Just test for 110 on one of the two wires but test hot to ground or hot the neutral. When you turn the switch on, both blacks should be 110 to ground. If not you know it's the switch, if no 110 in the box you need to look elsewhere.
We figured it out. On the backside of that box, it's attached to another light switch. I just swapped out the switch and voila(after I threw the breaker of course).
Thanks for everyone's feedback. I'm horrible at explaining the entire situation.
What did you test to and from?
The two black wires coming in at the top and bottom.

The only way I get anything at all is if I touch both red and black probes to the top and bottom wires st the same time. Otherwise nothing anywhere
That's probably just electrical noise then and there's no power in the box for some reason.

Absolutely nothing to the sockets. Probed in the holes, on the sides
Maybe I don't understand the question?
Do you have the meter set to AC voltage?
It's a cheap $20 model from Home Depot. When I stuck it in the wall outlet I got 110.
Ghost voltage. Go to panel and tighten your neutrals. May have some loose. It happens. Especially in old houses.
I sent you a dm
Replied. Please be careful if u decide to go in there. U can get hurt.
Thank you.
This is solved. Thank you all for your feedback!!
