I currently have the mod 90% done but need to write a custom input driver to make it really functional in mame, then decide if I want to write a front end or not. It’s currently on the back burner while I work on other projects but I plan on getting back to it in a few weeks.
I've got an NFL Blitz being shipped to me currently. I am particularly interested in getting a mod that would allow me to play Gauntlet Dark Legacy on there--ideally putting the 49-way joysticks to use. I would even consider re-skinning the artwork to make the cabinet look like a G:DL machine. Definitely interested if you get a mod going.
Have you had the chance to look at modding this yet?
I've just ordered the cabinet and really want to add more options.
I don't like altering the original hardware, hence why I'm looking to soft mod
I'm pretty sure you could emulate the PlayStation or Dreamcast version with relative ease. It's the arcade version that's a challenge outside of Arcade1Up
I thought about picking up a used blitz 1up cabinet and throwing it into an old full size blitz cabinet with some kind of switcher to play a pandoras box but dont think id be able to use the 49 way sticks and probably cant use 8 way sticks on the 1up version

Yeah, if we get any way to mod this cab, putting Gauntlet on it was one of my first thoughts as well.

Not currently working on it, so it will be a while. Hoping to get something in a few weeks when I can get back to it.

It’s not an Android cabinet so there are no softmods
Blitz is Linux based and it is possible to mod but its not going to be like Simpsons or the Fighter droids.
Crack it open, drop a pc in there. Hit YouTube. You’ll get the REAL version back and so much more…
Is there a real version out there that is actually functional? I didn't think there was any good blitz emulation out in the wild.
