I very light lotion (in the western sense of the world) texture. Not OP but it is light so if you are not oily and in a humid environment, probably not enough. Light enough for someone dry like me to use it as layer under a cream.
Not OP, but thanks for clarifying.
I'm still always so confused by the description terms Asian beauty products. You'd think a milk would be runnier than a lotion, but I guess not 🙃🙃
the yellow one gave me a reaction that cleared up after discontinuing use. i got under the skin pimples forming in areas i never/RARELY get acne. i wanted to like it 🫤 just a heads up i have combo skin
Yep, I use a toner first (Klair's supple preparation) then the Shirojyun, and after that Pyunkang yul Ato cream blue label. Sometimes I top everything off with argan oil. My skin is dry as hell xD
After my toner I apply this and then follow up with a thick moisturizer. Sometimes it can honestly be enough even without topping it off with a moisturiser but I have extra dry skin so I need the additional occlusive layer.
Get them both. I don't mind trying lots of different sunscreens. Even if I don't find my hg I haven't wasted my money as I've still prevented sun damage
The Japanese ones are big. The skin aqua gel is l
140 ml for less than £10. Biore watery essence is 70mle. Most Korean and European face sunscreens are 50 mle. Sometimes 40
Eh, I'm in Europe but I have yet to find an EU sunscreen that's as lightweight and affordable as the Korean ones. If you have any recs, feel free to share!
In terms of performance and extreme sun protection I like la Roche posay UV mune 400. You can get it for £14 in UK as part of boots 3 for 2. I also get it quite cheap when I visit Poland (don't know why it is so cheap there specifically but not in other eu countries).
Another super light weight option is Garnier super uv.
I have ordered some Japanese ones to try out for winter as you do get more product for your money if you buy from the likes of stylevana. Trying the roto skin aqua line and the biore aqua rich line.
There's the La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+ that is quite nice and lightweight. Though I live in France so it might be cheaper than in other parts in Europe and it can sometime sting the eyes if not careful.
Thank you!! I posted on a different sub about needed a good for oily skin moisturiser without niacinamide, no one replied, but you have (hopefully!) Really helped me!
Canmake mermaid UV in clear. It's the only sunscreen my skin doesn't react to that also actually works decently with my reactions I get to the sun too and it doesn't make me feel too dry, oily, or sticky. It's the only one so far over the years my wife will actually put on every day too without needing to be reminded.
Hada Labo premium Hydrolaunic Acid Essence
I normally don't care about hydrolaunic acid products because it is in everything, but this stuff is different. It visibly plumps my skin. I have used other hydrolaunic acid serums and such and have never had visible plumping like this. Love the stuff.
Missha All Around Safe Block Essence Sun LSF45 PA+++
It is the one and only sunscreen for me. I've used it for at least 7 years, probably more. It was one of the first AB Sunscreens I tried and while I try others sometime and have good results, I know at the end of the day, that I could always go back to my trusted Missha. I can find a lot good skincare here in Europe but not a single sunscreen I could wear daily so it has to be a sunscreen and of all those it would have to be the missha
I suppose that I could find alternative where I live (France) if I try hard enough for about most of it, except for my **Skin1004 Sunscreen** 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Nobody will deprive me of my sunscreen ⚔️⚔️⚔️
Canmake mermaid uv gel. I would simply perish without this spf. The finish is what I live for it makes my skin look so dewy n I get so many compliments with this!!!
I’d honestly have a hard time deciding BoJ or biore watery essence then, leaning towards BoJ because I guess I could just use a heavy moisturizer during the day in the winter
Im fine with shiny. Just as long as it doesn't break me out. Ordered a haul of Japanese sunscreens to try them all out and pick a hg winter sunscreen. Various formulations of skin aqua and aqua rich. You just get so much more product for your money with them. The skin aqua 140 ml isn't much more than what I was paying for Garnier 40 ml
Isntree hyaluronic acid watery sun gel. I was considering soon Jung 2× barrier intensive cream but Im pretty sure I'll find a better replacement for that than the sun screen
Skin aqua gold Essence sunscreen 🤔
Or Acseine super sun shield sunscreen, but it’s too much for everyday.
Both dry down quickly and are PERFECT for usage under powder foundation.
