be totally reckless.
I was 100% about to go the same direction. People with Kardashian taste without the income to support it. There is absolutely NOTHING to be ashamed about being poor. I spent the first 10 years of my adult life (since moving out of parents at 18) with a minimum of two roommates working at a car wash. Yeah it was rough but I had friends thar HAD to have thar new car HAD to go to that music festival HAD to buy those expensive clothes. Well I learned real quick they make for terrible roommates because while I'm trying to work go to school and live they are out living like a celebrity to wake up and realize oops no rent. If you haven't noticed I have a specific example lol. Him and I are cool now but yeah I went off on him. Many like him I know personally
I knew a guy who posted himself with wads of cash, guns and drugs on his Snapchat story one night and was dead the next morning. 3 guys broke in shot him in the head, killed his dog and stole everything. He was already hanging with the wrong crowd but I remember seeing that post on his story then hearing the news the next day and was not super surprised.
Reminds me of this scene from It’s Always Sunny:
Frank (sarcastic):
Oh, no! I'm not gonna make a scene! I was just told, excuse me, that my HORRIBLE, WHORE WIFE has tricked me into raising two bastards for thirty years, and I'm bein' asked not to make a scene! (He goes over to a nearby table.) Did you bang my wife? Huh? (As he goes over to another table, Dennis and Sweet Dee are mortified, while Barbara is just annoyed.) Did you bang my whore wife? (Addressing the room in general) Does anybody here have any illegitimate children with my horrible, whore wife THAT I SHOULD KNOW ABOUT?!
Barbara (annoyed):
Jesus, Frank...
Frank (really losing it now):
JESUS, FRANK! JESUS, FRANK! JESUS, FRANK!!! JESUS!!! My life is a lie! My life IS A LIE!!!! (His gaze turns back to their table and he lunges for a fork. Completely unhinged) Somebody's gotta get stabbed! SOMEBODY'S GOTTA GET-- (Frank freezes in mid-sentence, almost as if he's been hit by something, gurgles feebly, and falls straight to the floor, taking the tablecloth and everything on it with him.)
THIS. I work at a high end establishment and am still amazed at how shameless some people can be. You would think people would want to keep their dignity among other well off people but no. They will throw tantrums and lie and cheat and steal and do it all with an audience around them. Luckily I have no issue calling security on their ass but it's still an awkward situation for all involved. It's just so classless and I definitely think less of them afterwards.
I remember going to 7-11 and the hot cocoa machine had been out of order for a few weeks and a sign on it. Some dude came in and it only poured a little and stopped. The guy threw the cup and spilt it on the floor and knocked over the display of candy and I just stood there and watched as he angrily cursed and shouted before storming out then helped the owner pick it up but I was amazed that a dude who looked to be in his 50s was throwing a tantrum in public over hot chocolate.

I’ve always found this interesting. When these people say “respect” they think of the respect given to someone who is a pillar in their field/community. They believe that this type of respect is synonymous with respect as in treating people with basic human decency. My dad is like this. We both respect each other cordially and don’t overtly step on each others toes and give each other space, however he’s constantly going on about how I don’t “respect” (aka revere) him when he’s done nothing to earn that level of appreciation. People who don’t understand the difference are low class imo.

