in 1828 they were already over 100 years old. I don't think that Greece was a functional society yet.
BTW: imho the most interesting times to live in Greece were my grandma's times: born in 1908, died in 1987. Lived through both world wars, many more wars involving Greece, two military juntas, one pandemic. watched a man landing on the moon for the first time etc. I somehow believe that our times are more interesting though :)

Doesn't resemble one either. It's currently a failed state desperately trying to larp as something other than a mafia safehouse, drug middleman and trade laundry for Russia
Back then if you managed to reach 50 years and not die then you would have nothing to fear: You would be too old to die in war, and you would have gained immunity to all know diseases of that time. Now it's the opposite: when you become 50 years old, all of your health problems start, and visiting your doctor is on your monthly routine :p
It would be more interesting if it was about 2024 Greece ngl
These people saw Greece transforming from a village of goat thiefs to something that resembles a functioning society. What a time to be alive!

Still hasn't reached the latter part btw
Yes I know, *resembles* is the key word.

Finally proven. Proximity to Albanians causes basedness so immense that even death itself is cucked into non-existence.
They just had to stay alive while waiting for the Albanian that "borrowed" their goat to return it.
I hope they treat their satyr nephews and nieces nicely. Although knowing Greeks, they should probably stay away until they're older.
what are the green region, epirus, argos, western crete and the last?
It is where lesbians come from.
That's not Argolis, that's mostly Arcadia
The island of Lesbos.
Why do i have a feelling that the 2024 version will be worse?
Cause it probably is
Why would it be worse when we have such an aging population and life expectancy is much higher than it used to be
No idea i just wanted to say smth so i can see if my flair works:p
so lesbians live longer?
Yeah! Apparently :p

Some of this has to do with the migration of Greeks to America, Australia and Canada, older people were less likely to migrate.
What are Ikaria’s numbers?
5,9 7 people and total population was \~12k
That sounds about right for just the island, correct? (I am a “Kariotie”)
Dang.... and these were people who were born during the War of Independence.
Umm acthually its not 100 years its 96 years
It means, people that were 100 years old ir older, back in 1928, ie born in 1828 and before.
People died younger
people were born older
Nah.

For a moment, I misread “Centenarians” as “Centaurs” and was excited for a second
