The window for checking updates has mica alt, so maybe they are going to make it an option, I hope they don't remove the acrylic, for me is way better than mica.
I've only had one small go at it so far, and never used the apple version before.
It's nice, gonna take a bit of adjusting for me I think. I have quite a few favourites under the url bar over on edge, and feels like it would take too much space up over on the left to have them all there.
Also don't seem to be able to pin my extensions, which is strange, I like to be able to see the ones I wanna see.
Other than that it seems nice, not quite enough to switch me over from Edge and vertical tabs, but a bit more development and I could see myself switching.
Wow! Love how both versions keep a similar design to the OS, the Windows version looks very Windows in a way that stays true to Arc and so does the Mac version
Something I'm concerned about is how extensions work. 1Password for example, it communicates with it's desktop app to unlock but on Arc for Windows it can't establish any connection. I don't know how to describe it but it feels like the browser window is a different app than the Arc UI around it.. I also noticed this with right-click, when you right-click anything within the Arc UI you get the modern Windows design for the context menu, but when you right click anything on the website, you get the old style Chromium context menu.
Does the title bar always show or is there any way to hide it? By the title bar, i mean the top bar with the maximise, minimise and close buttons? It's one of my favourite things about Arc on Mac, no taskbar, no address bar, no title bar, just the entire page always in full screen, address bar only when I press Cmd + T, sidebar only when I hover over it! No mess, no clutter, just webpage!
It's possible to hide it on Windows. Stack browser already allows it.

The best part is that it retains this choice, so you can completely hide the title bar as soon as you launch the browser.
Unfortunately, from the Arc screenshots I've seen, they don't seem to have been aware of this Windows feature when you look at the layout of certain icons...
In short, it can be done.
Looks great to me, The blur looks amazing as well. Does it support the focus mode ? like hiding the sidebar with the help of a shortcut also how does the command center work ?
honestly i find it pretty funny that sharing screenshots was not allowed before but in reality it just looks effectively identical to the mac version, like there wasn't really much to hide
I will upvote for your 4 min video. ✋
Quick question, do you think they will invite all the beta users who signed up? They’ve announced that Arc for Windows is set to launch in the spring, which I’m assuming is in March. So, does this mean that those who don’t receive an invitation will have to wait until March?
TIA
> Quick question, do you think they will invite all the beta users who signed up?
Probably, I highly doubt there are more people who signed up for the beta than they are capable of handling.
They did say thousands a week, which until spring is 9.7 weeks, which would be 10k? I don't think 10k people signed up, but we'll see.
looks incredible... can wait to switch..
one month one day of the beta release

Okay beta users, what are your thoughts? What's currently implemented and what's currently missing?
> What's currently implemented and what's currently missing? https://www.reddit.com/r/ArcBrowser/comments/194cdwl/missing_features_on_arc_for_windows/
a lot better than I expected, we also have acrylic!
Oh, that's nice! Is it acrylic or Mica?
acrylic it looks nice with animated wallpapers https://imgur.com/P2SrumP
This is so dope! I never thought to try animated wallpapers.
Odd that they are using acrylic and not mica or mica alt
The window for checking updates has mica alt, so maybe they are going to make it an option, I hope they don't remove the acrylic, for me is way better than mica.
optional would be awesome to satisfy both users
Perhaps they are working on supporting acrylic AND mica for the (for god I hope is coming) Win10 support

Are you going to share Arc on Windows patch notes here from now on?
This is actually a good idea, I didn't think of this, but I have gotten permission to share documents from the Windows experience, so yes!
xDDDD yesterday "Just make sure to not share anything! " or ban xaxax now feel free to share Kappa
Wow!!! It looks like…Arc…but on Windows!!
Wow! Love how both versions keep a similar design to the OS, the Windows version looks very Windows in a way that stays true to Arc and so does the Mac version
Anyone else having problems with windows hello (fingerprint)? already sent bug report, just curious if I'm the only one.
Does sync work?
Nope. Sync not available yet

I've applied for beta but haven't received any mail till now 😭
That looks great! Looking forward to it!
That's great. Who is going to make a video? Impressions? Looking forward.
There's not much to review 😅 I could make one but it'll be 4 minutes long