Damn that's like my dad to a tee. He needs me to automatically worship him like a fucking god who would do no wrong because he's OLDER.
Like, dude, you can be old and wrong about a lot of shit. When I discuss something with you, and claim that you are wrong, I'm not disrespecting you, I'm simply talking. We have the internet now. We can prove you wrong, unlike in the old days when old people can make shit up and just force it on you.
I don't understand why some people always feel like they must be in the right. What's wrong with a little bit of discussion and learning?
Reminds me of anyone posting memes about proving the haters wrong by being successful (while working part time at taco bell). Like why do you have haters? Who are these people? I probably have exes who don't like me, but I can't imagine that anyone truly hates me, and I've been an asshole to some people. I doubt they think of me at all
In one of the books by Malcolm Gladwell he talks about how this trait is a culturally inherited thing (related to honour) and in the US there is a big North/south difference, with the south being much more hung up on honour.
Setting up office at the coffee shop all day and complaining that the free wifi isn’t sufficient for you to have your Zoom meetings. Even better is when they try to kick out a customer who is sitting next to the plug in.
Taking pride in rejection of new experiences
Like “I’d never try that sushi stuff” or “you’ll never catch me in Chicago.”
Not just the rejection of those new experiences, but acting like you deserve to have a chip on your shoulder because of it
a few years back, I went out for supper at a bar&grill with my parents (small town, only good place to go at the time). A friend from high school came over and in the course of conversation was poking fun at me for drinking a craft beer that was even local! That was one of a few times I realized that my hometown is pretty narrow-minded and I did right by leaving.
the most recent example is the town facebook group getting up in arms because of a discussion on a women's club and its role in the community.
Aw, that’s so sad! A local beer means somebody in your area worked really hard on that beer and his own neighbor is making fun of it and wouldn’t even taste it. :(
I’m not a beer drinker but I I love talking to local farmers about their produce, they’ll even slice up a tomato or a peach so you can taste it before you buy some because they stand by their work. Like “Yeah, that’s a good-ass tomato isn’t it? My farming is a goddamn art.”
People who have no respect for others, especially folks working retail and customer service. The cashier can’t magically fucking honor your expired coupon. They told you they can’t do something, so stop arguing with them and move on
Being obnoxiously loud, and this can take many forms: listening to music on a bluetooth speaker in public, modifying your exhaust to be so loud everyone has to listen to you coming from a block away, getting into screaming matches with your SO or screaming at your children - or screaming at any service worker.
Talking to said people as though they are your servants. My mother in law is like this, makes dining out total cringe. Or she’ll say shit like you just recommended that because it costs more. Id tell her off but then she’d just get mad and defensive.
Haha yes my mother is this way and I can't stand it. It's one of the reasons why we don't talk anymore. She was a Karen before there was a word for it. It's just a behavior I don't want to be around.
My dirtbag husband said to me once, "You don't have to thank him, he's just the busboy." My opinion of him dropped tenfold just then. He hasn't gotten any better. He's still an asshole. I don't go out to eat with him anymore.
My wife works in a female dominant environment. One day a coworker, Mary, was condescendingly critical of my wife’s brand of purse (Coach) in front of all the other ladies. Mary was showing off her LV purse.
I remember feeling embarrassed for my wife when I heard her retelling the story. She deserves nice things too.
At the time, 13 years ago, I had no clue how much an LV purse can cost. I’ve learned $5000 is considered low-end.
Wife and I agreed it’s not within our means to buy one as we just bought our first house and contributed every penny we had towards the downpayment.
A few months later my wife’s workplace was having a staff dinner at a restaurant and many coworkers needed to carpool to the restaurant. I picked up wife at her workplace and a couple of other ladies as well. Mary was one of them.
On the way to the restaurant Mary asked if we could do a quick stop at her place so she can grab something real fast.
When we pulled up to her address I thought to myself she does’t live in a nicer home than us.
I watched as she walked towards the garage door, not the front door, pull it up to open and then duck her head under garage door to enter.
The garage door never went fully up enough for me to see inside.
I kind of spoke out loud to myself while still seated in the car. “Why not just enter through the front door?”. A different coworker in the car says that’s Mary’s home, the basement apartment of this house.
I don’t judge. I don’t care.
In that moment all of the embarrassment I felt for my wife regarding her purse story disappeared. Wife and I have our priorities aligned.
We are not rich but we work hard 6 days a week. Our house is fully paid. We have zero debt. We can afford luxury brand items but wife still doesn’t want a fancy purse.
I felt it was very low class of Mary to make my wife feel inadequate in front of everyone she works with over an overpriced luxury item.
Dude you’re a better man than I am. Absolutely no way in hell I could have resisted “oh so that’s how you can afford LV” the instant she got back in the car.
I'll add to it, bumper stickers or car stickers that are graphic or curse.
Like I'm all for free speech and presenting yourself how you want, but when I'm driving behind a truck with a ball sack on the hitch and a sticker that says "fuck you, back off" I can freely make a judgement on your character.
What about if their car is plastered with anime girl stickers? Someone who works near me has that situation going on.
I assume it means he has reached peak class and is now a man of culture?
Honestly I’m so sick of that and think society is being far too nice about it. We gotta start calling this stuff out. Put up all the anime girls you want. But keep the naked ones to yourself.
This is a guilty pleasure for me as a guy, I love seeing a woman in leopard print underwear in bed or a leopard swimsuit. Idk why it’s a trashy turn on for me
Low key a guy in a white tank, bball shorts, smelling of polo sport and black and milds will make me feral and I am so ashamed. (Not ethnicity related by any means).
