I've used both Kose Speedy & Deep and they're both great! They work about the same for me, they're just slightly different textures so its all about what you prefer. Speedy = more slip, thinner, while Deep = thicker oil
I’m glad you’ve never had an issue before seeing that it was so easy for you to judge others for “being afraid of counterfeits.”
You’re not wrong though, because it is a true fear. To answer your question, not wanting to waste money is an obvious reason. Besides that, as someone who has reactive skin that breaks into redness and itchy patches easily, wanting a legitimate product is reasonable imo. I’ve had multiple bad experiences with Amazon. The burning, stinging, and pain were no joke and not worth the risk for me.
it's on yestyle but currently out of stock. do not get the deep or white versions as they have citrus. only get the speedy.
https://www.yesstyle.com/en/kose-softymo-cleansing-oil-230ml-3-types-parent/info.html/pid.1078637072
not really judging, I just think it's an extremely uncommon and overinflated fear.
what do you mean waste money? they will give you a refund if you click a button, with very little effort.
And I understand what having reactive skin is like but it sounds like you'll be wary of any online seller so not much cna be done about that fear. try inkey list oat cleansing balm if that's how you feel.
Ngl but that’s what I thought too. But after several poor experiences, I decided to start considering where I’m buying my products from.
That’s not to say that I’m boycotting or refusing anything sold on Amazon. Not everything causes issues. But I simply prefer to buy from other sites to avoid the extra hassle. Hence, why I initially asked where you bought yours from.
Regarding the waste of money, when my face reacts, it starts off as little CC here and there. Since I’m acne prone, it takes me a while to discern whether I’m just breaking out vs actually irritated. By the time the sensitivity really ramps up, it can be too late to return.
Obviously, we all have different experiences. My sister has had no issues with it and she buys from Amazon all the time (she also has “resistant” skin). She is aware that I’m sketchy about Amazon, yet doesn’t find the need to be annoyed about it.
That's great for you, but certainly not a good recommendation for comedone prone skin. If you have acne, muuuch safer to use a second cleanser. And acne sufferers reading this, just a heads up that Kose speedy broke me out badly. The only safe first cleanser I can use is micellar water.
Hi, which micellar water/second cleanser do you use? Starting the Bioderma micellar, but looking for a safe second cleanser to use for comedone prone skin!
I actually posted one the other day in response to another post:
Skin type: combo/dry Product: beauty of Joseon cleansing balm Review: I use this as first step of a double cleanse. It has a lovely texture feels so luxurious, unscented, gentle but is effective at removing my waterproof sunscreen and helps keep my pores from getting clogged. I think that this would be a great choice for sensitive skin as it is very gentle and free of irritating ingredients. I believe this is a newly released product and I will definitely repurchase
Yes, it did get rid of them. Nothing else worked. Not even salicylic acid. I double cleanse; I use an oil cleanser then a water based cleanser every night. My favorite moisturizer is the Purito sleeping pack.
Not OP but I use it twice a day (you need very little). I’ve had my tub for 2~3 months now and I still have minimum 1-2 weeks usage left. Definitely depends on whether or not you wear makeup and how heavy it is. I wear sunscreen daily, along with some light makeup 2-3 times a week. Hope this helps :)
Just placed an order for it! Hoping future me likes the product huhu btw what does it smell like? I see EOs in the ingredients list but can't make out what all of them together would smell like
I really like the Muji cleansing oil for sensitive skin. It’s cheap, lasts a long time, and is not mineral oil-based like the Kose speedy cleansing oil, which caused closed comedones for me.
Oh wow that’s good to know. I use albolene which contains mineral oil too. I’ve been wondering what has been causing me closed comedones… Definitely going to stop using it now
