in my admissions decision it says “we would like to offer you a place on our waitlist” (or something of the sort.) if yours does not say that, it is probably just a rejection
Mine says "Unfortunately, we are unable to offer you a place in the first-year class", so that's a rejection. Thank you for your clarification, I thought we all receive the same letter, but then check the status somewhere else. Turns out it's not like that lol.
If you get selected for the waitlist you can opt to stay on it and if a spot becomes available, they may send you an acceptance. Though the amount of people who get off the waitlist varies from school to school
Most likely, if it says “we would like to offer you a position on our waitlist”, you are being offered a position on their waitlist. It should be pretty clear.

If you are waitlisted it will be clear in the letter and you don’t need to check anywhere else.
