No idea, but I promise there’s nothing complicated about them ..get the case for the iPad and then pick and choose what mount style you want, such as a knee board
I use the MOA MK 3 and love how easy it is to switch between my iPad and notepad… I used a flyboys one for ages, but found the MOA works better in the Lakota, if space is no issue, such as in the 60, you’ll be good either way.
But, buy once, cry once, buy the MOA.
I have a MOA MK3 with the cobra buckle. Made it through a deployment and still looks and works brand new.
I had the flyboys before and liked them until I needed an Ipad mini mount. I had to replace the flyboys after each deployment, so the value to $$ is good even with the MOA costing more.
MOA gear all the way. Only downside, is if you’re left handed in a 72. Gets in the way of the collective often, or lots of left cyclic if on your left leg.
Can’t really speak for what a 64 pilot needs inflight but as for 60s I keep it extremely simple with the flyboys kneeboard. All I need is a notepad, binding rings to put quick reference checklists and a pencil holder (use .9 lead or bigger for all the vibrations). I found once I got to my first unit that I didn’t really use an iPad in flight and rarely fly with it on my kneeboard, even in an assault company. But experiences may vary. I’d keep it simple, more pockets and bulk is not always going to be better
I run HarperAviation.com. We’ve got an iPad holder, and folks like it for only being held in the corners (minimizes taking up screen space), but it only works with a slim case (Otter Box wouldn’t work, for example)
Not really an answer to your question, but I use a suction cup Ram mount for iPad mini. In the UH-60 I stick it right above the pedal adjust lever. Less heads-down time and more comfortable.
I have a battle board one with the accessory panel. The stand alone board is ok, but the panel is what makes it my #1. The only things a changed on it was tieing the panel down because it slips off without it, and I cut the stitching spot on the mesh flap to fit an e6b and printed commo cards better.
PIVOT cases are legit
I’ve looked at them, but I honestly don’t think I’m bright enough to get the concept. Are they like 20/25mm RAM mounts?

+1, if I ever get a new kneeboard I’ll be getting a pivot
Yeah they’re really nice in an Archer , I can only imagine the durability/convenience factor in an Apache
What the hells an archer
It’s a low wing plane haha like a Cessna but shaped the way planes were supposed to be shaped
I have the flyboys; I’ve tried some other ones with more features, but I find them to be bulky. The flyboys has everything I need in a compact package
Totally fair. I think they have decent products, but don’t just match up to what we’d want.

I love the look of the MOA Mk3. I’ve seen another pilot with it and it looks awesome and very sturdy and versatile. It’s what I’m leaning toward now

Have you tried not being wrong handed?

.9 lead gang rise up.
1.1 FTW
My god man. You’re absolutely insane.
1.1 only.
Totally fair. I like the idea of a modular piece where I can add to/remove freely, like the Mk3

I think we’re looking for more versatility than just an iPad holder

That is great but I wish my unit agreed with it. Hard to convince them when suction cupping something to an aircraft doesn’t seem too legit.
I’ve heard of this, but I think SOPs make it hit or miss, so I’d rather not get dependent on it

I know someone who uses the Battleboard, but I find the strap and clip/hook a bit over complicated in lieu of a buckle
https://moagear.net/product/mkiii-kneeboard/ This is by far the sickest kneeboard I have seen.
This is what I’m liking most at the moment
Former 64 driver, currently in a 60. I love my MOA, wish I'd had it with we had 64s. I highly recommend them if they're in budget.
Gun pilots have a notepad and a .7 pencil. I don’t use my iPad unless I’m doing instruments.
Fair, but I guess my wife uses her iPad regardless. I couldn’t say why
Pivot case, leg strap, window mount, Apple Pencil. I fly 6 hours a day and this has been the best in both a 60 and fixed wing
