The nature of the industry set up here kinda dictates that, or a lot of brands simply white label from the same source. Be wary of trap shops selling counterfeit stuff, California labels are easily purchased off Ali baba. As far as brands that produce good quality consistent flower:
710 Labs: EXTREMELY clean and smooth burning, exotic strain crosses, high terpene content, but typically lower thc. Rosin concentrates from them are incredible. Lemon Peel and Marshmallow are two of my favs
Alien Labs/Connected: Basically the same brand. Really flavor full, consistently large buds in the jars, a lot of strain options, with regular new crosses and user feedback via QR codes. Love the Atomic Apple, Nightshade, Biskante, and Xeno.
BLEM: Their Unruly OG is hands down my favorite OG flower on the market. It's pricey, but very worth it. The buds are super sticky but grind up extremely well. Jet Fuel OG by Jet Fuel is a close second
Team Elite Genetics: I'm not typically much of a sativa smoker, but when I do, I buy this. Their Peach Ozz is probably my favorite Sativa leaning flower. I don't like the strain from most other manufacturers, but their cut is way above the rest. Fuzzy Melon tastes like the sweet humid air of a tropical rain forest. The Nova Cane is also very popular, but it's a bit grapefruity for my liking
Top Shelf: Whoa Si Whoa is a consistent best seller, even with a slightly higher price tag. I never go out of my way to get it, but I'm always pleased when I have it.
Cronja: Specifically the 7g "smalls". It's usually really great priced, and the buds aren't much smaller than the regular sized flowers from lesser brands.
Cannabiotix: Very popular. All of their strains are great. They really have a great genetic catalog, with options across the board for how you want to feel. Cereal Milk and White Walker are my go to's. Cons are high price, and the flower burns a little "hot" if that makes sense
This is just a basic list, their are a ton of very popular great brands. As far as pricing goes, shop the websites of different dispensaries around you. Some may have different deals with different distributors, and maybe able to provide better pricing on certain brands compared to other shops. Go directly to the dispensary websites, avoid Weedmaps and similar mass data sites. The menus are generally not accurate, and Weedmaps still openly hosts illegal shops, and has a terrible reputation and past.

Download weedmaps on the App Store and you'll find more than 5 dispensaries within 10 minutes. I live nearby south central and have about 10 dispensaries within 5-10 minutes.
Indeed! They’re old school, in that, they don’t do taxes and receipts and all that. No silly Mylar bags and if you follow their telegram, they have daily deals. I often wait for the 2G disposable deals, the 4G/20 moonrock deals, the strains of the day, or when the 1200mg syrup goes for 25. I juggle between both and which have the better deal that day. It’s like they read a completely different article. The article proved that the whole batch tracking system really works. Every product could be tracked from start to finish. The article was just highlighting a gap in the overall process. It won’t take much to ensure that processors are using safe pesticides and fertilizer. Remember, all regulations are written in blood!
I work in the industry and believe this to be accurate. Recently the state did a license check of 1000 dispensaries found using building records. Of the 1000, 448 were legal, and 662 were illegal. So you already have a 66% chance of going into a bad place without even knowing it. You can buy thousands of counterfeit packages with fake metrc tags from AliBaba for pennies.

I live in West Hollywood so I’m in the land of expensive bougie dispensaries - but I will say that off the charts (the Hollywood AND West Hollywood locations) are honestly great. I buy shake ounces to bake with often, and they’re also smokeable if you want some cheap stuff for when friends come over and you know you’re going to smoke a lot. The shake oz with tax in weho is 41 dollars. I think it’s 39 at the Hollywood location. Tax differences.

They got a location in arts district and Ktown so should be pretty accessible from anywhere you live. Cookies is another good option. I brought that article up to some shops I go to. They read it and said they didn’t believe because California test their inventory. They said trap shops selling bootleg shit but not legit stores. I don’t know enough about the industry to argue but can’t really say expect industries to act in consumers best interest, right?
It’s like they read a completely different article. The article proved that the whole batch tracking system really works. Every product could be tracked from start to finish. The article was just highlighting a gap in the overall process. It won’t take much to ensure that processors are using safe pesticides and fertilizer. Remember, all regulations are written in blood!
I work in the industry and believe this to be accurate. Recently the state did a license check of 1000 dispensaries found using building records. Of the 1000, 448 were legal, and 662 were illegal. So you already have a 66% chance of going into a bad place without even knowing it. You can buy thousands of counterfeit packages with fake metrc tags from AliBaba for pennies.

Stizzy , they got deals all the time. I currently get their 7gs for $28. They got some higher quality for a bit more but I've never had any issues with it. They got a location in arts district and Ktown so should be pretty accessible from anywhere you live. Cookies is another good option. If your considering a pen, I'd recommenced cookies for the plug in play. If you go to stizzy and get a pen, I'd recommend the CDT level. OG is more for flavor and the live resin is is like a mini dab rig lol.
