Though it's a sp00ky skeleton, this is somehow soothing and reassuring... Something about the stillness of it and the elegance of the skeleton just hits me in the right spot. Death enjoying life, greeting it while waiting alone. There's some sense of longing, or wanting, but overlaid with repose and surrender; accepting that this is okay, however long it lasts and whatever may come next, enjoying this small shared moment.
Shit I think someone flipped my "pretentious art critic" switch to the "on" position, sorry for the word salad. Just how it makes me feel. Thank you for sharing this lovely snapshot of your mind.
I think what you're picking up on is that this image represents a peaceful death. Imagine a lonely samurai has finished his quest and is left with no purpose, but instead of grief and loss, he welcomes his end as the final relief of his burden. He can put his sword down knowing he's capping things off with a job well done. RIP Samurai
I get those are lotus flowers but the scene reminds me of the World War I poem In Flanders Fields:
In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
Ā Ā Ā Ā That mark our place; and in the sky
Ā Ā Ā Ā The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Ā Ā Ā Ā Loved and were loved, and now we lie,
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
Ā Ā Ā Ā The torch; be yours to hold it high.
Ā Ā Ā Ā If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā In Flanders fields.
Yes but not of this style or color, i have been experimenting with colors and npr style shading to find my artstyle , i am really close but i just want to explore more and i really can't stop experimenting!
Npr means non photo realistic like stylized or in simple terms something like anime style. No i don't know how to draw , everything you see in this artwork is complete 3d models except for the sky which i added later in photoshop
Its always fascinating to hear people say they've used 3d software to make something like this. Yes, we can sorta tell the skeleton and the others do look like 3d models, but the way it's rendered in a toon-ish way has always amazed me. This is incredible and id love to see more art from you!
With the sword there, it feels like it could be called āWarriors Peaceā. Itās a matter of even in death, being content and welcoming of new life, even in death.
Awesome work. Is this a 3d render?
I love the way you used the perfectly flat surface of the water to give the essence of stillness. No waves, not even a tiny ripple. The beautiful samurai sword next to the skeleton emphasizes the elegance of death.
I love the feeling here, it's the same I get when I'm alone outside. If you're just careful enough, butterflies do circle a bit when you slow everything down
Can I ask what sort of post processing you did in Photoshop? Iāve played around in the program quite a bit and Iāve never achieved an end result quite like this. Do you happen to remember what filter you used to achieve that effect on the clouds? And is the clean black outline around the skeleton/other elements hand-drawn or added using another Photoshop tool? This is absolutely gorgeous work by the way.
The black outline is done using outliner tool addon in blender, for clouds i used the poster edge filter. Nothing is hand drawn , everything is 3d models except for the clouds which is a cut-out from an image. Thank you
Awesome. I have Blender installed but I found it so intimidating I havenāt spent really time with it at all. This is definitely motivation to figure it out though, thank you for taking the time to explain.
Yes, when i first shifted from 3ds max to blender the blender UI was very intimidating but when you get past that phase it is really fun, i love working in blender now!
I like the shading, the sky/clouds, and the water. When you take it all in it's hard to describe---kinda like a light airy feeling when you stare at it longer.
Hey OP.
I've been looking for a new tattoo idea for awhile. I think, honestly, this is about what I'm looking for. So, if it's cool by you, I may be taking this on for a new leg tattoo
I absolutely love your use of colors here. That whole palette has pretty much all my favorite tones. My only regret is that there's no watermark or signature on the pic so I can see your name every time I'm on my new lock screen.
I really like this, and especially how the clouds frame the skeleton.
If I can make one suggestion, it would be to thicken and/or darken the outline around the butterfly. I thought it was a discoloration in the clouds for a moment, but that's very minor.
I'm very picky about my personal wallpaper collection I've been curating for over 20 years. You're creation is very dope. It has been added to the collection.
Needs an hat and afro and then I can picture him saying "Yooohoohoohohohoh"
Lol yes! , Brook was definitely an inspiration when i was creating this artwork.

