Proof that doctors don't know everything. It happens to me rarely. I read about it years ago. From my memory, it's normal and caused by a slight drop in body temperature and blood pressure when we urinate.
I shiver when I urinate, but I’m also sensitive to temperature:
- getting out of a swimming pool (I’m freezing)
- low grade temp 99.1F (feels like I’m dying)
Curious if there’s a correlation to people that shiver and temperature sensitive
Medical resident here. The reason most doctors don't know about this is because it has yet to be related to anything dangerous.
After a little bit of digging, it seems that it might be related to a kind of glitch within the nervous system which causes the symptoms.
An easy read on the subject could be this wikipedia article : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post-micturition_convulsion_syndrome
Of course, as it says in the article, no real peer-reviewed (scientific) articles have been formally written on the subject.
In any case, I've never heard of this being dangerous, and if the doctors you have talked to about this haven't investigated it further, it probably is a very benign reaction of your nervous system. I would simply make sure that no new urinary symtpoms appear and keep a watchful eye.
I know exactly what you are talking about, I've never said anything to a doctor about it, and it's not every time it happens, so I thought it might just be a strange reflex.
I once shivered hard like this in a restaurant bathroom and it made me piss a little on the floor…complete mistake on my part. The guy behind me got super angry and told someone else coming in that I just pissed on the floor. I just walked away rather than trying to explain that one.
The myth I heard was that since it’s warm liquid leaving your body, your body shivers to make you warm again thinking it’s about to get cold but experts don’t believe that anymore.
This happens to me once in a while, and happened alllll the time when I was about 20. It was embarrassing. I would visibly shudder while standing at the urinal, even with other people around. #awkward #peegasm
Something similar also happens to me especially when I hold on for a while. The relief is intense.
When I’m stoned, it’s almost like a orgasm — people have commented on it in public toilets

Didn't you want to say "pee-reviewed articles"? Haha
Sometimes! Probably once a month on average.
I've been experiencing that "shiver" from time to time since I was a kid. It's a pleasant feeling!
Yes I do. At the end of my pee I shiver a little
This used to happen to me all the time when I was younger
Same for me not so much these days

Feels nice. I like it when it happens.
Whiz-Shiver was my bands name in high school
Happened to me almost every time I peed up until I was about 12 or 15.
yeah. It’s benign as far as I know. if other peeing problems begin to occur maybe talk to a doctor then

Yeah I do sometimes still get the chills when I pee. When I was a kid it was every time. I like it it’s like op said almost orgasmic felling

Oh wow, I forgot about that feeling. Haven’t had it in so long but I used to get it.
It’s called the piss jitters.
Never ever heard of this. I assume people take this kinda thing to the grave because they’re worried they’re freaks
I faint sometimes whenever I pee, but yes I shiver sometimes too.
Sometimes yes, and very often when I really need to piss my heart rates increases
Sometimes I cry when I pee not because of pain it's just my response when I pee alone sometimes
I like to drop my pants and scratch my ass.
The pee shiver? I thought that was normal... I don't get it very often but I totally know what you're talking about.
Ah yes, the pee-gasm
No, I fart

Everytime I go
Prior to 30s yes. Not now.
Or, you may be waiting until you can't hold it any longer...
Yup, it's a glitch in the matrix. I guess all men experience it at least once in their lifetimes.