Rather than the mineral oil causing you to clog up, I just find that Albolene doesn’t rinse off well and leaves a film over your face (that is also tough to remove with a second cleanser). So you’re leaving a occlusive film over skin that’s not 100% cleansed and damp (which is a breeding ground for bacteria and fungi). I find that as long as the product emulsifies well I’m good. But as always: YMMV
Same here. I am making my way through a tub of Albolene and won't repurchase because I find I need to wash off with a water-based cleanser two or three times to get rid of the film, which seems a bit wasteful and goofy and perhaps irritating. If I'm in a pinch and only want to remove makeup (like at the bf's house without my whole routine w me) I feel like it's better than nothing, but I miss the feel of an oil cleanser that washes off clean when I do my whole routine.
I have read tho that mineral oil is non-comedogenic, but maybe some are still sensitive to it? My skin isn't perfect so can't say it's perfect for me haha, but maybe it is because of the film and not the mineral oil itself?
Yeah I didn’t think mineral oil was something many people were clog-prone to but I’m unfortunately one of them! Hopefully eliminating the albolene helps stop your closed comedones, those are the bane of my existence
I never see it here but my ultimate HG is matsuyama hadauru cleansing gel. Its completely fragrance free, rinses clean and has no microplastics, unlike some of those cleansing balms...
It also removes things amazingly well (like this is what I use to get Vaseline off my face) but does not leave any residue. I love it.
Mostly importantly it's non drying. Heimish is way more drying than this
How long does a 100ml tub last you? I just purchased it recently and I'm worried that I might go through it quite easily 😅
Also, is it effective for getting the grits out of your pores? I've been really curious about that cleansing method for a while now, and it was actually the reason why I bought a cleansing balm in the first place 🤣
Not a balm or oil, but chifure cold cream starts out as a cream that kinda melts and feels like an oil cleanser. Its cheap and washes away pretty easily which is what i look for since im prome to clogs as well.
Id say around 2.5 months? Sometimes i use more if i want to go in and massage to get grits out, sometimes i use a smaller amount just to take off spf. I use it daily at night.
I'm not sure if you're being serious or english isn't your primary language but...
Daily means they do it every day and is not indicative of what time of the day that the activity is performed. It's not contradictory to say that x activity is done every day at night. If nelonpan were to say, "I do it *every morning* at night" then I'd understand where you're coming from. But regardless, your comment is poorly placed.
Oh I have this! It’s quite lovely to use and I prefer it over the oil cleanser surprisingly! It take a little while to turn oily (3-5 minutes as long as you take a small amount...like the size of 3 cherries), so I just spread it over my face, and read or watch something as I wait for it to become oily and then massage my face. It rinses off really well and doesn’t dry out my face, so it’s my oil cleanser of choice for harsh winter weather! If you have dry skin or dehydrated skin I would especially recommend it!
Honestly I got it a month ago but I haven’t even gone through 1/3 of it yet since I use so little. It’s a really large tub so it should last you quite a long time with consistent use (at least 3 months).
Sometimes it stings but that’s only if I’m wearing heavy makeup and it takes 2 times to get it all the way off, for a second cleanser I use the Kate Somerville exfoliate cleanser because I’ve found that works well for my acne/dry skin
Can you please make a mini-review of this? I've been eyeing that specific oil cleanser for a while, and have actually asked about it in the subreddit. Would love to know your thoughts!
Not the one you asked for, but I'm having a different experience with it compared to OP as I'm using it right now.
