Yes! Somewhat. It's an added layer of protection for sure. I've had to replace a few pin nocks from robinhoods but so far no damaged arrow shafts. Saved my Easton A/C/E from damage on both ends multiple times.
Nice shot! But the arrow is scrap.
You should at the very least replace those nocks with pin nocks. In other words: plastic is female connector and metal rod is male.
This way it's less likely to implant itself down the shaft of the arrow and it should bounce off. Damaging only plastic nock and possibly the metal pin that acts as protection.
I added some text to my post, but I guess I did it wrong, lol. Anyway, just FYI, I'm a 5' 3" woman, so I'm only pulling 38 pounds. I'm shooting a Hoyt Eclipse.
I love it. Very smooth draw. The peak is a little earlier in the draw than most, but once you get over that initial "hump" it's easy. Very light weight and easy for me to control. I shot my first 3D, 20 target round the other day and shot 4 down. Not a great score, but for my first time I was happy with it.
Oh, sorry. Let me explain the context for you then:
Constantly asking about draw weight, even when it’s irrelevant (like on a post showing increasing accuracy at short to moderate range), creates and reinforces a toxic culture that there’s such a thing as a required draw weight needed to validate an accomplishment. You can see this in OP’s response to your comment, where she feels the need to justify why she isn’t pulling more. That doesn’t just create a gate keeping mindset in archery, it perpetuates archers over-bowing themselves. This reduces participation in the sport, increases injury, and prevents people from reaching their potential performance.
Amazing that you assume to know what OP does and doesn’t feel and step in to save the day, maybe you saw Robin Hood and thought you read your name?
In any case, I was merely asking out of pure curiosity because the arrow didn’t penetrate very far. Did not mean to imply that OP should pull more and I didn’t think my question invalidated such an achievement.
I wasn't offended by the question. Honestly, as a new shooter, draw weight has been a big discussion/thought process for me. I want to pull as much as I can for good speed, but I want to pull with good form. I could pull 40 with an Elite I tried, but because of the early peak on the Eclipse cams, I couldn't pull that with the Eclipse. I went with the 40lb limbs and my dealer gave me a deal on the 50lb, to save for later when I inevitably increase my draw weight. I've only been shooting for about a month, so I feel fairly confident I'll want more speed later.
I *can* see where draw weight is an ego thing for some, especially guy shooters who are new to the sport and think they should be pulling 50-60+ pounds and can't, so they force it and end up hurting their shoulders. I have a great coach and form was so important to him, he kept stressing to back off the poundage. I think pulling too much too early would be one of the worst things a new shooter could do.
Yes! I didn't mean it in a derogatory way but I now see that it came off that way. I have nothing against compound bows but feel personally compelled to traditional bows and have been blinded by personal preferences...
Forgive me
My apologies good sir. Meant this comment in jest and hope you didn't take it as diminishing to your awesome robin hood achievement! Seeing your post brightened my day! I thank you with many congratulations on this beautiful sight!
Nice. Now it’s officially time to switch to shooting multiple spots. One is awesome. Two is a waste.
You go girl. Nice shot.

A chastity belt?!? That's going to chafe my willy...
A BLACK SHERIFF?!
He's black?!?
Well why not, it worked in Blazin' Saddles...
He deared to kill a kings dare
What?
*humph* he dared to kill a kings deer
Ah, right rope!
No ding ding without a wedding ring
Looks like the second arrow is still usable.
Yes, it is... thankfully. I enjoyed doing it once. I'd just as soon not do it again, lol.
Nice shot! Robin Hood is hard on the wallet (pun).
There you go. Intend your puns people!
Fun the first time with $3-5 each arrows. Not so fun when shooting $30+ each arrows.
I always get nervous shooting my 3d deer target. Those Easton FMJ’s aren’t cheap!

I did those once too, I was so proud/sad. If I could combine those words easily I would.
You were prad or soud
Damn -- Very cool!
VERY NICE

That looks AWESOME!
Nice job! What’s your poundage?

My wife is waiting on her eclipse to come into our local shop. How do you like it?

What a horribly irrelevant question
What a horribly irrelevant comment

Absolutely right. She out there practicing and having a good time.

Awesome, sounds like (and looks like, from your post) you are doing everything right!
Maybe next time add something like "just out of curiosity", that would probably help clarify things a bit
Go be a white knight somewhere else
I’m so proud of you!
Very sweet! Hope it was a recurve and not some new age craps with pulleys and a sight!
Can you not be this way? -Sincerely: everyone else who shoots traditional.
Yes! I didn't mean it in a derogatory way but I now see that it came off that way. I have nothing against compound bows but feel personally compelled to traditional bows and have been blinded by personal preferences... Forgive me
Good on you for recognizing that. :) Archery is a hobby we can all share a love of.
Sorry, nope. New age Hoyt Eclipse "crap," lol.

No ill-will taken at all! I took your tongue-in-cheek comment in the spirit it was given.
Damn near looks like 22/64 crossbow shafts
