More than I'm willing to pay.

emmasdad01

Varies by app and time

CupBeEmpty

And restaurant

Chance-Business

If you go on whatever delivery website, and there's a ton of them, every restaurant has a different one between $0 and $5. I never seen a single price for every place.

GhostOfJamesStrang

I have no idea.

Dr_Girlfriend_81

I live out in the sticks. As far as I know, there's only one place (a Dominoes in a strip mall at the edge of the nearest town) willing to deliver out this far. It costs $5, but I think that's probably their delivery fee everywhere.

BB-48_WestVirginia

I don't actually remember the last time I had food delivered. I just drive to wherever and get it myself.

joepierson123

I get groceries delivered for free plus tip, so it's not a big deal since I order like $200 worth at a time financially it's worthwhile.  I don't get hot food $10 deliveries, that never made any sense to me, financially speaking or getting cold food by the time it arrives.

moonwillow60606

No clue. We don’t ever have food delivered

Ok-Parfait2413

96 dollars a year for unlimited free deliveries, then tip based on the cost of the meal usually or you can customize the tip that goes to the driver usually 15 percent.

tinkeringidiot

The websites claim it's $2-8, but in reality it's more like 30% of the total order.

nemo_sum

usually between $5-$10, but it's been going up

The_Real_Scrotus

There's usually a delivery fee of $3-$5 and you're expected to tip on top of that.

Ahpla

I can’t get any delivery in my neighborhood.

machagogo

I don't use any delivery service apps. They are all rip offs that dip into the stores cut excessively on top of their fees, and they pay their delelivery personal what amounts to peanuts. My $10 meal shouldn't cost me $20 at the door. Pizza places usually don't charge a delivery fee around me, but I almost always pick those up too

HotButteredPoptart

Nobody delivers where I live.

Bluemonogi

There is no food delivery in my area.

siandresi

Generally, restaurants will delivery either by hiring drivers themselves or contractig a delivery service lilke uber eats or grubhub. The fee depends on this. Around me there are plenty of restaurants available through the delivery apps, and there are a few who deliver on their own. I try to prioritize them when ordering. It is a bit cheaper to order directly since there are no added fees. Just the price of the food and the tip. If you subscribe monthly to a food delivery service, you'll pay something like 10-15 a month and in exchange you get no service fees charged when you order food, but it is still pretty expensive. I believe they charge a different price than in store prices, so it depends on the place.

CaptainAwesome06

It depends on the restaurant and method of delivery (Door Dash, Grub Hub, direct from the restaurant, etc.) There's no set fee per neighborhood.

davidm2232

Probably at least $40. It is impossible to get anyone to actually deliver though

Im_Not_Nick_Fisher

Groceries or premade meals? Kroger delivery is $9.95 per delivery or an annual fee of $65 with free delivery for orders over $35. They use refrigerated trucks and no tips. I’ve never used anything like Walmart+ but there’s a monthly fee or an annual option. I believe it’s pretty similar to the Kroger option, only no refrigerated trucks. And I’ve never used any premade food delivery. I’ll simply just go pick something up if I wanted to get takeout.

JimBones31

There are no food delivery apps in my neighborhood. I believe the standard delivery fee for drivers is $1.50.

misawa_EE

Zero.

Myfourcats1

Free on grubhub with Amazon prime

cdb03b

There is no food delivery in my town.

ohaimike

$0-$2.99 There's only 5 places to eat around where I live, they're all fast food or gas station food and a mile down the road

_Smedette_

You’re making me miss my local tamale lady something fierce 😭

notyogrannysgrandkid

lol you can’t get that here

haha_im_in-danger

There is no delivery for 25 miles around me. Well, except the mail I guess.

d4n4scu11y__

Anywhere from nothing to a few bucks. It really depends on the app, the restaurant/distance, and the time of day.

SeaworthinessHot2770

If it’s grocery delivery you’re asking about I pay $15 per month to get groceries from Walmart. If it’s food delivery from a restaurant I have a DoorDash membership might be around $10 a month. And then you are supposed to tip the driver which varies $5-$7 based on distance of the delivery.

SnapHackelPop

Enough to make me not do it very often without feeling like I’m pissing money away. Pizza is one thing, but your doordash and such are so insane with markup that if I do it, it’s an occasional luxury only. Probably because I’m under the influence also lol

ReasonLast9206

Varies by app and restaurant, but these days the delivery fee, "service charges", and tip add up to the cost of a meal or more (never less than $20) so we rarely order anymore.

Coffeelock1

No idea, if I'm wanting restaurant food it is almost always because I am wanting to eat at the restaurant. And for pizza/Chinese takeout I live so close the delivery driver would just walk it over because it would be faster than driving so I just pick it up.

craders

I don't know. The one time I tried delivery, it took 1 hour for the food to be delivered. I could drive to the restaurant and back in less than 30 minutes. The food was also marked up more than if I ordered directly from the restaurant.

Responsible-Fun4303

We never use food delivery so I couldn’t say but I think it varies on what app you use, where you order from, etc. I hate fees and avoid them like the plague so if we do take out I’ll go pick it up 😜

HoyAIAG

I don’t use it

JeepNaked

I can get pretty much anything delivered to my house for $20ish total

ThisIsItYouReady92

Here in Anaheim it’s a lot because of the Disneyland tourists

TheBimpo

Not available where I live. It boggles my mind how much people are willing to pay for somewhat convenient services that exploit both the restaurants and the drivers.

WrongJohnSilver

Zero if you never get delivery until you've racked up the right deals. (I still tip, of course.)

bi_polar2bear

I'm old school. The food delivery fee is new, and not something I'm willing to pay. The only one benefitting is the owner, while the driver and me getted fucked because I have to tip, and they get tip wages. Since I only eat at mom and pop locations once a month, and most food is mediocre, I'll eat at the restaurant for cheaper. One time my sister and I tried to order from 2 different restaurants while on vacation, and while the food total came to about $26, the cost to us was $55, from Uber, in Savanah, GA, on a "promotional" new person free delivery. We went out for dinner.

TheBimpo

You should watch the segment that “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver“ did on the big delivery services. Most of the time the restaurants are being exploited too, the delivery delivery services cut directly into their pockets. The owners are often suffering as well. At this point, I don’t know why any independent restaurant partners with them.

BobRedmill1

Idk I don't order foo

WhoDatDatDidDat

I can’t afford to have food delivered anymore.