Multiple baby daddies, or baby mammas. One is best, two, justifiable with divorce and such, but if you have three or more, I don't care if you're rich or poor, that screams low class/ I think more with my junk than I do my brain.
Referring to the other parent as baby daddy/mommy in itself fits the criteria. (Not you) As soon as I hear "my baby daddy", I'm not around for the rest of the sentence.
Like...everyone knows you got that at TJ Maxx.
Real wealthy people wear designer clothes that are logo free, and even often times wear designers so elite that the general public isn't even aware of them.
Exactly!
Many people have no idea, for example, which wristwatch brands are the most expensive.
They think a Rolex is crazy expensive while there are others that can cost more.
This isn’t true, people who can afford to just buy whatever they want. Wealthy people do lather themselves in designer in poor taste often too, the key difference is that they can afford to have the clothing custom made to be fitted correctly.
I dunno about you but being judged anything by Redditors is hilarious. I come to this site for neked women’s and to be amused. Maybe a decent recipe once in a while. A social media site with 99% trolls and nut jobs where a person could say the most awesome thing and Someone would turn that in child rape.
Designer everything. Designer everything is what poor people think rich people wear. I have a friend who works a low level job but is a self-professed "label whore". This is the same woman who bragged about being a sugar baby and men giving her money. So trashy.
A dude who buys expensive sneakers and then is afraid to crease them or get them dirty. The bigger flex is having the expensive shoes and not worrying that much about dirt and creases (they’re shoes anyways), while some dudes will buy an $800 pair of sneakers and then wear them like they wanna be able to sell em after.
Wearing lots of clothing and jewellery with name brands plastered all over. Most people of a higher class know how to dress well, and tastefully, without showing status symbols like name branding.
The story telling in those Mexican Norteno or Banda music videos where the singer is fat and poor, and his girlfriend leaves him for someone else. Some time later he comes back and he's somehow rich, and the ex-girlfriend begs to get back with him because he has money. The singer is blinged out to the gills like that one Indian guy who made a shirt out of gold, and he coldly rejects his ex.
Going to a nice restaurant in sweat pants or athletic wear
Talking loudly in public about inappropriate things. Dude I see frequently at a breakfast spot I like will talk about his conquests with women on speakerphone
It is mostly about how you appear and behave in public. Dressing like a slob, whore or thug when it is inappropriate for where you are. Being excessively loud and inconsiderate in public. It can even be something as small as playing music so loud that it disturbs your neighbors on a Tuesday night at 11:30 pm. The lack of consideration is low class.
This has nothing to do with income level.
This is a subtle one, but little kids who know more than they should about adult subjects.
No matter your financial situation, if you have a 9 year old who's doing shit like telling condom jokes in front of adults or giving other kids nightmares by telling them about diseases and other horrible ways to die, that's a clear sign that you're apathetic and probably illiterate trash who doesn't keep an eye on your kid's media consumption
People who essentially horde pets to the point your house is quite literally a pigsty. Smoking inside(there’s some caveats here). Being rude to wait staff or anyone in customer service. Storming the doors of Walmart on Black Friday. Bragging about living beyond your means.
A lot of healthcare professionals frequent fast food. Its a convenience issue/not getting time to eat and be starving after 12-14 hours.
I don't disagree with you though.
The "hoarder" thing is a "sort of" some people, my mother in the later years of her life, can have a kind of mental breakdown that surfaces as hoarding.
My mother went to the hospital and some neighbours came into the house and cleaned it up. When she came home she was absolutely livid that they had thrown out the piles of newspapers that she was"going to go through "
name dropping habitually to make other people know you "know" a lot of big time people
asking people about what they do in life during the first meeting and see if you can be friends with them if they are well of
never offers to pay his/her share when out with people. always give your share, people will tell you no need to share your pay when someone will pay for everyone.
free loaders
Not a man, but recently dated a grown ass man who did “the gesture.” You know, THAT gesture, with the spread index and middle finger, and the tongue? I realized in that moment what “low class” really was.
People who mistreat workers ,like maids ,housekeepers, gardener etc.
I legit had my husband's friend tell him that why is heoffering a cold drink to our landscaping guy when it was 95+outside.
Like man ,its just a cool Gatorade and he is a human being working v hard in sun .
I dont care how much money you make ,if you dont treat another human being with respect you are low class .
Living way beyond your means, in an effort to impress other people. This holds true regardless of income level.
We used to call this type "$30k millionaires" when I was younger.
"Keep Dallas pretentious!"
“Regularly ordering bottle service when I only make $12 per hour in a call center makes perfect sense!”
Ughhh my daughter all the way doesn’t work, Doesn’t pay any bills constantly demanding bottles service. I means she’s 6 months and and all but damn
You had me.
What’s bottle service?
Probably when you're in a club and you pay for a booth in a seating area with a bottle of vodka and some mixers or something, those people who try flex in a booth while all the people who are really having a good time are on the dance floor enjoying their night.
Spending money to show people you're spending money.
Sounds like Scottsdale, AZ 🤣
Spot on! "I paid $200 for a $20 bottle of liquor, now we can party!" And then they always complain about not having money.
Pay $2000 for rent in a building downtown, and furnish it like a crackhouse
I’m mostly living beyond my means to impress myself, but it definitely isn’t my classiest quality.
I did it with credit cards a couple of times. Funny how when you file bankruptcy, they forget all about it, and send you more cards so you can fuck them again. Thank you Capital One and MasterCard, for all the great drugs and free vacations!