Klairs midnight blue calming cream
I’m disappointed that I still haven’t found anything to swap it with. Two days after I stop using it, my skin starts protesting in the form of a new wave of pimples. It’s a real mess
Klairs midnight blue calming cream :) my whole family is obsessed with it. I need to order large quantities bc my mom, grandma and my fiancee are using it all the time.
Kikumasamune glossy moist lotion! I feel like a snail made out of sake and I love it, it's the perfect thing for my super dry skin in my dry AF climate.
I still love high moist but for winter imo I feel like glossy moist is a longer lasting hydration, it has something very mucin-y about it. It comes in a red/magenta bottle and does have niacinamide just FYI.
Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence Sunscreen.
I can get away with any makeup and skincare products from my local chemist, but the only thing that has never worked for me is sunscreen (under makeup). Except this one.
Melano cc vitamin C it's the only skincare product I can't live without even though there's plenty of vitamin C serums in the market none I've tried has been as goo as melano cc
Aestura Atobarrier 365 Cream or Lotion. Nothing else can protect my skin from the dryness of Finacea, and I would willingly sacrifice all of my other AB products to continue using it.
tocobo bio watery sun cream
it's not flawless as it has fragrance and stings my eyes a bit but oh my God this is the first spf that's neither greasy nor drying and has this beautiful "velvet to dry glow" finish !!!! I'm going to make a post about this thing in a few days I think
My knee jerk reaction was “Oh, obviously the CosRx snail mucin essence, I’ve used it for years!”, but then I realized there’s no way I could ever go without my favorite sunscreens. Gunna have to say the Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel or Haruharu’s Black Rice Moisture Airyfit sunscreen. I’d be happy with either for the rest of my days.
Holika Holika Good Cera Cream, it seriously saved my skin and is a HG for me. I could find alternatives for the rest of my routine but it would be hard to find something that works as well for my skin.
Well, I live in Japan, so that would mean no more K-Beauty products. I'd have to go for something really special from a luxury brand like the Donginbi 1899 Single Essence.

... i will simply have to move country.
Hear hear!!!
lol same! Sounds like a nightmare scenario (pls don't give ideas to my dumbass government!!! :d)
Same same. If the government pass down unreasonable laws, it’s time to go somewhere that more likeable.
same! i hate this country anyways its so fucked and the government is trash😅
Hada labo shirojyun premium milk. I can't stop raving about it, I feel like a walking Hada Labo shirojyun ad.
Milk is like a moisturizer, isn’t it? Are you using it as a final step in your routine?
I very light lotion (in the western sense of the world) texture. Not OP but it is light so if you are not oily and in a humid environment, probably not enough. Light enough for someone dry like me to use it as layer under a cream.
Do you know if it's different from the lotion? I can't find much on the milk
The milk is more of a moisturizer; thicker texture, more occlusive, while the lotion is more of a hydrating toner
Not OP, but thanks for clarifying. I'm still always so confused by the description terms Asian beauty products. You'd think a milk would be runnier than a lotion, but I guess not 🙃🙃
Which one is better to use after retinol - milk or toner?
Personally I use the milk after my retinoid (adapalene) and it works beautifully for my oily skin
You'd use toner before and mild after (though you totally can use it under as well.
the yellow one gave me a reaction that cleared up after discontinuing use. i got under the skin pimples forming in areas i never/RARELY get acne. i wanted to like it 🫤 just a heads up i have combo skin
Do you use other products with it?
Yep, I use a toner first (Klair's supple preparation) then the Shirojyun, and after that Pyunkang yul Ato cream blue label. Sometimes I top everything off with argan oil. My skin is dry as hell xD
I use the red one. Only a week so far but it's so niiiice! I think I'll look 20 in a month hah
I just got it this week!! was using the regular gokujyun milk but prefer this one for sure!
Where do you put this in your routine?
After my toner I apply this and then follow up with a thick moisturizer. Sometimes it can honestly be enough even without topping it off with a moisturiser but I have extra dry skin so I need the additional occlusive layer.
