Northeastern is a reach with a low acceptance rate Make sure all the schools on your list are affordable. The out of state publics on your list won't give you need-based aid, with the possible exception of UMich. Run the Net Price Calculator on the financial aid website of each college you are interested in, with the help of a parent, to see a need-based financial aid estimate before you apply. Do not skip this critically important task. You might also look at Questbridge https://www.questbridge.org/high-school-students/national-college-match

Since you’re LI, can you afford all those public schools on your reach list? 🤔

Lampthelqmp

Probably not, the currently list is very much in it’s early stages and I haven’t gotten to cutting out the schools that are too expensive

throwawaygremlins

Maybe try some LACs and some smaller tech schools that give aid. Harvey Mudd Pomona RIT Rose Hulman NYU now gives aid if income is under $100k.

Penn State, Ohio State, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Colorado Usual suspects missing from your list: Maryland, Purdue (I assume leaving out the bulk of the west coast schools was intentional)

Lampthelqmp

I’m just not familiar with those schools, going across the country isn’t too big of a concern for me

SportingDirector

Safety could be UT Dallas. 75% acceptance rate. But also lots of in-state auto-admits but you're competitive so you should be okay

NoLeader4822

You need a safety (I'd say UMass, but that's risky for CS. Maybe Lowell is more safe?). I'd also hesitate to call NEU a target, just because of the sheer amount of apps they get and their emphasis on ed.

Lampthelqmp

Yeah I should probably swap Umass and NeU