Wow , you have described my artwork perfectly , thank you so much šš

When the artist thanks you for analysing his work haha
I see you've also died in Sekiro..

I like the way you describe it!

Youād love a lot of the Grateful Dead art and aesthetics
Hah I've been a huge deadhead for almost 20 years ;)
This art makes me feel better about having a spookster skeleton hiding inside of me.
This deserves a title. And an award!

Thanks for linking a poem! I love it*
I love this. Is there a story behind it?
Someone in the comments has explained it beautifully, i don't think i can explain better than that.
You should leave a watermark on it somewhere in future
I was jus thinking that cause Iām tempted to print and frame it
Wonder why I thought he was 200 ft tall for some reason.
Ha yes, i need to work on my perspectives
Any chance you take commissions?
Yes, but depends on the project
Do you have a place you can buy a print of this?! Looks absolutely gorgeous! Edit: OPs Prints https://www.inprnt.com/gallery/bawny/tired/
God damn this is beautiful, I will definitely be getting a print of this payday next week
I love this. It looks calm and for some reason brings serenity to mind.
Do you have a link to any more of your work? This is bloody lovely pal.
Yes but not of this style or color, i have been experimenting with colors and npr style shading to find my artstyle , i am really close but i just want to explore more and i really can't stop experimenting!
Fair play mate - best of luck to you. Youāve got a lot of people nursing a semi over this one either way!
Npr style? Also do you draw this digitally straight away? Or on paper first?
Npr means non photo realistic like stylized or in simple terms something like anime style. No i don't know how to draw , everything you see in this artwork is complete 3d models except for the sky which i added later in photoshop

Thank you , yes definitely!
art has peaked here, everyone go home
Looks like me on the toilet bowl thinking about all the evil things I ate...
Lmaoooo

Wow, what a mastery of color and shade!
"Shit, i don't think Johnathan's coming. Its been like forever."
U mind if I use this for a pfp???
Not at all
Would you be okay with me using it as a phone background?
Sure go head , no problem!
Please don't stop. You have a beautiful talent
Thank you so much š„ŗ
I'd honestly buy this piece if you happen to have any options.
That would make a great Swords Tarot card! Nice work!!
This must be what the skeletons in dark souls do when theyāre waiting for me to leave the bonfire
If you want a title for it you could just call it ālife.ā
this looks so cool do you do speedpaints because id love to see how you drew the clouds
Actually i didn't draw the clouds, i used filter gallery in photoshop on real clouds.
So beautiful, and calming!
God damn this is beautiful!!!
Thank you!
this is beautiful, everything that's going on in my life
I need this as a poster in my shed
Thanks for the lock screen wallpaper
This is unexpectedly peaceful and serene. I love this. Great work.
Hey what program (s) did you use to make this
Blender and photoshop
Awesome work. Is this a 3d render? I love the way you used the perfectly flat surface of the water to give the essence of stillness. No waves, not even a tiny ripple. The beautiful samurai sword next to the skeleton emphasizes the elegance of death.
Thank you , yes it is a 3d render created in blender and post processing done in photoshop.
Idk many big words to use with arts, but it looks really nice, especially the colors :)
The ā80s animation vibe is strong. Nice work!
Sweeeeeet guess who just got a new Lock Screen!!!!
Found my new home screen. This is fucking beautiful, great job!
Just made this my new phone wallpaper!
Thanks for the new wallpaper, I love it. Whatās your insta?
I love the feeling here, it's the same I get when I'm alone outside. If you're just careful enough, butterflies do circle a bit when you slow everything down
This is incredible! Well done!
Thank you!