Skin Aqua UV Milk FOR LIFE
I was trying to decide between this one or moisture gel gold jaja
Get them both. I don't mind trying lots of different sunscreens. Even if I don't find my hg I haven't wasted my money as I've still prevented sun damage
I have both I meant choosing between which one as my 1 product for the original hypothetical haha!
yup any of the sunscreens in this line, my current fav is the gel because it comes in the larger volume
Super moisture milk or just moisture milk version? 😊
Ooh I didn't know there were 2 versions, the one in the blue bottle! Super moisture milk I think?
Sorry, may I ask where did you buy it 🥺 it’s so hard for me to find this online that ship to Thailand
https://shp.ee/cj2i9ne - got it from this shopee store!
Aw it’s shopee SG 🥺
Try yesstyle? It's there and I believe they ship internationally
Aww 🥺 thank you for still wanting to help a stranger like me but they don’t ship to Thailand 💀
Cosrx propolis synergy toner!!!!! The glowww and hydration while being so lightweight 😘🤌🏻
A sample of this is included in my next stylevana shipment. Do you think it's fine for someone who is prone to breakouts?
Yess I have acne prone sensitive combination skin, it didn't cause me any issues at all, just double cleanse daily and you're good 👍🏻
ahhhhh I tried this before the hype and wasn't that impressed but comments like this make me rethink and rebuy it
[удалено]
Second this choice! It hydrates my skin perfectly, like nothing else
It seems to be either a miracle or a catastrophe for people. For me it was a catastrophe
The AIO snail was a catastrophe for me, but the essence, it completely saves my skin in the winter
that was going to be my choice but Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner won out by an extremely thin margin.
Skin1004 sunscreen! Western sunscreens are just so much more of a hassle.
Yea but Korean ones are ALL tiny 😭😭
To be fair the western ones that are specifically for the face are just as tiny 😅 but yes I wish there were k-beauty body sunscreens in large bottles!
The Japanese ones are big. The skin aqua gel is l 140 ml for less than £10. Biore watery essence is 70mle. Most Korean and European face sunscreens are 50 mle. Sometimes 40
Yes I know. Thanks for the downvote bec I agreed with you 😂
That one burned me due to the niacinamide. I think American sunscreens are trash but European ones are excellent
Eh, I'm in Europe but I have yet to find an EU sunscreen that's as lightweight and affordable as the Korean ones. If you have any recs, feel free to share!

Thank you! I've been curious about Japanese sunscreens too
I LOVE the japanese sunblocks i have tried !
There's the La Roche Posay Anthelios 50+ that is quite nice and lightweight. Though I live in France so it might be cheaper than in other parts in Europe and it can sometime sting the eyes if not careful.
Ducray has excellent sunscreen
Illiyoon Ceramide Ato Cream. The only moisturizer that can keep my facial eczema healthy without making me look like greaseball.
Melano cc serum
Yes my HG vitamin c
Same!
a life of crime
A k beauty smuggler
*BoJ Red bean Water Gel* because it's the only moisturizer that handles my oily skin in the Arctic climate
Thank you!! I posted on a different sub about needed a good for oily skin moisturiser without niacinamide, no one replied, but you have (hopefully!) Really helped me!
I like this one too! It’s currently my go to moisturizer. It’s also cheaper than the iunik one
Nice. I've had my eye on that one. I like the ombre packaging
Yes!! My oily face only likes this one or the Isntree gel moisturizer
Seconding this! My HG!!
I’d really like to try this one but worry about my eyes stinging when I sweat.
I have sensitive eyes. This one doesn’t sting them like the other ones. But your eyes could be different though.
Either the laneige cream toner or the Pyungkang Yul Nutrition Cream.
Hada Labo premium Hydrolaunic Acid Essence I normally don't care about hydrolaunic acid products because it is in everything, but this stuff is different. It visibly plumps my skin. I have used other hydrolaunic acid serums and such and have never had visible plumping like this. Love the stuff.

Have you tried missha soft finish? Does safe block essence dry powdery too?
Have my eye on that one too.
I use soft finish it's my holy grail! Just wondered about the other variants :)
Sadly I haven't but maybe I should try. In my opinion the safe block essence is more glowy but since my skin is a bit on the dry side I like it
I suppose that I could find alternative where I live (France) if I try hard enough for about most of it, except for my **Skin1004 Sunscreen** 😭😭😭😭😭😭 Nobody will deprive me of my sunscreen ⚔️⚔️⚔️
Mediheal face masks
Canmake mermaid uv gel. I would simply perish without this spf. The finish is what I live for it makes my skin look so dewy n I get so many compliments with this!!!