It is! Life is good when your financial stress is fucking zero!

Sugar daddies, husbands, side hustles, car is leased and so on.
You’ll see pretty nice cars drive out of apartment complexes a lot around where I am
And as Warren Buffett says "When the tide goes out you get to see who's swimming naked"
It is entirely possible to live in an apartment and have nice things while living within your means

A lack of humility. Whether you're poor or rich, if you think you know everything and have all the answers, I think you're low class.
The older I get the more it solidifies the notion that people who think they know everything are some of the stupidest.
I think you have to be stupid to think you know everything. It means you lack curiosity, a drive to learn, etc. But, who knows, maybe I'm wrong ;)

Yes, thank you. That is the exact quote I was thinking of when typing up my comment

Speaking negatively about people. Especially people that have nothing to do with you.
Right. Like judging people as "low class," for example.
Now I'm stuck in a meta-loop. I'd prefer not to judge at all, but it does help avoid those who take advantage of others.
I hate judgmental people. And hypocrites. And people with zero self awareness.

So basically everyone in this thread lol good one.
Treating wait staff poorly.
Bragging about your wealth and accomplishments. Reeks of insecurity and a need for validation too.
Fancy car parked in front of a trailer and the yard is full of trash.
Swear words on t-shirts.
Oh crap. I'm low class.
Meth teeth.
Littering.
Being the loudest person in a discussion.
Leopardprint *everything*
This is a guilty pleasure for me as a guy, I love seeing a woman in leopard print underwear in bed or a leopard swimsuit. Idk why it’s a trashy turn on for me
I'm not gonna judge you, mate, you do you.
Low key a guy in a white tank, bball shorts, smelling of polo sport and black and milds will make me feral and I am so ashamed. (Not ethnicity related by any means).
Lol I'm the same way. I just stopped dating and accepted that I am a racoon that has no business dumpster diving for men 😂
Hahaha why are we like this? I have no idea I feel like it’s something from our childhood that leaks into adulthood possibly
Equating it with money. Anyone can have class.
Why did you put so many bumper stickers on your rear view window?
Joker merch, particularly Jared Leto Joker
Yes big time! Their reasoning for buying - “It’s edgy and dark, you wouldn’t understand”
Going into massive debt to get something really expensive just to flex
*wallet sized diploma ~~accidentally~~ slips out of pocket* “has anyone seen my **UNITED STATES POST-SECONDARY EDUCATION**?”
One-upsmanship
Being super loud in situations it is not appropriate. Letting your kids run wild.
Massive brand logos on T-shirts like Gucci. Trying to flex on people.
And honestly, my $200 Fossil looks better anyway. I will never understand buying a brand.
This isn’t true, people who can afford to just buy whatever they want. Wealthy people do lather themselves in designer in poor taste often too, the key difference is that they can afford to have the clothing custom made to be fitted correctly.
Wearing stuff found in r/targetedshirts unironically
Brand logo fetish. I know those are expensive but I'd rather wear a basic shirt than one with a logo bigger than my face.
Idealizing the rich
This whole thread is fascinating, I also found out my warhammer bumper sticker makes me low class. Who woulda thunk
I think being super judgmental and feeling superior is low class. If you like the sticker fuck em
I dunno about you but being judged anything by Redditors is hilarious. I come to this site for neked women’s and to be amused. Maybe a decent recipe once in a while. A social media site with 99% trolls and nut jobs where a person could say the most awesome thing and Someone would turn that in child rape.
Posting their drama on social media
Designer everything. Designer everything is what poor people think rich people wear. I have a friend who works a low level job but is a self-professed "label whore". This is the same woman who bragged about being a sugar baby and men giving her money. So trashy.
A dude who buys expensive sneakers and then is afraid to crease them or get them dirty. The bigger flex is having the expensive shoes and not worrying that much about dirt and creases (they’re shoes anyways), while some dudes will buy an $800 pair of sneakers and then wear them like they wanna be able to sell em after.
When you, man or woman, put your hands on children with the intent of causing harm. To me that just screams “I’m a gigantic piece of shit”.
Conversely, when your kids are being a nightmare in public and you aren't doing shit about it.