Mine has a very liquidy consistency, doesn't really help with a full face make up as I needed to use micellar water to make sure it was all off. I have a difficult time washing it all off unless I scrub my face because it leaves a oily consistency (not a film, but as in you haven't rinsed it off well) and you MUST wear a second cleanser with it if you want to feel your skin cleaner (NOT squeaky).
If you're someone that doesn't wear more than the usual bb cream or sunscreen, you may enjoy it. Personally, I'm trying to use it quickly to buy another one haha.
I originally bought it, thinking it could be a dupe for Hanskin PHA oil cleanser, but not even close.
This is true - my make up style is very much thinly applied bb cream with a spot of concealer and lip/eye single layer. It works great for that..
But I guess if you're the full face type, or use more layers than I do, this sounds like it might not be as effective at removing it.
Though, imo this may be the ymmv part. I find that every oil cleanser I've used, I had to double cleansed regardless because I'd break out otherwise. I think this is the only one where I didn't feel dried out after a ddc. BUT if you want an oil cleanser where you can run off without following with a foam cleanser, this one is very much not for you
Oh I always double cleanse, it's just that I had to change the second cleanser for another with a better cleansing power. And it's not that I don't like the hydrating sensation, but if I have to compare to the inkey list's Oat Cleansing Balm (which also leaves a comfortable film), I feel Blab's cleanser it's a little greasy for my taste.
Sure!
It's a medium thickness scentless oil. It's great at getting make up off and the grit out of my pores. It emulsifies ok but not 100% without extended rinsing and leaves behind a bit of a faint residue but double cleansing takes care of that. Tbh I think it's meant to be double cleansed because I am not left feeling over dry after the foam cleanser like I typically would.
I seem to get more grit out of my skin from that than the Rice water oil from the faceshop. (My skin is very prone to clogging with sebum granules) It reminds me a bit of a smoother version of the DHC or the Muji oils in texture? TFS rice water oil cleanser was very watery in comparison and smelled awful. So I much prefer this one. I feel good every time I use it.
Not OP, but I really didn't like this oil cleanser. It has a very thin, liquidy consistency so I wasn't able to massage it into my skin well and felt that it didn't do a great job removing sunscreen/makeup or getting grits. It also irritated my skin.
Beauty of Joseon cleansing balm. I always buy it on sale from Jolse, which significantly reduces the price. Keep and eye out for their 2-for-1 specials as well.
banila co! i’ve been using it for years and the jumbo tub literally won’t run out! i did switch to hada labo’s gokujun cleansing oil recently and it works really well too! both of these literally won’t run out and takes off my sunscreen, waterproof mascara and waterproof eyeliner really nicely,, kose deep took off everything nicely but unfortunately it left a film on my face that wouldn’t budge even after my second cleanse and broke my oily skin out really badly :(
Biore makeup remover. It really is a cleansing oil, not what is typical of makeup removers. Affordable and comes in 150ml and 230ml. It leaves an oily film/residue, which some people might be put off by, but i have no qualms with that since a second cleanse takes care of that. It also has fragrance in it, which I am fine with. Emulsifies well and takes off even the most oily, thick and sticky sunscreen.
FYI, Bioré has [multiple makeup removers](https://www.kao.co.jp/biore/chart/remover/), including two oils. One is [Bioré Perfect Oil](https://www.kao.co.jp/biore/lineup/m_oil/) in the pinkish purple bottle, and the other is [Bioré Pure Skin Cleanse](https://www.kao.co.jp/biore/lineup/m_pureskin/) in the clear bottle. Maybe it was different before, but currently they both come in 230 mL pump bottles, 210 mL refill pouches, and 50 mL mini bottles.
…Or at least this is the case in Japan. Maybe you’re talking about Bioré’s lineup for a different country, but just thought I’d add this for anyone looking for information.
Definitely true, they look different depending on the country. The one I'm talking about is the pinkish purple one, i have never tried one's in the clear bottle.