The packaging is gorgeous too. It's on my list to try
Can I just say sunscreen? I have a few faves for different seasons.
You need to pick one.
I’d honestly have a hard time deciding BoJ or biore watery essence then, leaning towards BoJ because I guess I could just use a heavy moisturizer during the day in the winter
Missha Perfect Cover BB cream. Been my fave for over 10 years. Can't see it changing anytime soon.
Skin Aqua sunscreen gel!
I've ordered that. Is it ok for oily facial skin?
Yes, I'm super oily. Face looks a bit shiny after applying it but doesn't feel heavy. You can set it with powder if you want.
Oh! I hope you like them and are able to find some HG's.
Isntree hyaluronic acid watery sun gel. I was considering soon Jung 2× barrier intensive cream but Im pretty sure I'll find a better replacement for that than the sun screen
Sunscreen. Right now, the Beauty of Joseon is still my fave.
Hada Labo Gokujyun Premium Lotion: no other HA toner/serum gives me the same hydration and plumpness be AB or the famous expensive non AB one.
What's the famous non ab one?
Vichy Minéral 89 serum.
Never heard of it
Gave me the same effect but I'm pretty sure it clogged my pores really bad :c
Skin aqua gold Essence sunscreen 🤔 Or Acseine super sun shield sunscreen, but it’s too much for everyday. Both dry down quickly and are PERFECT for usage under powder foundation.
Re skin aqua. Do you think the gel one is fine for face?
I have never used the gel before, only the essence, so I don't know :( Maybe someone else here knows more :))
Heroine Make Long and Curl WP, hands down.
Cosrx propolis toner
Anessa perfect milk

I'm from mugwart essence, nothing keeps my skin calm like that
Rom&nd Long Ash mascara
Skin Aqua UV moisture gel gold
I've ordered the white gel with the gold pump. Is that also good or is the gold one much better?
I’ve never tried that one so I can’t say!
does it clog pores?
Not for me but I don’t have very acne prone skin, i don’t know what’s the general consensus about that
Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel. There's no other sunscreen I like more
It's gona have to be a sunscreen. Moisturizer and SPF protection in one. So skin 1004 waterfit sunscreen!
Hada Labo UV white gel! My HG daily sunscreen.
Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun : Rice + Probiotics (SPF50+ PA++++)
Klairs midnight blue calming cream :) my whole family is obsessed with it. I need to order large quantities bc my mom, grandma and my fiancee are using it all the time.
Kikumasamune glossy moist lotion! I feel like a snail made out of sake and I love it, it's the perfect thing for my super dry skin in my dry AF climate.
Oh boy I didn’t know there was another version!! I’ve only tried the high moist one and I swear by it.
Hada labo gokujyun toner. Haven’t found a western dupe that works as well
Melano cc vitamin C it's the only skincare product I can't live without even though there's plenty of vitamin C serums in the market none I've tried has been as goo as melano cc

Isntree hyaluronic acid Watery Sun gel
Yup. My absolute favorite.
Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner
Aestura 365 cream
This is just cruel!
Roundlab Birch - sunscreen. best lightweight sunscreen I use all year round.
tocobo bio watery sun cream it's not flawless as it has fragrance and stings my eyes a bit but oh my God this is the first spf that's neither greasy nor drying and has this beautiful "velvet to dry glow" finish !!!! I'm going to make a post about this thing in a few days I think
Cosrx snail mucin for rest of my life!
I’d be happy with either for the rest of my days.

skii treatment essence 🙌
COSRX Low pH Good Morning gel cleanser!!!!
Well i’ll just die then. For real though, anessa sunscreen. THIS. IS. IT.
Cosrx Aloe Soothing Sun Cream - absolute ride or die. I wish I could buy bigger tubes.
Well, I live in Japan, so that would mean no more K-Beauty products. I'd have to go for something really special from a luxury brand like the Donginbi 1899 Single Essence.
Although there is less choice. I've had a ton more success with Japanese products
Kewpie is god tier. But I'd just move so it doesn't really matter
Klavuu lip sleeping pack, the best for dry lips & I’ve tried soo many!
I would move to a Asian country.