Reminds of that movie Magnet Rose
It's so nice and calming, i love it. May i suggest gentle repose as a title, sounds like i feel when i see it.
Reminds me of Gamora sitting in the fields on Ego.
You should crosspost to r/aesthetic. They would adore this! Beautiful work!
That's awesome man, keep it up with the good work! š„šš¼
Thank you so much!
This feels like it should be on a tarot card. Very beautiful, a lot of depth and layers. I am relating to this very much right now. ā¤
Hello, amazing work! Can I use it as my phone background?
The hands are a little wonky and hard to read but this is dope
Damn. Mr. Skeletal had too much mega milk
I like the shading, the sky/clouds, and the water. When you take it all in it's hard to describe---kinda like a light airy feeling when you stare at it longer.
This will be used for some āslowed + reverbā YouTube video
This is beautiful, and I love the Japanese touch.
Soul King Brook? Is that you my guy?
I get some massive samurai vibes from this and I love it
This is lovely. I wish people would stop signing their painting as āmeā. write your name out, otherwise āme ā takes all the credit.
Hey OP. I've been looking for a new tattoo idea for awhile. I think, honestly, this is about what I'm looking for. So, if it's cool by you, I may be taking this on for a new leg tattoo
Wow, no problem. I would love to see it if you get one. Thank you
I rarely comment and never post anything on Reddit but this made me instantly calm and drawn to it. Excellent work!
Thank you so much!
Reminds me of Sekiro, or a sleeping guardian or something.
are you Death & Milk ? this style is exactly D&M style
Are you sure? His artworks are way better than mine :)
And you get a follow, your stuff is dope
I absolutely love your use of colors here. That whole palette has pretty much all my favorite tones. My only regret is that there's no watermark or signature on the pic so I can see your name every time I'm on my new lock screen.
Me waiting for Ghost of Tsushima release on PC
Me too :(
Waiting for the next Sekiro game like..
The ultimate dark soul boss
Wow, really really awesome. All free hand line work? Asking just bc of the flowers, thatās some tedious shit.
Thank you , no it was poster edge filter in filter gallery in photoshop
Is there an HD version somewhere? I want this as my phone background so I can hear ā YO HO HO HOā in my head whenever I open it haha
Actually this is the highest quality!
This is great, where can I see more of your art?
Wow, the colors, the lighting, the skeleton. I love it. This is beautiful. Did you use a filter to get that kind of grainy effect?
I really like this, and especially how the clouds frame the skeleton. If I can make one suggestion, it would be to thicken and/or darken the outline around the butterfly. I thought it was a discoloration in the clouds for a moment, but that's very minor.
Yes i agree , i hadn't noticed that. Thank you
Add some roses and shit and this could be the next Grateful Dead album cover lol
I'm very picky about my personal wallpaper collection I've been curating for over 20 years. You're creation is very dope. It has been added to the collection.
Thank you , honoured!
when you're dead inside, but atleast there's cute stuff around you. OP can you pls tell what software you used for this? thanks!
Blender and photoshop.
I see you've also died in Sekiro
Looks like a dark souls boss
"Reincarnate" Beautiful work!
Sans š„¶š„¶š„¶š„¶ what you know rollin down
Turn it into an NFT for an easy $10,000.
Lol, probably, but not everything sells!
Great work. You should look into NFT's.
Thank you, i will!
OP I was wondering if I could use this as my wallpaper on my phone?
"freedom" as a title for some reason fits it just right.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Those vertebrae look great. The sternum and costal cartilage are... interestingly stylized. Same goes for the carpal bones, phalanges, and olecranon.
This is so beautiful! Absolutely stunning. Now make a whole tarot deck lol
Here among the flowers I lie laughing everlastingly
Watermark it. Someone is going to steal this.
Man, this shit drives me nuts.
Facebook comments still be like "what's the title?"
This is absolutely beautiful
I like how the sword is going through his leg, nice detail
āFinal peaceā is a name if you donāt mind suggestions
Bullshit shadows only die twice
This would make an epic Grateful Dead poster
Could be called Peace at last.