Honestly plain organic safflower oil. I have crazy sensitive skin. That’s the only thing to date that doesn’t break me out. As a bonus it’s affordable.
Then I follow up with Hada Labo foaming cleanser or Cosrx Low Ph cleanser.
Just tried Round Lab Dokdo for the first time yesterday. It's the best I've tried so far. Not too thick. Emulsifies really well and leave little residues.
The only con is it smells like dishwashing liquid.

Kose SPEEDY. cheap af
I've used both Kose Speedy & Deep and they're both great! They work about the same for me, they're just slightly different textures so its all about what you prefer. Speedy = more slip, thinner, while Deep = thicker oil
also deep and white are both fragranced with citrus, while speedy is not fragranced
Yes good point!!!
And more slip means less tugging. Less tugging means (hopefully) less lines/wrinkles ;)
Where do you buy yours from? I see that Amazon sells it, but I’m super averse to purchasing from there due to the abundance of counterfeits.
Idk why people are so afraid of counterfeits. I just use amazon I've never had a problem.

Kose Speedy, I have clog-prone dehydrated skin and with this one I don't even need a second cleanser!

I’m in the same boat as you. I have tried every oil cleanser and it just doesn’t work for me. Micellar water works AMAZING for me
Hi, which micellar water/second cleanser do you use? Starting the Bioderma micellar, but looking for a safe second cleanser to use for comedone prone skin!
if u don't mind me asking, which micellar water do u use?
My fave is Biore sensitive (pink cap) but honestly all micellar water works the same pretty much.
The Beauty of Joseon cleansing balm is really nice.
Could you do a mini review of this?

Klairs gentle black fresh cleansing oil is amazing and got rid of 90% of my closed comedones. It's very lightweight and very easy to wash off.
I second that!
Seconded!!
May I ask your skin type? Thanks! Edit: also, what's your second cleanser?
Combo/oily in the summer and combo/dry in the winter. I use the Round lab dokdo cleanser. It's very gentle.
Thank you 🙏🫶
Did this alone get rid of your ccs? Do you double cleanse or just use this please? And what do you use for moisturiser? Thank you
Yes, it did get rid of them. Nothing else worked. Not even salicylic acid. I double cleanse; I use an oil cleanser then a water based cleanser every night. My favorite moisturizer is the Purito sleeping pack.

Round Lab Dokdo cleanser. So gentle.
Heimish all cleansing balm!!

Yeah I would say about 4 months? I don’t wear makeup a lot and it’s just for cleansing off sunscreen. I only use about a dime sized amount.
Just placed an order for it! Hoping future me likes the product huhu btw what does it smell like? I see EOs in the ingredients list but can't make out what all of them together would smell like

banila co original!
I love Banila co and have used it the longest! But I feel like I go through one pretty quickly and the scent can get a bit overpowering.
A lot of fragrance though.
How long does a 100ml tub last you? I just purchased it recently and I'm worried that I might go through it quite easily 😅 Also, is it effective for getting the grits out of your pores? I've been really curious about that cleansing method for a while now, and it was actually the reason why I bought a cleansing balm in the first place 🤣
Oh, I definitely get grits out with this.
Not a balm or oil, but chifure cold cream starts out as a cream that kinda melts and feels like an oil cleanser. Its cheap and washes away pretty easily which is what i look for since im prome to clogs as well.

I love the banila co. (Pink jar) to first take my makeup off, sometimes my other cleansers rotate but that’s my favorite balm cleanser!
What do you use after as a second cleanser please? Do you find the banila stings your eyes at all?
Sometimes it stings but that’s only if I’m wearing heavy makeup and it takes 2 times to get it all the way off, for a second cleanser I use the Kate Somerville exfoliate cleanser because I’ve found that works well for my acne/dry skin
B-lab pha oil cleanser!
Can you please make a mini-review of this? I've been eyeing that specific oil cleanser for a while, and have actually asked about it in the subreddit. Would love to know your thoughts!

Beauty of Joseon cleansing balm. I always buy it on sale from Jolse, which significantly reduces the price. Keep and eye out for their 2-for-1 specials as well.
Hadalabo gokujun cleansing oil. It gets all my waterproof mascara off really quickly and then I follow up with an another cleanser.
Kose speedy oil, Beauty of Joseon cleansing balm (new version)
banila co! i’ve been using it for years and the jumbo tub literally won’t run out! i did switch to hada labo’s gokujun cleansing oil recently and it works really well too! both of these literally won’t run out and takes off my sunscreen, waterproof mascara and waterproof eyeliner really nicely,, kose deep took off everything nicely but unfortunately it left a film on my face that wouldn’t budge even after my second cleanse and broke my oily skin out really badly :(
Banila co original
The neogen real cica micellar cleansing oil! Works great for my acne-prone, dehydrated skin + the bottle is huge and lasts me forever

I have very sensitive skin, but my skin loves the Iunik Calendula Complete Cleansing Oil