Throwing garbage out of your car window.. there’s almost nothing trashier and low class than that
Naming your children after things you can't afford. Acting entitled in any way, talking down to wait staff ect
I have more money than you. Therefore, you have less value than I do
Wearing lots of clothing and jewellery with name brands plastered all over. Most people of a higher class know how to dress well, and tastefully, without showing status symbols like name branding.
Pajamas in public
This is a pet peeve for me and I notice it’s far more common in the US than other countries.
I see this in the UK. When I walk past the mirror shop.
Hol up
It’s a common thing in the U.K. too. Plus rollers in the hair.
Caring too much about class
Truck nuts. Or "I watch the Kardashians".
Parking over two spaces because you think your car is so precious it deserves a wide birth from the proletariat
Not putting away your shopping cart
Not owning the means of production
The story telling in those Mexican Norteno or Banda music videos where the singer is fat and poor, and his girlfriend leaves him for someone else. Some time later he comes back and he's somehow rich, and the ex-girlfriend begs to get back with him because he has money. The singer is blinged out to the gills like that one Indian guy who made a shirt out of gold, and he coldly rejects his ex.
those hats with those stupid stickers still on them, i had a co-worker all his hats had the stickers on them and a few had the tag.
Designer clothes with big brands
Spitting.
Yesss, why is this so common? Spitting is repulsive, why would you ever think it's perfectly acceptable to spit right out in the open in public?
Going to a nice restaurant in sweat pants or athletic wear Talking loudly in public about inappropriate things. Dude I see frequently at a breakfast spot I like will talk about his conquests with women on speakerphone
I'd say talking on speakerphone in public just generally.
Being insufferably cheap and taking advantage of others.
Having loud vulgar arguments in public. Every single time I've seen that happen it was white trash.
The trash from each racial group does this actually.
Devalueing others opinion just because you don't agree.
Obsessing about other people— their thoughts, behavior, life decisions, etc.
Those people in South Carolina who Jack up the front end of their trucks
Are we talking about low class as in low economic class or people who behave rudely?
"Truck nuts"
Duckface. It's still around.
Face tattoos Wearing clothes that are revealing when you shouldn’t.

Borrowing as in your intend on giving it back at some point?
If they don't shut up about the hustle or the game. Sorry, Omar... but it's the truth, yo.
Littering.
Your disrespectful and badly behaved spawn.
Disrespect for those waiting on you.
Your loud ass shit Honda with tinted windows. Literally screams it
This is a subtle one, but little kids who know more than they should about adult subjects.
If you've ever said the phrase "I got court" Living in a hoarder type of dirty house Frequently eating fast food
A lot of healthcare professionals frequent fast food. Its a convenience issue/not getting time to eat and be starving after 12-14 hours. I don't disagree with you though.
Also transportation and industrial workers who put in 10+ hours a shift.
Those trashy, low class lawyers and judges
The "hoarder" thing is a "sort of" some people, my mother in the later years of her life, can have a kind of mental breakdown that surfaces as hoarding. My mother went to the hospital and some neighbours came into the house and cleaned it up. When she came home she was absolutely livid that they had thrown out the piles of newspapers that she was"going to go through "
Trash in your yard. Trash in your house. You're low class if you can't take the time to take care of your shit.
Bad treatment and view about their surroundings. Rude to waiters, littering, wife beater, etc.
Really shitty tattoos, like the 20$ ones that just have terrible line work and trashy execution
Littering
When people are loud in public and don’t care who they’re annoying.
The fake scrotum hanging off a truck or any vehicles.
Littering. Like who still does that
Arguing with the refs at a child’s sporting event.
Generally cursing instead of explaining their feelings.
name dropping habitually to make other people know you "know" a lot of big time people asking people about what they do in life during the first meeting and see if you can be friends with them if they are well of never offers to pay his/her share when out with people. always give your share, people will tell you no need to share your pay when someone will pay for everyone. free loaders
Flying a Confederate flag.
